The best burger in Dayton - Cobra Burger!
    Kim S.

If I'm craving a hamburger, you can bet we are driving the 20 miles from Springboro to Lucky's! Their Cobra Burger is the best burger in Dayton! It has a Thai-style Marinade, with Peanut Butter, Fresh Cilantro, Cucumbers, Pickled Carrots, Jalapeños, and Sriracha Sauce. I've had peanut butter on burgers elsewhere but those are just a gimmick and don't have thought behind them. Thai food often has peanuts, so this combination makes sense and is fantastic! The restaurant itself is a bit of a hole in the wall. Nothing fancy but they have a lot of interesting and yummy sounding dishes, with many vegetarian and vegan options. I'd love to try other items but just can't pull myself away from The Cobra. They also have a good beer selection and the servers are friendly. Food came out quickly and several people checked in on us to make sure everything was good.

Service with sparking water with a lime and lemon wedge. Thank you Chris!

Originally, I came here because I saw Chelsea outside and she had a good vibe. So, I came in and had a a beer and the kale salad. It was delicious. Then, I came back with a friend and we had the chicken fingers and the mozzarella sticks. Chris, the bartender, suggested them and wow, was he right! I was surprised by the tender just fried to the right level of perfection complimented by the most juicy chicken and mozzarella. Plus, the drinks are great and reasonable. Definitely come here!!

Although Lucky's has only been open since 2011 it feels much older. In a good way. Located in the Oregon District in a non-distinct brick building the ambience is that of a welcoming, unassuming space where a person can hang out, catch up with friends, and eat some truly delicious food. What, you say? Food - delicious food - at a taproom? Oh yes. And also - delicious vegan and vegetarian food at a taproom. Let's talk more about this. Lucky's has an incredible selection of plant based offerings, with the additional option to adjust existing menu items to be plant based. They also have a dedicated prep station for non-meat items so prevent cross-contamination. One can substitute faux chicken, veggie turkey, a KBR Patty (kidney and black beans and rice), an Impossible burger, or seitan for many of the meat options. The jackfruit Reuben is veggie at baseline, but can be made vegan by substituting vegan cheese and vegan thousand island. We dined with my parents over a holiday trip, and although they're not taproom folks, both agreed their Model T Impossible burger, seitan gyro, sautéed green beans, and fries merited a return trip. Pricing is what one would expect from a restaurant in the Oregon District - not a cheap bite but absolutely worth it.

Have been trying to get here for years and definitely glad we made it. Burgers, veggies, and Killer cheese Sticks. Alot of vegetarian options too! Great beer selection and can't wait to come back and try everything. Jana the bartender is fantastic! Don't pass up the sautéed greens!

Wow, I've been neglecting Lucky's for 2.5 years and now I've received the luck that lucky provides. Yea, get excited your luck is about to change, but just for your taste buds, which I mean is still worthy of excitement. Lucky's doesn't look like anything special, so don't judge a restaurant by it's look (or a person for that matter), but give it a go and enjoy. Where Lucky's strikes it rich is where all restaurants strive to strike it rich and that is their menu. The menu they have and I love is that it's so unique, burgers with peanut butter, vegan meals, not just grilled cheese but pesto grilled cheese. Falafel (I mean when was the last time you saw a menu with grilled cheese and falafel on it) is so so good, plus hummus, the diversity (or randomness) of the menu makes Lucky's sparkle, each entree has such a uniqueness to it (not a weird uniqueness), but just enjoy of a little added ingredient here or there that it sticks out that it makes you go, of course that extra ingredient would make it that much better. So when you have a chance give Lucky's a go, they do have a patio in the summer and a small parking lot in the back that fills up fast. Their beer menu is awesome too and their service is great, Chuck was always checking on us, but being pushy but just to let us know she was thinking about us. Lucky's will have more visits and recommendations from us, it is divey inside, but if you want good food (classics with a twist) check out Lucky's it's awesome, brilliant and stellar.

Really great food, would recommend to anyone! They're especially helpful for anyone with a vegan/vegetarian diet and other dietary restrictions, as they prepare ingredients on separate surfaces. The staff is always super nice and food is always fresh! The lighting is quite dim, as it is a bar, but it has a very cozy neighborhood pub feel to the place.

Don't let the look of this place fool you, the food is great! A dive bar in downtown Dayton in the oregon district, not a lot of charm to it, but they get the job done with their food. Limited menu but each option is made well and has excellent flavor. Traditional bar food with some veggie options thrown in the mix. Got the falafel pita with sweet potato fries and a burger with regular fries. The falafel was great and very filling. Sweet potato fries would have been better without the seasoning but we're still good. Burger was cooked well! Friendly staff that made just enough conversation without being tiresome. Will be back!

Paradise Grapefruit IPA! Fantastic, floral and grapefruity!

Lucky's is a great dive type bar and restaurant in the heart of the Oregon District. My friend and I stopped in last night and had a terrific brew and burger. I started with the Paradise Grapefruit IPA. Don't let the name fool you, it doesn't actually taste like grapefruit. It's a nice hoppy floral IPA, definitely worth the try. As an appetizer we had the fried pickles. They were amazing but the horseradish sour cream to dip them in was the real winner!! We both had the Cobra Burger and wow was it bursting with flavor! I wasn't sure about peanut butter on a burger and was totally surprised by how well it works. Also, I love my burger cooked more on the rare side and this one was cooked to absolute perfection. If you're downtown Dayton in the Oregon looking for a fun bar with great food I would definitely recommend Lucky's!!

Cold and dry sweet potato fries that sat waiting for a burger to finish.

After I chose a seat, they brought out my breakfast croissant on a paper plate. I wish the cheese was melted, but the sandwich was really good. The croissant was impressive-it tasted like I was back in Paris. It just felt like I was in my hotel lobby having breakfast with all the paper products. I opted for an assortment of to go pastries to try--almond croissant, lemon blueberry scone, and coffee cake. They were all pretty delicious, except the scone. The coffee cake was the best. I only got the chance to eat a few of the goodies I had but what I did eat was pretty good . I received some sort of apple danish which was so soft and pretty good . Then there was this pastry called Kougin Amann, which kinda reminded me of baklava without the peanuts and the glaze. But it was soo good it was in the size of a Muffin. They gave us two. There were also other parties in there that I didn't get a chance to even get too but there was a cinnamon roll and some pastry with strawberries and crème in the middle. 10/10 will definitely have to come back and get some more pastries and goodies

I decided to stick with the day's special, a "Bestie" corned beef sandwich for $11.95. You know I gotta try it out Right next to a gas station, seem like a pretty safe area. I don't know how long this place been here, but walking in feels like the place just got renovated, very clean, and welcoming, one of the girl is not, seem like she just woke up, even tho is 4pm in the afternoon, maybe she got started her shift My server was more friendly, very nice lady I can't remember what my ordered, but you can see it on the menu. Now I don't know is me or because of what it is now in our country, everything seem sooooo expensive You see in my photo, that sandwich is like $17, you can order half sandwich half side, or the full sandwich like mine for the same price, like I said, is 4pm in the afternoon, this is my first meal, so I'm going for the full. Added basket of fries for $4.99 and a cup of soup another $4.99 Food is okay, nothing special. I'm not a big fan, the reason why I'm giving it 5 stars even tho is not up to my standards of taste, that's because of me, everyone taste are different, I'm not going to let what my taste effect my stars rating, the food still good, place is clean, my server is friendly A bit expensive, I walked out of there $30, for a sandwicH, fries and soup, in a tiny little town of Dayton?
