My first time. The place caught my eye from the street prior and I wanted to try a good local sport. The food was good but not better than other spots. I had a bacon cheeseburger and at $20 due to $1 for cheese and $2 for bacon it was high and came with chips. Fries were an up charge. Soda was $3.50 but average these days. Service was good but they unchanged me $1.25 for a small tin of BBQ sauce for the Saratoga chips. Come on. I could get a same or better burger and awesome onion rings at Double Days for less money. Im not a drinker so I wasn't moved by what looked like a good drink menu. The final straw is the 3% upcharge to pay with a CC. Just average into the cost like most businesses and it disappears into the overpriced food charges. I felt overcharged (I expected this a bit just by the type of venue) but charging for BBQ sauce (very petty) and a CC fee (petty) means I will not be returning for the good but basically average food. read more

The new location and updated menu are both great. There are still some old favorites but there are some new items that are great. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The chicken was boneless but not dry. Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly. Solid dish. Troddy coddy is always a solid choice. Fish is done really well and the fries are great. Inside is cozy and they have done work to help with the sound. Booths are nice. Staff is great. We have never had to wait, but we plan our trips so we are not there at busy times. Wow! What a glow up! We liked Mudlick when they were downtown but the Centerville location is a lot more upscale. The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us right away. Our server was friendly but we found it a bit odd when the first thing she said to us was "we have everything on the menu" like that was not the ordinary and they were typically out of items? I ordered the Chicken Avo (grilled chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese, jalapeño jam, fried leeks, and avocado) and our meals came out very quickly. The sandwich was delicious but spicy so be prepared for that. Their fries were great too! My husband really liked his lunch as well. We're happy to have another independent restaurant in the Centerville area! We will be back. read more

Tonight attended the soft opening of Mudlick Tap House in downtown Centerville. The new location is beautiful & tonight was a wonderful night to sit outside for dinner. Our waitress was friendly took our drink orders right away & allowed us to review the menu. We finally decided on the Trotty Coddy fish, fried & side of slaw and I enjoyed the Chicken Avo sandwich with grilled chicken I asked for it to be blackened & was, it was juicy, flavorful with a generous portion of fries. With it being new, they're still working out of variety of items. They will definitely need to have some sound panels put in cause it is very loud inside. Will be back to try again as there were a variety of items on the menu to try on a future visit. read more

First time at the new location. Very nice upscale feel. We sat inside but the patio looks great and we will try it next time. The amount of parking was a pleasant surprise in downtown Centerville. This has been a rate limiting step to development I was impressed they had 24 taps with the beer menu displayed on TVs above the bar. We were seated at a nice sized table and the staff was very friendly and did a good job. I had the mussels and frites which were great, the addition of andouille sausage was an interesting twist making the broth very smokey and satisfying. Overall a very solid lunch and I look forward to returning and trying the desserts, they looked very tempting read more

I really REALLY wanted to be able to justify spending $20 on a sandwich and fries....and another $25 on two drinks but I cannot. We came in on a Sunday around noon and the place was empty. The guy who "greeted" me was pretty rude. I was looking for my friend and didn't see her right away. He literally said "this is it" and pointed to the empty restaurant. She happened to be hidden in a booth. The attitude from the greeter set a bad tone. The waiter was friendly but not very good. A third person arrived and we had to ask him for another water cup and a set of utensils...when the price for anything and everything here is astronomical I expect top notch service. The Chicken Avo was ok. I split it with my friend...the waiter knew we were splitting it and didn't have it cut in half nor did they bring another plate / tray. I'd rather go to Arby's next time. Their fresh cut fries were good but nothing special. My friend got the salmon sandwich and the bread bun looked raw. I'm very underwhelmed by this place. Won't be a regular here. I've been to the Mudlick in Dayton but this was my first time visiting the new Centerville location. We sat at the bar which is elegant and nicely decorated. I ordered the Mudlick mule which was very tasty! They have a full cocktail bar and limited craft beers on tap. (That's actually my only complaint- no domestic beer, but I understand it's a tap house.) I ordered the creole grouper. It was cooked perfectly and the creole tomato sauce was amazing! My husband got the hanger steak and fries. He said it was good. They have sandwiches and salads on the menu, but also more upscale cuisine. Our bartender did a good job. Walked out after 45 minutes Made a reservation for 7pm. Arrived about 5 minutes early. We were seated immediately. Waitress took our order and brought our drinks. We walked out at 7:45. When I asked the waitress if our order got lost since other people were being served, she said it was because they ordered before us. I then asked if that included the couple at a nearby table who were seated after us, were served their meal, and were paying their check. That left her speechless. Never again. This was our second visit to Mudlick and won't be our last! The patio is one of my favorite things, but I also love that you can make a reservation. The menu is unique and varied, it was so hard to choose! I ordered the Chicken Avo sandwich and my husband had the Reuben. My chicken was cooked perfectly and I love the combo of the jalapeño jam with the smashed avocado - so yummy! The fries were cooked perfectly, crispy like we like them. My husband's Reuben was OUTSTANDING; one of the best I've tasted. Our server was Amanda and she was fantastic. Service was good. Family had a variety of sandwiches and salads, all were good. I had the shrimp and grits, the worst shrimp and grits I've ever had! 4 shrimp. The sauce states a white wine tomato sauce. What I got was something with so much old bay or other seasoning you couldn't taste anything else. Cheddar grits??? No cheese could be seen or tasted. If McDonald's ever does shrimp and grits, it would be better than this. I ate the shrimp and a couple bites, the rest wast really edible. read more

