Back in 2020 it was time for a new mattress, however, prior to the Covid vaccines we were hesitant to go shopping. So it was with much anticipation that my hubby and I returned to the Sleep Shoppe where years prior we had a good experience and purchased our last mattress. Upon entering the store we were given covers to place on the respective pillows on each mattress we were testing out. Michael Berges was our salesperson. As we tried each mattress our questions were answered. We sought out a firm mattress. It was challenging to make an informed decision however, when Michael told us that the mattresses were refundable and could be returned within 30 days if for some reason it wasn't what we had in mind, that seemed like a good selling point. To us it seemed it very clear that we could exchange the mattress with ease. Fast forward, after a week I felt the mattress was too firm, felt as thought I was sleeping on the floor. I called the store and Michael told me the mattress will loosen up in time, it would be helpful to have our grandkids come over and jump on the mattress. Really? He then went on to tell me, ' Well, you liked it in the store ' . He also said much to our surprise that there was restocking fee which is 15% of the cost of the mattress. That's was news to me as well as to my hubby. Michael went on to say it was written on the back of my receipt. Maybe so I told him, however, it wasn't mentioned at the time. The only thing he had stressed to us was the ease of their return policy. Had we known about the restocking fee, we would have taken more time in making our choice. Neither my hubby nor myself heard about any restocking fee while we were there, that's for sure. So if you chose to shop here, make sure you get ALL the details about their return policy. Not happy about the way this transaction was handled and for that reason do not recommend The Sleep Shoppe. read more

Mattress/bed shopping can be frustrating and baffling. Different stores can have different names and model numbers (and far different prices) for the same beds. All that changed when we decided to limit our shopping for beds to The Sleep Shoppe. First of all, the place is literally a sea of beds. They are there for you to try out. They all have pillows. The sales people are knowledgeable and patient. Even with kids bouncing on beds in the background. Or, to be accurate, bouncing from bed to bed to bed. Having the sea of mattresses allows you to figure out what is really comfortable for you, physically and financially. The difference between a $1,200 and $5,200 bed seems like it should be vast, but it's really not, at least in the showroom. Maybe once you get it home. Anyway, all of the beds in our house are from The Sleep Shoppe. We are happy and returning customers! read more

