The Bungalow 56 team transformed the bedroom for a little girl fighting leukemia who shares a room with her brother. They went above and beyond to create this healing oasis for Yami and Gabriel. Yami's dream room included a space for her to crochet and do crafts. Yami has been fighting cancer for 1.5 years and has spent a lot of time isolated at home. This new healing and craft space that Bungalow 56 created couldn't be more perfect! In the words of Yami's mom: "This has helped all of us to see this journey with a more positive view. Because we see her happiness when she goes to her room, we know that she will have even more strength to keep going and not give up, even if once in a while the times are rough." The positive vibes from Reg and Izzy were what we needed to have a successful chunky blanket session. The instruction by Reg was very good and she was on point with analogies to help us all better understand and visualize what we needed to do. Example, "Two big bunny ears...new bunny eats old bunny, then create another new bunny.." for the braiding edge technique. This was overall AWESOME! I highly recommend groups of 5-9 people to participate in this awesome chunky blanket class. Parking is better 2 blocks away in the residential neighborhood, and free. After our chunky blanket class, we shopped their awesome jewelry bar. They have so many beautiful earrings and charm bracelets. They will even attach the charms that you purchase onto your bracelet, bonus!

Ahead of time we all picked out what we wanted to make, and what we wanted to the design to look like. When we arrived there's a couple of tables all setup with our project we picked out all ready for us. We get a little schpeal about what kind of paint to pick and then we can pick out our colors and get to work. It was so much fun and so easy (I'm not creative, but was very easy to follow the stencils). We also brought our own food and drinks and while our paint was drying we could walk around and munch and chat with everyone. I have already been chatting with my girlfriends about coming back to do an event together.

They have a terrific paper selection, plus pens, wax and wax seals, Rifle products, watercolor paper and paint, and so much more. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. It's a charming place that paper and pen nerds (like me) won't want to miss! I'm sad that I didn't take any pictures (especially of their front window, which is always so cute!).

Perhaps she assumed I intended to steal something from them which is very sad and frankly pathetic. Considering at that point, I hadn't even touched ANYTHING yet! When you have such a store packed with tiny cute items you should expect people browsing around and admiring what you have, instead by harassing them and trying to make them uncomfortable you are just going to go out of business very fast.
