HIDDEN GEM! This is a cute little bar tucked away on the corner of Dobbins and 7th Ave., I've never been here until today. I asked the bartender for something sweet, and she did not disappoint. I'm not sure what I got, but it's really delicious and tastes like a popsicle! They play pretty good music here. I wasn't here very long, but I will definitely return with more people and have a party here!

"LOVE THE BARTENDER; SUPER NICE" This bar has pool tables; has plenty of tables low lighting has karaoke and sports playing on the TVS. The bartender can make any drink you can possibly imagine and she is super sweet and is very nice to talk to you! She has great recommendations. They have a breathalyzer here so you don't drink while driving they also have a pretty good bar menu with lots of choices. Would I come back yes I would. Tips for management: please make sure you wipe down the tables more frequently because everywhere I put my hands it was sticky.

The restaurant is very nice, from what I can see there is plenty of seating inside, the decor is nicely done and up to date, while sitting every plate that went by looked pretty good so we looked over the menu and ordered, I had the Red Beef w/ Beans Burrito Enchilada Style and Jen had the Chili Reno with Rice & Beans, along with Chips & Salsa. Everything was delicious only wish I'd shared with Jen as we usually do as I wasn't able to finish all mine as well as Jen. Service was good and was given the run down on specials etc. We miss the old Ponchos Mexico Buffet as they have all closed here in Az. There are a few left but are located in Texas, so stop by and try Poncho's it's not the Buffet but you will leave full & satisfied. Adios Amigo's

Server very quickly delivered a basket of chips & a squirt bottle of excellent salsa. Reviews here are mixed for the flagship Pollo Fundido, so I ordered that with rice & beans. Had an initial intention of getting a dessert later, but my main course did me in. The Pollo Fundido is filled only with chicken, and plenty of it, so it's a good protein bomb if that's what you seek. However, the deep fry & the melted jalapeño cream cheese teamed up to give the mouthfeel a dusty finish. That squirt bottle salsa helped remedy this, but I think on my next visit I'll try another dish. Overall, the experience was comfortable & efficient, and I want to like Poncho's, but I need to find their offering -- other than that salsa -- that's going to keep me coming back.

My Yelp bestie Ariana and I recently had dinner at Top of the Rock at the Marriott Phoenix Resort…read moreTempe at The Buttes. The biggest draw is definitely the view. We arrived in time for sunset, and it did not disappoint. Watching the sunset over the Phoenix skyline made for a beautiful evening, and the restaurant itself has a unique atmosphere. We had a 7:30 reservation and were checked in right on time, we were seated outside, but there was very little shade, and unfortunately it was a hot, humid, and windy evening, so it wasn't the most comfortable dining experience. Our server, Sergio, was friendly, but we had to ask several times for water refills. One of the highlights before the meal was the complimentary bread service. The bread and butter were delicious, and the staff member who brought it out took the time to explain each item on the board which was a nice touch. The food was good. The 8 oz filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was the highlight of the meal, tender, flavorful, and worth ordering. We had enjoyed the desserts. The chocolate mousse was rich and creamy, and the Pavlova was light, fresh, and beautifully presented with berries. That said, the outdoor seating wasn't quite as relaxing as we expected. It was pretty windy the evening we visited, which made dining outside a little uncomfortable. The resort Pool is directly below the patio, and there happened to be a party going on, so there was quite a bit of noise. The restaurant also overlooks the freeway. Traffic wasn't heavy during our visit, but I imagine the road noise and air quality could be more noticeable during busier times. Overall, if you are looking for a scenic dinner with a memorable sunset, top of the rock is worth visiting. Just be prepared for the weather if you sit outside and know that the ambiance can depend on what's happening around the resort. The steak alone is reason enough to come back.

Hostesses and dining room staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Unfortunately, the kitchen had an off night. Free valet parking is available (tips appreciated) and they do have a handicap ramp, but it's a long walk and it wraps clear around the restaurant. We were told that there was an elevator from the downstairs event area, however the door was locked, so we ended up taking our time and my 93-yo mother-in-law walked up the multiple level of stairs. DRINKS: We tried the non-alcoholic Basil & Lemons ($12) and a Berry Limeade ($16.50). Both drinks looked great, were well made, and tasty. Nice cocktail menu and a decent wine list. Unfortunately, I didn't hear if they had a corkage fee or allowed you to bring in your own bottles. FOOD: Kenny waited on us and the service was excellent (5 stars). He started us out with some complementary bread, including cornbread and focaccia with two different types of butter. We chose to share the Oyster Rockefeller ($21), which comes with five pieces and then for our entrées, we had the Calabrian Shrimp Toasts ($19), the Seared Duck Breast ($46) with Shiitake mushrooms and a blackberry glaze, and the Black Truffle Scallops & Risotto ($51) with wild mushrooms. The oysters came out shortly after our cocktails, and they were delicious. The issue was that the kitchen must have forgotten my scallops, as we waited about 45 minutes (maybe more) for our entrées. When they finally arrived, my scallops were fresh off the grill and hot, but the shrimp toast and duck were barely warm. It seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. My wife sent her duck back to be reheated, and unfortunately it didn't really make it that much warmer, and it cooked it a little past the medium rare temperature she requested. I will say that Kenny apologized for the long wait and comped us a dessert. We tried the French Opéra Cake ($16) which was amazing! The scallops & risotto were delicious, and the shrimp was good, but the duck dish was sorely lacking. Overall, we had an okay experience, and I hope it was just a fluke night for the kitchen. I would return and give them another try, as the service and most of our food and drinks were good. In better weather, I'd like to try the outdoor deck, as the views in the evening are spectacular!

Unfortunately, my repeated experiences with Valerie have gotten to the point where I feel ownership needs to be aware of it. On multiple occasions while Valerie was bartending, I noticed drinks on my tab that were not mine. Whether this was carelessness or a mistake, it has happened enough times that I now feel like I have to carefully check my bill whenever she serves me. That alone is incredibly frustrating. Beyond that, Valerie has consistently been rude, disrespectful, dismissive, and easily flustered during my interactions with her. I even had another bartender mention to me that Valerie apparently doesn't like me because there was an occasion when I didn't tip her. For context, I regularly tip bartenders and service staff. I made the decision to stop tipping Valerie specifically because of the way I have repeatedly been treated by her. At this point, the difference in my experience at Bleachers depending on whether Valerie is working is night and day. When she isn't behind the bar, I genuinely enjoy coming here. When she is, I already know what kind of service I'm likely going to receive. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've spoken with other people around Ahwatukee who have independently described having issues with a bartender at Bleachers who is "always rude" or "always in a bad mood." That tells me my experience may not be an isolated one. Valerie, if you happen to read this, understand that the way you treat customers directly affects how people view the entire establishment. Bartending is a customer-service position, and customers shouldn't feel like they are an inconvenience simply for ordering a drink. Bleachers ownership, please do better. You have an establishment with a lot of potential, and I actually enjoy coming here. But consistently poor service from select bartenders can ruin the reputation of an otherwise good neighborhood bar. I shouldn't have to check who is working before deciding whether I want to come in and spend my money.
