This made the tip we left through Fare Harbor feeling like a misleading sale. The real problem came with the lack of equipment in operational condition. We rented 2 kayaks and could not find 2 with properly working seats. The majority of life jackets were mildewed and there was no one present to speak with. We came back after about 10 minutes on the river. I would recommend finding another outfitter.

Nice Short Hike And Nature Visit…read more Located in a residential neighborhood you park at the 90 degree curve in the road across from a house. There are signs... This is probably just under a mile each way to wiggle through the woods and down to the creek. Follow the water flow maybe 800' and you shall find the waterfall. Almost across from the trail that brings you to the creek is a little hill with a small trail that brings you to a good viewpoint on a rock ledge to see the falls from a better angle than straight down. I am not sure if a different trails brings you to the bottom of the fall, maybe rappelling down is the easier way... What are you waiting for? Take a hike!

Falling water falls trail is an out and back trail that has a trail head that can be found in a…read moresmall neighborhood with just a few parking spots at the trail entrance. This is marked by a small brown sign (in our case, on this day the sign was covered with trash). We came here on a day of outdoor adventures, coming from Prentice Cooper state forest, taking several "scenic" routes and finally finding a parking spot at the entrance. When we walked this trail, which truly is a 0.3 mile slightly downhill to flat trail, there was only one other family on this trail, making it pretty isolated, but also making the views all the more sweeter. Here's the thing...maybe it was the extreme and relentless heat this summer or the lack of rain, but as we continued to walk down the trail, neither of us could hear water! Sadly, we didn't hear any water because on this day, there was none. The falls were dry, being limited to a trickle. There are photos of the falls that look lovely. With this said, even if the falls were running at full capacity, you would be looking at them from the top of the falls, not head on. You would have to come at it from below to see that. If the falls were running, instantly this is a 5 star review for me. Because it was dry,i'm only giving it 4 stars, because it still was pretty to look at, and a nice walk overall. The address listed for Falling Water falls trail puts you right near the parking lot. I don't think this is a residential address, although there are homes directly across from the lot. I'd highly recommend coming here after it has rained a few times or at least one heavy time. I'll have to come back myself when it does!

Fun, Variety Filled, Good Sized Park…read more This was our first trip here and this is a really great park! Lots of slides, different types of swings, playground platforms and activities, Merry go round, even a 4 person side by side teater totter! I like the cool metal slides the most, you don't seems them anymore that often but they are the best in my opinion. They also have gym rings, a rocking boat, monkey bars and lots of other stuff too! This is a great spot! - 1 Star: The only downside here is that the gazebo/picnic structures seems to have suffered roof damage years ago and now the wood is rotting since it didn't get fixed so before long it will be super expensive to repair when it would have been comparatively inexpensive to fix earlier. It's a bummer those were left to disrepair so long.

Potentially can create a sharp cut if you child unknowingly falls or steps on different areas. The Walking track is nice at 1/4 mile and rarely crowded provides a nice run. However if you're like me and want something with a tad bit more scenery there's a path that runs from the park to the area behind Walgreens on Battlefield Pkwy. Several shelters are set up through out the park for birthdays, parties, or Halloween costume parties which I have seen recently.

Pioneer Frontier Park has something for kids of all ages. Slides and things to climb on for toddlers. Bigger slides and things to climb on for your older kids. Swings for all sizes, and even a kid powered merry go round. Let's not forget the fence enclosed splash pad, which is great for keeping wet kids in and dry kids out. The equipment is in excellent condition, and the grounds are clean. The only slight drawback is that the play area is covered with mulch instead of recycled tire, so a fall is a little more painful.

We actually spotted this location when we were beginning our journey and I took a screenshot of our…read morelocation and when we were driving back through I recognized it and so we stopped. I'm really glad that we took the time to spend a few hours and even spend the night here. This is a really beautiful lake to be able to have a very calm and relaxing time. There are a lot of folks doing night fishing but they do a pretty good job of not shining their lights into the camping area where the tent campers are at. We camped with our tent about 15 ft from the river and it was lovely. The day we arrived was a little bit tricky because we stopped and inquired about camping and we were told if there was not a tent, then the spot was available and to pitch our tent come back and tell him the site #, pay the fee. We did that. But when we got back he said "oh except for that spot". So then we had to move our tent over one spot, however nobody showed up in the spot that we were at that night or the next day so not sure what happened there. But when it was all said and done we had a nice little corner all to ourselves. This is definitely a place that is very convenient to get to off of interstate 24 and if you are on a road trip I would definitely recommend stopping and paying $15 to park there for the night. They also have on the other side of the island an area for RV parking. $30 rate per night, however you can rent an RV spot for a month for $500 and it includes water electric and there is a dump station. Oh! And there is a bathhouse. There is 2 men's rooms with toilet sink and shower, and there is 2 women's rooms with toilet sink and shower. The use of these facilities is included in the camping rate. If you were just here for a day trip there is a really nice boat ramp as well as on the other side there is a park area that is available for use during the day and there are picnic tables and a swimming area that looks really nice. We launched our kayak off of our campsite and went around the lake over to the Tennessee River. When you get to the Tennessee River if you take a left (SW), there is a beautiful cliff face that has birds singing very loudly and it's just stunning. If instead, you go to the right, there is another large area with a big lake and if you look forward and a little to your left (SE) you might see a train going by in the distance.

The park itself is very nice with a huge lake. Do note we decided to get a spot directly on the lake side since there was a ton of open spots. However I would recommend staying away from the spots at the edge of the lake. There are a lot of geese here and apparently they take quite large and nasty poops... the edge of the lake is covered in geese poop... you learn something new everyday. Other than that it's lovely. Only water and electric although there is a dump station.

A course in comparable condition in my area (upstate SC) would run in the upper $40's. Very demanding from the blue tees. Its located inside a upper scale subdivision (one of those places that had planned to be 'gated' but there's no guard at the gate).