I even recommended this store to a co-worker and he ended up buying a bed and other furniture. So now that it's time to replace my old mattress I came back to The Sleep Shoppe in Agoura Hills expecting the same level of service and prices and I was not disappointed. Michael was my salesperson. He was very professional and not pushy like some salespeople can be. He knew his products well and provided me with all the information that I wanted about each bed. He encouraged me to take all the time I needed to choose the best mattress for me and they have a large selection of beds so it did take me some time to make a selection. I'm a stomach sleeper and my boyfriend and I recently bought a temperpedic from another mattress store, let's just say as great as most people find them to be... I hated it, it wasn't the right place for me to lay my head at night. Quinn listened to my needs and after making her first suggestion I knew I was leaving happy. My wife and I bought an Aireloom twin mattress worth $539 for our 1st child, when he turned 2, back in 2010. We were extremely happy with the salesperson, Rudy, the mattress, and the delivery service. So, naturally, for our 2nd child, we went right back to Rudy, and asked for the exact same mattress. Unfortunately, Aireloom had stopped manufacturing that model, and the new model was 3x more expensive. So, we requested that Rudy look into special-ordering that original model from Aireloom. Rudy called up the manufacturer, got them to agree to produce the old model for us. The price had actually gone up $50, but Rudy kept his word, and sold it to us for the exact same price that he had sold it to us 3 years ago. I was helped by a really sweet guy who spent over 2 hours with me trying to help me find exactly what I wanted, which is not easy since I am probably the worlds most indecisive person. The customer service was great and I LOVE my new bed and dresser, but what I appreciated most was the fact that I told him I was on a pretty limited budget and not only did he work with me and find me an amazing mattress, but also when the guys came to deliver and set everything up for me, I went to pay them and they said it had been taken care of. If you're looking for a new mattress my recommendation is to go to the Sleep Shoppe and ask for Nate. Please note that their location is a little odd so don't be surprised when you pull into their driveway and at first can't see the building. It's there just a little further down the drive. Nate is very pleasant but not at all pushy. He first asked what my needs were and then directed me to a number of different options. I needed something that was soft but provided stability for my body. I needed a bed that slept cool. He took his time and listened to everything I said. When we entered the Sleep Shoppe in Agoura we were greeted by Michael who helped us navigate the bed buying choices. He was both professional and really nice! Best service I've ever had in any type of furniture store. Not only do I buy all of my bed frames and mattresses from here but so does my entire family and my wife's family as well. They worked with us to furnish several houses and always did their best to keep the cost to a minimum. The delivery went off without a hitch and the young salesman was very knowledgeable and kept us in the loop as to the process. I appreciate any family owned business that is able to maintain standards and prices exceeding that of the biggest chain while at the same time keeping small business alive in a corporate dominated America. Pretty disappointing. Too many mistakes and accidents for this to be all coincidental. 1. Instructed to come to the double doors to pick up my bedframe. Got there and knocked and knocked, no answer. Guy told me that he didn't realize I was coming he didn't hear me. 2. Was given 4 boxes extra that belonged to another order. 3. Sales person asked us to return 2 boxes (that is all he knew about then) so he could give it to his customer. We dropped what we were doing and brought them back. Nevermind that they would have charged us $40 to deliver to us. Rep said that he felt since we were coming back anyway to pick up another piece it shouldn't be a big deal for us to return the extra boxes. 4. When the rep did discover that there were actually another 2 boxes that we had, he offered to come pick them up after the store closed. We agreed. He was 20 minutes late to our home to pick up (on a Friday night). 5. One of the pieces that we received had a crack in it. Had to return. 6. When the rep did arrive 20 minutes late I told him that I was not satisfied with the service and quality of the merchandise I was receiving. He proceeded to defend all his actions and essentially pointed out that I was wrong in feeling how I was feeling. He then deferred to the rep who made the sale to me and walked away from me as I was still talking to him, replying that he was very busy and already late for the next place he had to go. 7. I did make arrangements for the replacement piece to be delivered, but it was going to be another week. The rep who delivered it was again about 15 minutes late when they finally got around to getting it to me. I give two stars because I feel that the rep who made the sale was trying to do the best he could to make it better. However, I don't feel anything was really done to provide exceptional service given the cascade of errors made. I finally put together the bed frame. Box says that it was made in Malaysia. I think it must have been engineered by a crackhead in Malaysia as well. Predrilled holes were on occasion too small and the bolts were soft as snot. So, I ended up stripping a couple before the project was done. 2 stars is generous in this case. read more

Worse than buying a car. Delivery is promised and than Gary calls and says the factory screwed up. So he gives you a new delivery date a week later. Day before delivery Mr. Logistics Gary calls and says factory screwed up again because of the holidays so now you get another delivery date a week later. At this point I cancelled the order. But it gets better because Gary was wrong, no surprise, and your bed was really ready for delivery??? Go figure? Does anybody their know what's going on? I recently found myself looking for a new mattress, and after a little research I found myself at the Sleep Shoppe in Agoura Hills. I'd seen the shop for year but never went in... no need to. But after waking up with some serious back pain a few days in a row, I decided it was time. Michael greeted me with a smile the moment I entered the door. He showed me many options and was super friendly the whole time. He helped me to find a QUALITY mattress that is super comfortable and in my price range. They seriously have mattresses for every price range. He recommended several that were good for stomach sleepers who needed something firm too. I found the perfect one for me. I was delivered the next day. Michael was the best! I needed his help the next day with one other minor issue I had and he was available and super responsive. Im so thankful for Quinn! I came in to the Sleep Shoppe in a panic after my toddler crawled out of her crib the night before. I needed a mattress ASAP to move on to a "big girl bed" as the crib was no longer safe for her. Quinn showed me my options. I noted that I wanted a comfortable mattress that wouldn't break the bank. Quinn did not pressure me into buying a super fancy, expensive mattress. A mother herself, she showed me the 2 basic options that were perfect for a toddler.
