Even though online it says they're "OPEN" at 9 a.m., in reality they open whenever the grandma in the back decides to take her time and finish what she's doing. My friend, her daughter, and I stood outside repeatedly knocking on the door, watching them look at us without having the decency to come and tell us they needed a few more minutes since they weren't opening on time. We couldn't even get that basic communication. It's sad to see so many Haitian businesses come to Lehigh just to FAIL over the basics. NEVER AGAIN. You're better off going home to make your own breakfast or going to Mickey D's. I'm highly disappointed.

I believe this was the former Andy's Cuban Restaurant but a new owner made an expansion and upgrade. Now it is Jacmel's Caribbean! I asked if they have Ke Bef or (Haitian Oxtails). They normally serve this daily but not today. I quickly select Kabrit (a marinated fried goat) with a salad, plantains and bean and rice. The salads are fresh. The goat meat was tasty and full of flavor. The bean and rice combination were amazing seasoned and the plantains just hit the spot. Well worth the drive just for Jacmel's Caribbean! The staff is super friendly and more than happy to answer question you have. We already plan out our next dinner selections like Groit Kochon, Ke Bef, Lumbi, and more! Today I had a conversation with a sweet Haitian couple who left shortly after I was told there are no sweet plantains, which for ANY meal coming from a Jamaican restaurant is a necessity. Their quality of food is slowly declining and the amount they give is the result of cutting corners and the economy having issues. I asked for Oxtail but it'll ready in 30 minutes, so I opted for the Curry Goat with rice and bean and a little salad. The curry and goat meat are so flavorful and savory that I couldn't stop once I started. I ordered a Sorrel Ginger, this is popular Hibiscus Tea brewed with ginger root by House Jamaican Pastry. What a combination of tart, floral notes from the Hibiscus and a little spicy kick from the ginger.
