John pressured us to pay $2,750 upfront (half of a $5,500 job) for three aluminum awnings even after we signed their contract. We are a management company that own and operate over 100 units of commercial and residential apartments in the South/Southwest suburbs for over 30 years. I offered and provided current contractor references but they wouldn't budge on their "company policy, sorry but without your money in our pocket we will not proceed". There is no way we would even consider to begin a relationship at such a serious disadvantage with a new I/C vendor! If you are not willing to put your money, name and reputation on the line for your work you shouldn't be in business for yourself. No thanks, well find someone professional. Stay away.