Maire (our hostess) was so sweet, and Sabrina (our server) was knowledgeable, attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations. We shared the Cajun Parmesan Fries and the Buttermilk golden-fried chicken with Boursin potatoes and maple bacon Brussels sprouts--absolutely amazing. My wife especially loved the cold brew martini Sabrina suggested. What stood out most was the teamwork. The manager checked on us, and other servers pitched in to help Sabrina--something you don't always see. We had a reservation for dinner with several of our friends on New Year's Eve. We got seated right away. Took about ten minutes for our waitress to even acknowledge us. My husband had the Creole Grouper. The size of the piece of grouper was so small, not even enough to fill you up, the temperature of the fish was barely lukewarm and not accommodating enough for the menu price of $25. I had the Fried Chicken, the chicken was dry, the mashed potatoes were barely warm, but the side of maple bacon brussel sprouts it was served with, were delicious, menu price of $24. I stopped in with my girlfriends as part of our girls night out. We made reservations two days a head of time online which was quick and easy BUT seems to fill up fast. When we got there they seated us right away and it was clear why they do reservations--most the tables and the bar was full. Our server was attentive and nice--we needed some extra time to go over the menu and she came to check on us an appropriate amount. I had an Old Fashioned which was pretty good--smaller portion than I would like at $11. Then I tried the Sazarac which was brought out "neat" and $13. For dinner I decided to just get myself the Calamari and Peppers. It's from the appetizers but was a great portion. The calamari was okay. Not something I feel the need to ever order again. One of my girls got the Buffalo chicken egg rolls and they were yummy!! The deviled eggs looked amazing too as I watched two of my friends fight over them. One got the large market salad with salmon and the salmon looked meh and dry. I definitely feel like Mudlick really comes through for their drinks and appetizers. read more

First visit with our friends. Easy to reserve a table, host was friendly and our waitress was excellent. This recently opened restaurant was clean and spacious. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. All four if us tried something different and we all enjoyed each entree. The only downside was the high level of noise echoing through the inside dining area, which made it difficult to have conversation. Management should consider adding sound deadening features to the current hard ceilings and walls. Overall we enjoyed our visit and plan to return. read more

Went to their new location in Centerville. We received an email inviting us to attend their "soft opening". We made a reservation - very easy to do online. Building and patio are great (although outdoor seating is very close to a busy road so it's a bit noisy). Inside tables were nicely spaced. Service was fantastic. Food was good. Part of our order arrived cold, but that was quickly rectified. Nice beer selection. They seem to be working on all the kinks associated with a new restaurant opening. I wish they would have discounted the total bill. I've never attended a soft opening and had to pay full menu price!! ‍ We will definitely go back after they get settled in. read more

Visited the new location for the first time after enjoying the previous location for years. We decided to share the poutine and fried chicken. Poutine was good, very fresh and tasty. The fried chicken was dry and overcooked. The mashed potatoes were very good and Brussels sprouts were excellent. Service was ok - bottle of wine took some time to arrive and water carafe was never filled. Ambiance was ok - not great not horrible. Very nice ambience. Nice staff. Ordered lamb medium rare. Came out well done. Second time it came out raw. Opted after that for a dinner salad, which was very good. The key lime tart was excellent. They took off the lamb on my bill, but billed me twice, then took off the second charge on my credit card. I would go back again to see what the other menu options are like, since the menu looks very appealing. My friend's dinner, the salmon sandwich looked very good. I ordered the fired chicken served with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Probably one of the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had, I love Brussels sprouts and I order them a lot! The chicken was good but a little dry. My wife had the burger and she was okay with it, nothing exceptional. However, she also got the spinach salad which was missing the cranberries! The subpar service was the issue, the server had way too many tables. A couple of firsts (we've eaten out a lot for many years), when taking our order the server abruptly stopped and informed us that she had an order up for another table and she would be back to take our order. The other issue was the table had water all over it when we were seated. I used my cloth napkins to wipe the table off, when greated by the server we informed her that we needed another napkin since we had to wipe the table off and she said no problem. When we placed our order we reminded her again that we needed a napkin. When my wife's salad came, I had to go to the men's room to get some paper towels. Finally after our dinner was served by the kitchen staff the server checked on us a few minutes later and after another request she got us a napkin. She also made a comment when we asked a third time for another napkin "what a poor guy", I don't think it was intended to be anything mean but how many times do you have to ask for a napkin? We also waited a long time in-between being checked on and had a fairly long delay in getting our check. We also noticed the couple next to us that appeared to have the same frustrations. We also noticed a family that took our seats at the bar when we were seated leave the restaurant long before us after being seated and having dinner, of course with a different server. We eat out a lot and probably would frequent this restaurant more often because the food is better than average and the prices are reasonable. However, the service has been an issue both times we visited the restaurant. By the way, the Rueben was not available both times we visited the restaurant. Not sure if we'll try gain. :/ read more
