We called about 30 minutes before to make reservations for dinner. We were immediately seated when we arrived. Our server was attentive and friendly. I tried the marinated button mushrooms (4/5) and the picanha skewers (5/5). The mushrooms were good but slightly too salty for me. The skewers were cooked perfectly (medium) and came with a delicious chimichurri sauce.

Cheesecake was great. Lobster was okay and steak and mash potatoes were amazing. Service was good slightly long wait but good overall. The restaurant has a great western vibe features many unique decorations.

Amazing way to celebrate our last night of vacation! Walking into Gun Barrel Steak and Game House felt like a real Western experience with the log cabin feel and incredible taxidermy animas throughout. I even had to do a walk through of the entire restaurant to take it all in. No appetizers since I knew I'd be too full to eat a complete meal and we were getting on a flight early the next morning. We started off with drinks and I had a Wyoming Manhattan served with a plastic black rifle as my stir stick which I loved. And the drink was good and strong. Dinner: my husband had the Big Sky Ribeye with onion straws and was cooked to perfection (I had several bites!) and I had the bison ribs. Talk about tender! They were falling off the bone and the sauce was delicious. We really enjoyed our time at Gun Barrel. No room for dessert!

Incredible experience! Service was very fast. Server was friendly. All of the food was exceptionally good. The steak especially was flavorful and delicious. I loved the dessert, the drinks, and the salad. Thank you Gun Barrel. This was an unforgettable experience!

The food was absolutely delicious--easily one of the best meals we've had in a long time. You definitely don't find food like this back home in Missouri. The bison prime rib was incredible, and the filet paired with the béarnaise sauce was truly delicious. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and the quality and flavor exceeded our expectations. We left extremely impressed and would highly recommend it! Our server was the best too!

This is an incredible restaurant! The vibe, the service and the FOOD - perfection. I got the Bison steak medium rare... the flavor, temp and presentation was amazing. Definitely worth the price and I recommend calling ahead for a reservation. Folks were waiting at 5 PM for the doors to open.

This had some of the best food I've had. We tried the fried green tomatoes and it was to die for. I could have ordered another plate for my dinner. We also had the teriyaki chicken and the filet flight and everything is so good! Our waiter was also great, even on a super busy night he was very attentive.

We are in town for a bachelorette party and had a reservation here for our first night. This place opens at 5 and our reservation was for 5:30- and this place was already poppin'. The service was truly 5 star. Within minutes of ordering drinks, our amazing server Mark brought them to the table. They were strong but flavorful! We were also provided complimentary bread with garlic butter. Appetizer and dinner orders were likewise delivered quickly after ors. The green dried tomatoes in particular were very tasty. Everyone got a different dish but we all ate to excess, the food was so good. I'm vegetarian (pescatarian for this trip) and the salmon was delicious. Everyone loved their meals. All in all, a must stop and eat- but I would recommend a reservation.

First time in, just passing through and Ell for n the Menu caught my eye! I was by myself and got a great table right in front of the BBQ Grill (see my pics), no better seat in the house unless there is one in the kitchen . I started with the Bison Carpaccio it was delicious! Perfect for one person but maybe not enough for two. I followed that with the wedge salad with Blue Cheese which was perfect! The I decided on Mixed Game Grill for my entree . Combination of elk steak, bison, prime, rib, and venison bratwurst with the rice with pecans & mushrooms (my choice of sides) it's a great plate to get a whole feel for everything. The Bison Prime Rib was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The venison sausage was excellent as well. The Elk Steak was a thick Top Sirloin. I ordered it Med-Rare and it came rare in the center. I did not send it back and I'm enjoyed it thoroughly.. I want to. Make a comment about the side dish (Rice with Pecans and Mushrooms) This was excellent. Earthy, and the pecans and mushrooms were tiny but could be detected. It was really good. Definitely worth a try. This place is big, busy, and loud. Not a fancy White linen type of place, but rich is rustic decor. It works with the menu items they are putting up. My server Ramiro, was on it! Always checking with me and making sure everything was good. He offered to take my Elk Steak back but I declined, ended up being a good call. I was looking for a restaurant that exemplified Jackson and I found it. If ever back through this way, I will be back! Cheers!

We had a great meal in Jackson Hole Wyoming at Gun Barrel Steak House! My wife had the steak diane - wagyu beef cooked to perfection, nicely seasoned with a baked potato. I had the steak burger without the bun but with everything else , onion ring, bacon and cheese , potato wedges on the side. Burger was seasoned and seared nicely , great flavor all the way around. My wife and I shared a caesar salad and it was excellent, great house made dressing, hit the spot. We sat outside on a lovely evening and had a very pleasant dinner! Cheers!!

We stopped in here for dinner after we landed in Jackson and we were warmly greeted by staff and taken to our table outside. The ambience is warm, rustic and western all around with lots of taxidermy animals and displayed facts about the wildlife. The menu is extensive and there's a variety of mets available. We got the fried green tomatoes for an app and they were fabulous! I got the bison ribs which were delicious, and my fiance got the bison steak. We also had a caprese which was great. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a great dinner in Jackson!

Looks great on the outside but so tough I could barely chew it. Should have sent it back! $68 Ribye

Let me start by saying..I do not mind paying for good food and service...but when I pay $68 for a ribeye I don't expect it to be tough and hard to chew, it looked so appealing but was So very disappointing! My husband ordered the elk tenderloin and it was tender, but small and good! The service was not good, when I pay $200 plus a tip I expect my glass to stay full and not to have to wait 30 minutes to pay my tab! Server was very nice but just not attentive.

The beer selection offers something for just about everyone, and the food was good overall. Nothing completely wowed me, but everything was decently prepared. The bison burger was pretty dry and you can't pick how you wanted it cooked so that was a miss. The service was friendly throughout despite how busy they were.

Watching tourists here is a kick in the pants as they are glued to catching moments of "living western" on their phones. The three elk smashed sliders with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese were accompanied with PERFECT, CRUNCHY, PIPING HOT RINGS. This place is attached to the Virginian Lodge complex which is a pretty cool place to stay overall. There's a little gift shop, a burger joint, the saloon, a pool, hot tub, all sorts of little amenities. So this saloon is one part of this whole lodge experience. Immediately, we liked the laid back ambiance with lots of sofas and comfie chairs to hang out with a small group of people. We sat at the bar. For us, the vibe and casual, kickback ambiance was a five star for what we were looking for (which was that). We ordered two appetizers which were maybe about average: the hatch pepper queso was not as good as the Pace queso from the jar that we had just had a week prior. The chicken tenders were typical bar tenders, nothing special. Basic fries. So the food was struggling to score a three star. The thing about the service was that it could have been much better but because of the early hour we seemed to be sort of the warm up customers. One bartender was in training so while he greeted us he was promptly dismissed by the main bartender who alternated between being the best and the worst bartender you might have. When you're two of three people at the bar and there's only five people in the whole place you might expect to get more conversation from the barkeep since we were out of towners and looking forward to hearing about the local scene. Nope. I guess you could say it was mainly our high expectation of having a friendly bartender but ended up feeling sort of like a bar seat. This was at a very low ebb in the season as well as the day so I can't imagine that the experience would improve with more people. As with all things, it's all about expectation. If you don't expect a great bartender, and don't expect great food you might come away pleased with the venue. But no dark on tap so don't expect that either.

The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut.
