This place used to be good. Now it tasted like store bought food re-purposed and was severely overpriced

My wife and I were having dinner at the Rib City location off Daniels Parkway. While the food itself was good, we witnessed what appeared to be unfair treatment of a staff member. An older man was loudly and aggressively yelling at an employee, demanding that they return to the kitchen to get food for another table--even though those guests had already received their meals. His tone was very unpleasant and demanding, and it drew the attention of multiple diners in the restaurant. The interaction felt inappropriate and uncomfortable to witness. The man appeared to possibly have been drinking, which made the situation even more concerning. Situations like this reflect poorly on the overall dining experience and how staff are supported on the floor. read more

This place is a joke. Baby back ribs are the size of baby carrots. Side orders come in the cups you usually reserve for condiments. St. Louis ribs are so dry I chocked trying to swallow a bite! Corn was 2 inches long! This place is ridiculous! read more

Was referred here by a work colleague, it didn't disappoint. I had the "pick-three" entree with a sweet tea. My food was amazing and the sauces great - ask for the hot sauce, it's good and not on the table. I went during lunch and though it was busy, my server was on her game. You know it's a good spot when you walk in and there's five FHP troopers eating there (they don't have time for bad food). I also loved the artwork and the other decor - worth a visit! read more

I really appreciated the precautions they were taking here -- their sauces are no longer on the table, but pre-packaged in plastics containers with lids. All employees were wearing masks, and they did a decent job sitting tables further apart. As for the food, I can never complain about it. I always order their hot chicken tenders and three cheese fries with their amazing spicy ranch. This time, we decided to get a baby back ribs lunch plate as well. As advertised, the meat really is tender and falls off the bone without silverware. I have found that this location is a little frugal with their fries -- they give just enough the cover the plate -- but they still taste amazing! read more

Had lunch today with some of my fellow staff members at Rib City off Plantation Blvd. Of course the three of us started with cheesy fries, a must. The half-rack I had was amazing and the corn on the cob so damn fresh! Our server was great and made sure my tea was never empty and had such a pretty smile. I'll be back! read more

Food is usually good, but I have had dry ribs on infrequent occasions. Onion rings and egg rolls are solid appetizers. Service is friendly, and frequently stretched thin. Very helpful, even when stressed. read more

I've never dined in but a few occasions have craved BBQ. The front of the restaurant the staff is always pleasant. The restaurant is very casual and appears to have many regulars. This is probably the 7 Rib City I have been to. This time just get the take out. I got two full slab. The order was ready but no one at the front to allow me to pick up. Finally got it paid and pick up. The rib here have good enough rib size. But the grilled technique is not the best among all the rib city. Server was very good. I ordered the three meat combo with chicken brisket and smoked turkey. The chicken is pink on the inside, the turkey is lunch meat. But the shrimp appetizer is very good with the butter sauce on the side. The manager came over and apologize for everything. Rib City is OK. It is not great, and considering how many BBQ restaurants there are around the Lee County area (Smokin' Pit in No. Ft. Myers, Mission BBQ on 41), even with Sonny's shutting down, I would choose someplace else. The baby backs are flavorful, but spindly, not meaty at all, and the combo plates are over-priced for what you get. The sides are OK. The cole slaw is excellent, but the beans are much like those that come out of a can (more thin gravy than beans), the garlic toast is nothing exciting. Still, I judge good BBQ by the baby backs, so I give this place a 2, partly because the people working there are great people, very attentive. But I will go elsewhere for BBQ. read more

We given this restaurant several chances. Whenever I call in to order, the girl is not friendly. Second they have a price for a package of ribs and than they add 5 plus dollars for their stuff. Really they need to just put the money directly on what it should be. It's annoying. The slaw is always delicious. The ribs are always cold, dry and barely have any meat on the bones. The pulled pork was good. But I'm really sick of ordering ribs there and they are always skimpy, dry, and cold. We are going to try somewhere else. This is close to where we live, but it never fails. First time here last night...was seated immediately. Food was great, place was clean and people were cleaning when I was there. Sierra did a great job and she had multiple tables. Manager came over and checked in on each table, I appreciate that. Baby back ribs were great. Two dinners, dessert , non alcoholic drinks all for 42.00 good value. Only bad thing was the coconut cream pie. It was gross. Sort of frozen, tasted really artificial, pitched after one bite. Todsy was my day off of work and doing errands day. For lunch we met up at Rib City in both ordered chicken strips fries and coleslaw. Everything came out quickly and was great for a lunch time to go. I guess you would call us regulars, and the reason that I am doing giving them give stars are solely based on the french fries. Have you ever had french fries that seem like they've been sent around for a while? This time I was a little disappointed but everything else was delicious. Hopefully next time I am there the french fries will be more up to par. But I would not change anything else! read more

