We ventured into this fine dive cash only establishment on recommendatio from a great salesman at Shoot the bull cue store based on the allure of 25 cent tables. They also have 4 tables so unless really busy its easy to play. I dont normally like cash only but my wife recently won a lot at the casino so I would rather keep it in my wallet than her dumping it back into the slot machine They have a great long square horseshoe bar with plenty of seats and reasonable prices on drinks. Got 2 mich ultras on a saturday afternoon for $8. They also have red bull in tap which may taste better in a side by side contest with a can. On our first visit, the Fire Depeartment made a showing to cart someone away to an ambulance so that told me these people know how to party. The waitress was a little dismissive but I did mention my wife had syphilis and was taking antibiotics so she couldn't drink. Pool table was open but there didnt seem to be a lot of people looking to challenge others on to visits. I did notice there was a large Native American presence which I notice a lot in that area of town, but never really found out why. In our second visit all tables were full so we both put our name on the white board but only my wife managed to play. Multiple people said they were next despite the writing on the wall. Eventually a couple left and we got our own table to play to our hearts content. I didnt see anyone eating food, so dont plan on curbing a hangover if you get to drunken or get the munchies. The bar tender for our second goaround was a real go getter with a smile and made us feel welcome. He really hustled to everyone in the bar running the place solo and still having time to chat and watch some pool festivities. We did have some guy hit on my wife despite the aforementioned syphilis and another seemingly alcoholic regular made an introduction tableside and looked a lot like the guy getting the ambulance ride the last time we were there. Last but not least they have karaoke on Thursday and Slayer in the juke box with a great sound system. Only really negatives were cash only for when my wife loses all our money at the casino, one brusuqe bartender, no food, and the patrons that knew each other stuck with the regulars for the most part and didnt openly invite or take on new billiards challengers. read more

Don't plan on going here for your 21st birthday. We walked into this bar to celebrate my boyfriend's 21st birthday, and right away people were offering to buy him drinks. When we tried to order at the bar, the bartender told us he couldn't serve my boyfriend because he had to wait until the day after his birthday. When I asked whose rule that was, he claimed it was state law and began Googling it. He didn't show us anything, and when I asked if he could check with a manager, he disappeared into another room. When he came back, he repeated that he couldn't serve us. There was clearly a language barrier, but he continued to say he couldn't serve my boyfriend because "his birthday was on the 27th and today was the 27th." We were confused and frustrated, but decided to stay and play a round of pool that we had paid for. A few minutes later, he came over again and told us we had to leave and come back at midnight. At that point, we asked for our money back and left. It was a really disappointing end to what should've been a fun and memorable night. If it's truly the bar's policy, fine but he never once said that. Instead, he argued with us about a "state law" that clearly isn't enforced. Our friends had celebrated another friend's 21st birthday at this same bar a month earlier and were served with no problem. For a dive bar, this place is amazing. Cheap drinks and cheapest pool in town. Everyone was really nice and friendly. We were offered free hotdogs even, which is great during a night of carousing. I didn't see any fights or police and it was pretty crowded. We will definitely be back and enjoy the hospitality and atmosphere again. read more

Tonight I walked into join my father who was playing billiards was told I could not enter by the bartender and the bar manager who told me he had the right to refuse service to anyone. I had with me my service animal. When I said my dog was a service animal they told me it didn't matter and that the owners policy is no animals. I again explained and showed his service leash and again was told no. I will and have already began filing a formal compliant with the Federal ADA Civil Rights Division along with both local and state business bureau. Discrimination against a person with a disability is not something anyone should take lite and it is 100% disappointing when someone tells you that it doesn't matter what the law is. If I was this business owner, I would be embarrassed that the staff used me as an excuse to not following federal civil rights. I will be sharing this on all social media platforms to make everyone aware how uneducated those who work at this establishment are of others rights. read more

