She's working on scaring from a facial dog bite. I've used Retin-A, which every one knows was first used for pock mark scaring. The dog tore my upper lip in two last year. I'm terribly embarrassed at the unevenness and scar. But Leslie has made a huge difference. Tenacious woman and compassionate. My surgeon said if he re-cut the area I may end up with just another scar. Something about looking good, really kicks off that feeling good. Beside that. I'm not going to take it with me. I spent $1000 with Leslie to laser two parts of my body. The hair is reduced but very insignificantly. My money is completely wasted and I now have to go to a different place and start over. I believe Leslie can do well with small areas like upper lip or chin. I don't recommend her for any bigger area. She is anxious and out of her comfort zone when she works on any bigger area and because she doesn't have the right training or even experience, she can't adjust her machine to cater to different areas. In addition to poor quality of work, I had a difficult time booking appointments with her. She doesn't work full time and leaves early and comes in late so as someone who has a job to do, my options to book appointments were very limited. I really enjoyed my experience at Renew. Leslie is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. She is very helpful in suggesting things as well. I've gotten a lot of hair removed, and have been to many places - most that I felt like a walking dollar sign to them. I have light skin and dark hair (apparently ideal for laser hair treatment) but after 8 sessions, I have no decrease in hair. Leslie is kind and personable but does not offer any kind of guarantee or any additional sessions for free and I feel like I've completely wasted my money. I've been going to The Skin and Laser Boutique for over a year and have treated multiple large surface areas. I have a hormonal issue that makes my hair incredibly coarse in addition to giving me severe skin irritation, so shaving was a nightmare for me. I found The Skin and Laser Boutique on Yelp back when it was still called Renew Skin and Laser. When I met Leslie for a consultation, she was very clear about the limitations of laser and how results varied depending on skin and hair type, as well as how imbalanced hormones could prevent permanent and absolute success. I appreciated how straight forward she is about remaining realistic with your expectations for treatments. She lets you know ahead of time that the average person needs six to ten treatments for any given area and that consistency is key. Something that really stood out to me was how much thought Leslie puts into the well being of her patients. She put a considerable amount of research into purchasing a laser that is effective and considerably less painful than other types of lasers on the market. She also applies a cooling gel first in an effort to make procedures as painless as possible. Leslie puts quite a bit of effort into making clients comfortable and I feel as though we've become friends after seeing her for so long. Her office is pleasant and clean and it's been very easy for me to book appointments with her in the past. I saw Leslie for sun spot removal. I have to say Leslie is very nice but the treatment (I have sun spots along my jaw line) didn't reallly make a difference. She acknowledged this and offered other treatments. I just think if you have sun damage along the jaw line (like I did) you might need a more powerful treatment. read more

I had one treatment at Renew Skin and Laser for sun spots on my face, hands and arms. After less than 2 weeks time, some of the spots on my face are completely gone and others are substantially lighter!! I am still waiting for the dead skin to completely slough off of my arms, but I am hopeful that I will also see an improvement, but do realize that I will need to go back for maintenance treatments as needed. I have wanted to do laser hair removal for YEARS but I was a chicken! I just had it in my head that it was going to be painful. So, I continued to get waxed. After 10 wasted sessions here, I have gotten much better results at a different salon, where I have been going regularly since. I thought this place was almost ok when I went there, but in retrospect it was only because I had no prior experience with laser hair removal. Now that I have experience with at least 3 other places, I can honestly say that Renew Skin and Laser does not measure up. There is only one machine available, and I have serious doubts about Leslie's training. I got a worrisome burn/rash several times when going to Renew Skin and Laser, and Leslie was completely clueless as to why. I have since found out the rash was due to her not using enough of the gel and/or it quickly drying out due to all the fans she kept around and pointed right at the area. I was told this is a common rookie mistakes in laser hair removal. So no, I would not recommend this place. Even if it was marginally cheaper, for me it was just wasted money. read more