At JetBlue Park last week, we enjoyed a catered night of BBQ prepared and served by Rib City. This was not the first time I enjoyed a catered BBQ by Rib CIty, but due to their consistency and good quality I felt it was time to provide a review. Pork Ribs were fall off the bone delicious when paired with any of the sauces that satisfied your taste. The Pulled pork was moist and hot and the sides of green beans and slaw were freshly prepared. Even the cookies and brownie bites were fresh and plentiful. The only negative is why no cornbread and only rolls? Any one knows that cornbread is properly paired with BBQ..even those of us from the north. Next year I will certainly look forward to Rib City BBQ at JetBlue Park again. read more

Ribs were extremely good! Came with three different sauces. The sliced beef I had was cool and very chewy. Not very good. Over all it's just another Rib City. My recommendation would be to "pig out" on the ribs and not order the other sides. read more

My wife and I needed a quick business lunch at 1:00 on 8/12. The Rib City on Plantation met my low expectations based on past visits to other Rib Cities. The Manager was not dressed professionally. Our server, Keara, was nice and attentive and wearing a mask. We ordered a beef plate and a chicken plate with a side salad. The salads were very nice with fresh ingredients. Later we got billed $2.49 each for an up salad. The chicken quarter was warm and tasty. Nicely seasoned. The corn cob had a long soak to remove natural fresh sweetness. The sliced beef was quite rare and only warm with a nice smoke flavor. Our server said they usually reheat the beef on a grill and asked if we wanted to send it back. We requested brisket as a substitute. It arrived well done, dry and warm with no flavor. The Texas Toast was good. The Manager did not appear when requested, apparently hid in the office. Perhaps other locations have better product but I haven't found it. read more

The best part was the cheesy and bacon waffle fries. Very tasty. Went down hill after that. I had the lunch special. Smoked turkey breast with green beans and Mac and cheese. The green beans were a bit soggy and the Mac and cheese was bland and tasted like hospital food. Overall the turkey breast was cold. This place is a hit or miss. read more

There is no way that they boil the ribs as I read in a past review , They are always smoked and slow cooked because the meat inside is smokey flavor, redish , tender and fall off the boat. Also for $18 you get a slab and a half which is about the total of the slab. They are small but you get what you pay for TRUE BABY BACK RIBS the key word " baby" .... We've eaten in multiple rib city locations and all but one has been very good, that was up in Madeira Beach near St. Pete beach .... In the past I've added shrimp as a side? You may want toStay away from the fried shrimp they are not that good they are small. Rib City is one of my go-to lunch options and this knocked it out of the park! Our server, Angela, was attentive, polite, and went above and beyond to make our lunch enjoyable. The restaurant itself was clean and fairly quiet, even at 12:30. All the staff seemed happy and ready to assist with any of the guests needs. This was sort of an all round disappointment. The rib tips seemed ok at first bite then I realized how dry they were and the only moist part was the sauce which was served with their mustard BBQ, not my fav. The fries were indescribably not good due to the fact that they were barely warm. Ribs not served warm either. The corn was good. The iced tea was a little off somehow but I drank a good portion of the glass to wash down the ribs, which I didn't finish, in hopes that the waitress would come back for a refill and I could get a coke instead. She never did. In fact a huge group came in and even tho there were plenty of waitresses around my waitress had to take care of the whole table single handily. So I was left to wait and wait for my check and when I just went to the leave and get it and pay from the front, the hostess said I'd have to take care of it at the table.. after explaining as politely as possible the waitress was busy could she get my check for me and take care of it, it took 5 more minutes for the manager I think to come tell me the same thing and without apology tell me she was busy with a large table. Really going down hill. Live in highland pines estates, so we go they often. I believe the owner is a neighbor . Food was ok, but not as good as it use to be. They always seem to leave something off the order. Call an order ahead and every time we pick it up we wait the full time, like we didn't call the order in.