Oh Snap of OLD..... how I miss thee! So, I USED to be a regular when I lived around the corner. There is ALWAYS great competition at the pool tables. Most of the patrons are nice and chatty. Drinks have always been crazy cheap and they have 2 for 1's. Okay, I have been back twice recently. Here we go: Trip A: I arrived after 9pm ready for some drinkin and some shootin' (pool that is.) The first thing that I noticed was that the bouncer guy was behind the bar making drinks. (This same guy tried to kick me out before because I stopped drinking after 3 beers and wouldn't order another. The owner knew me THEN as a regular and told me that I could stay.) Anywho.... I put that as far back in my mind as it could fit and ordered a drink. He made it pretty strong, pretty fast, AND I received a shot glass to which meant that I had another free drink coming... for 5 bucks??? ALL IS FORGIVEN. I went over and marked my name on the chalkboard for the pool table and waited. Wasn't too bad of a wait, but bring your on cue... these ones need a bit of tlc. I went up to the karaoke dj (who was also playing dance music) and requested a song. The first 2 times he didn't even acknowledge my presence and when he finally did, he pointed at his tip jar before he'd even HEAR my request. Last I checked, people EARN tips... shot pool and got tipsy for the rest of the night. Trip B: Arrived with a good friend. She was loving the atmosphere at first. We ordered drinks (same great drink specials... never fails.) Same great competition at the pool tables. But..... unfortunately the SAME dj. Ugh. We went over to request karaoke songs. Found some good ones, she TIPPED him and we asked how long. "Bout 15 minutes" was the reply. An hour and a HALF later, she goes to check on the songs. He doesn't have them.... he doesn't have them? No. Huh??? I go over and ask what happened. This time I ACTUALLY PAID ATTENTION and this man was UBER DRUNK. Looking at the mixed up slips of paper in front of him like they were some kind of undecipherable code... I asked AGAIN after sifting through the ALREADY played songs and finding our slips, "how long?" He looks at me (I'm sure he saw 3 of us) and says "no more. Karaoke's over." Mmmmmmkay. I went back to shoot my last game before we went to another place with a SOBER dj, and can you guess what happened as I was racking??? Yup karaoke all over the speakers. I used to love you, Snap. The security guy changed his tone and has been awesome since that incident.... please find another dj. read more

So, we rolled in here one night, basically, because we were already a bit tipsy, and it was close to the house. I was a bit nervous, because it seems to me, every time I drive by, there are cop cars outside. Imagine my surprise, when we entered, to find the place was a) jam-packed b) with indians, and c) playing good music (if you like Journey). As we spent some more time there, we also found that the crowd was really friendly -- at least to us -- apparently the cops cars are there often because of fights. We chatted up everyone around us, and they, us. Bonus, the drinks were dirt cheap. I'm glad we had the liquid courage to take that chance. Now we have a cool neighborhood bar to stop by that's near home. read more

This is just a little neighborhood bar that has $6 pitchers of beer. It was kind of packed but we still found a spot by the pool tables. It is kind of a Native American hangout spot, and I have to thank Eddie for the blessing he gave us. The staff was on point and I watched as half a dozen people got throw out throughout the night. No real big problems because as soon as one started, security took care of it. It may be better to keep this spot in mind for some day drinking rather then a night out. read more

Being a NA and hanging out in Phoenix, obviously I've been to "SNAPs". I always heard fellow Natives talking about this place like it's some kind of mecca that I should take a pilgrimage to. So when I stopped by for the first time I was not impressed at all. I came here multiple times at the hands of friends and I can't recall a time I ever had fun. The most annoying things about this place are the cash only policy, the bathroom line, the space, the music, rude regulars, and the guards. The last straw for me was when a few of my friends went there and got mased by one of the employees' bf after a woman tried to instigate a fight with one of my friends when she saw her bf looking at her. I've been a patron of The Snap Lounge since Fall 2004. It's a small place and has been constantly changing for the better through the years. There was a big renovation that expanded the area that used to be a bathroom into a dance floor. They also have huge flat screen tv's to watch the games on including the cable sports package. I've met so many good and hard working people there and I don't understand why people complain or have negative things to say. The one thing they all share in common..."CHEAP DRINKS". They should also mention that billiards are only 25 cents a game everyday. Jack M. was probably one of the "drunks" there on new years eve. It is a bar and people do drink and get tipsy. Also, there was staff there serving the main dishes for the dinner and it was Fry's chicken, not KFC. Dee M. the news was incorrect that the fight was inside the bar, it happened off the property after the bar closed. My friend and I went to The Snap from a referral from our lyft driver. The outside atmosphere had good vibes, however when we got inside it was very different. First, the bartender only accepted cash so we had to use the ATM at one point. Second, the music was on so loud that we had to yell to (keep in mind there were only two of us)one another when we were conversing. It was so loud in this place that my ears are still ringing. I wanted to yell at the DJ to turn the music down but I'm sure he wouldn't have even heard us. Unacceptable for a place that looked super divey and fun to hang out at.
