This course is pretty killer. It meanders through the trees and around sinkholes and is very challenging at times.

The claytons…read moreis a professionally cut and maintained course right outside of Knoxville tn. that has everything you might want out of a disc golf course taken care of. Here's the list: 1) claytons is the size and quality of an actual golf course, maintained for disc golfers. 2) there are dedicated AstroTurf tee off pads at the start of each hole 3) there are detailed course maps available at the start of each pin with par, total distance, and a and b markers clearly labeled 4) there is a creative expanse of different shots to be made on a course that has plenty of open space and winds around through both forest and park like setting, the full course is huge 5) creative liberties taken on some holes--especially 18. The course was still under construction (front 9 in forest) and so I only played the back 9 in the park. Playing just half of the course still delivered a full and five star experience as this was the best course that I have ever been too. Definitely try to be back to try out the whole course!

You can find Yahoola Creek Park at 464 Mechanicsville Rd Dahlonega, GA 30533 - this is on the…read moredownward east slope from downtown Dahlonega and about a mile from campus. You could probably walk it but the elevation change might be extreme for those that aren't fit. There's parking at the main trail entrance and a small parking pull-off west on Mechanicsville Dr. I had no issues parking at the main lot which also has public restrooms. I traveled to Dahlonega for a wedding held at Wolf Mountain Vineyards and decided to leave early and get my bearings (also check in at the local IHG/Holiday Inn Express and get cleaned up). This hike was right up my ally - close to the Hotel, about 3 miles and not too strenuous. It's mapped as: Yahoola Creek Reservoir Trail" - facing the main parking lot it's North - to the left side with the restrooms to the South side. It's marked on maps as the "red trail" at 3.1 miles. The trail starts with a gravel path until you get around the low areas then climbs upward under a leafy canopy moving clockwise around the lake. You get the typical elevation changes as you move through small hollars, then a ridgeline (you can see the lake through the trees) continuing around until you get to the mouth of the creek (lowest point) - there's a swing that probably gave you a great view before all the Kudzu took over. Moving around you get back to another low area where you can get down to the water for a view, before coming onto the dam (you walk across it) and back to the parking area. There's an optional blue trail that adds 1.7 miles that I would have taken if I had more time. In all, quite a lovely hike with only a couple of elevation points that some might find strenuous but no hard rocks/boulders to overcome. Those in Dahlonega are very lucky to have this resource - I'll be exploring the other trails the next time I'm in the area.

This is a review for the disc golf park. I totally understand it's the day after Thanksgiving, but…read moreyour website should reflect that hours change AFTER a major holiday. Me and a few buddies drove a couple hours to get to the disc golf park and my one buddy showed up early (10:15a ish). He met a gentleman at the gate who said the park isn't open until maybe later in the afternoon. (Website says 8a-sunset) The guy said he was the only one there and he couldn't be bothered to sit outside while we played disc golf. Ummmm what? We don't need you to sit outside or babysit us? What is it that you think we're going to do that you need to watch us play disc golf? I will NEVER go there again. Mind you, I did call and was told it would be open. Then I called a couple days before and of course, no answer. Highly do NOT recommend traveling a good distance to go there. Also, if they're going to hire some one who can't be "bothered" to help, maybe they hired the wrong person. PSA: don't work in the SERVICE industry if customer SERVICE annoys you
