My friend brought me here today to show me how wonderful this place is. I was very impressed on the variety of beautiful furniture pieces here, the paintings and more ... I saw a few things that I loved for my house and will go back after I do some measurements. The prices are very reasonable, lots of new items, some even wrapped in their original packaging. Lots of mirrors, paintings and home decor. The dining set I saw was very nice, brand new $1300 table and 6 chairs. I have a picture below, see how nice it looks. Lots of outdoor furniture as well. I'm writing this review as a potential seller. Although I sent multiple pictures of small imperfections, they obviously did not review those photos, asked me to come in, and put me through the considerable time and effort of transporting and lifting a large piece of furniture for no reason. I worked with Donna, who could have easily been communicative and helpful but chose not to be. They seem to have a nice selection, though priced much higher than similar quality in other areas of LA and Ventura County. I would not recommend. read more

I used to love this store, spent thousands there. Then, we had a designer chair we had no use of - and I loved the idea that someone else would cherish it. I gave to to the Home Consignment Center this summer. They sold it in September - with no notice to us. When I called I was asked to be patient, someone would reach out. No one did. When I went (and bought further items) I was told "oh yes, the check is in the mail". No one bothered to tell us the chair was sold. They asked me to confirm the address four times. The check never came. I reached out to the CEO which responded in an unacceptable way. I will not buy there again and can not recommend selling your stuff there. read more

Wow, this place has amazing pieces from furniture to art to home furnishings.. if you earn a pretty penny! However, I did find a decently priced dresser, but did not purchase. This place is a hit or miss. Sadly the salespeople that we knew and were always helpful no longer work there. Even their jewelry section has sadly changed. We have purchased a lot of items from here but lately the new employees are not as warm and friendly and aren't much help. Hopefully this place would get better. If I could leave negative stars I would. I would never buy or attempt to sell anything to the consignment center. They sold me a bed set, which I attempted to return, only to be told that I could not due to some policy which, in my opinion, was deceptive. Then, less than a year later, I attempted to consign the bed set. They rejected it for damages. Yet, the set was in the same condition that I had bought it from them. Horrendous customer service. Arbitrary policies and procedures. Buyer beware. read more

Melissa, the manager at the Home Consignment store is absolutely amazing! I did a minor remodel and wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go. I showed her pictures of the rooms I had recently updated, with her excellent taste and guidance, she helped me pick out all the perfect pieces of furniture as well as decor to go with everything. I couldn't be more happy with all my choices. The other wonderful thing is, you have 24 hours once you purchase, to decide if what you bought is what you're looking for. This is the only store like this out here so they do have a corner on the market, but I have to say the women that work there are not very nice. They don't make it a pleasant experience...they're very snobby and short with customers when they have no reason to be! They are selling used furniture ...just be nice! Kind of a snooting seeming shop, but from what I saw the prices seemed "fair" and the location is large with a lot of stuff in it. So there's a lot to look through and maybe you'll find something. Mostly focused on furniture but a good bit of décor too. I kind of feel like it'll be more hit and miss on the décor but if there's a specific piece of furniture you're looking for you may have more luck here. I used to shop here a lot. Great finds. Lots of antiques. However, lately I noticed a lot of items that seem to come from close outs of different stores and priced pretty high. I wondered what happened to the truly quality items. There now seemed to be a lot of items that were The Decor Store quality. I would think a Calabasas location would bring people with a more sophisticated taste. From time to time, we will bring in things our clients need to resell. We will bring them in for them. We recently had items from an estate in Holmby Hills. None of it was acceptable to what they said was their Calabasas clientele. Ok fair enough. But the rudeness by the tall red haired woman was not ok. It is so easy to be nice. Why treat someone badly? I noticed there are lots of other people on Yelp with a similar complaint. Look without people bringing you things, you will have nothing to sell. I am sorry to say, that after all these years, we can no longer recommend this store. It's bad enough we were treated poorly, I would be horrified if I had sent in a client. read more

Wow! This place has all kinds of treasures priced from 50 bucks all the way to 50,000 bucks. Jewelry is from antique to modern to 1 of a kind. You may find better prices elsewhere on some items but other items you just won't find anywhere else because it's custom. They change inventory very often so if you don't see something you like the first time you go, the next time you may find multiple items you like. There is plenty of parking outside. Customer service is great. Just be patient, they are super busy, especially with the all the precautions they must take with this COVID. Will def be back again. read more

After looking at a couple of local brick-and-mortar retail stores, I suggested we check out (again) the Home Consignment Center in Calabasas. I love this store so much. You can always find the best treasures for an affordable price. I recently used their movers to get some stuff out of my storage facility. They were great. Nice trustworthy people who also made it easy and took care and pride in their job. They charged a fair price and I really liked it that they worked for HC because I knew they were accountable to someone. These days I would never feel safe hiring strangers to move for me. I recommend this store and their movers very much! HC has a great selection of framed art, old books, antiques and modern furniture. There is a lot of parking, and a place for a snack next door. You can go there any day of the week and they will have something new. It's a great place to find a special gift for someone or for yourself. The store was a bit busy but I browsed alone until I was greeted by Melissa. She helped get me in the right direction for what I was looking for and let me know she'd return shortly, I thanked her and understood the store was busy. Very rude when I went inside and inquired about selling or cosigning 200 prints which were offered at 75% off of current value. They did not take because they are unframed and they also only cosign, which would have been okay. I do not get why they don't have a deal with a framer for unique and valuable artwork. Most of their art framed items are very generic and not of much value. They missed out and lessons were learned! They appear not to be knowledgeable in art or interior design. Not sure how they stay open. Will sell on Chairish, Etsy, FB Marketplace etc. Also, it's crazy that L.A. doesn't have a store that buys art and furniture without cosigning first. Melissa called me and told me the item was still in the store and was reduced significantly from the original price. I used to go to this store all of the time. They always had interesting, nice furniture that was used but in great condition and at a reasonable price. Over the years I have spent thousands. The furniture is still lovely, but now there isn't a stick in the place that doesn't start at $700. The prices go up into the stratosphere from there. Today I looked at a saddle on a stand. The stand is probably worth about $60 new. I'm a horseback riding instructor. The saddle I know well. It is worth $350. They had priced this combo at almost $900. Ridiculous. Even the staff aren't people I want to deal with anymore. I was in there for 20 minutes looking for a dresserwhile they sat around talking to each other. No one even glanced my way. I have been to what seems like a million furniture stores approached by what seems like a million salespeople and never could find what I was in the market to purchase... until now. I found this beautiful loveseat virtually brand new, and it was delivered by Marco furniture movers. He and his crew went above and beyond to get it in an office where the feet of the couch had to be removed, and the door had to be taken off its hinges. It was the end of the day, and they were so polite about having to do the extra work that I paid him extra. He was happy and therefore I was happy too. I was in there today and her and her husband brought in a bunch of old crap that was dirty and not even of the caliber of this shop! Her husband was the one being rude & acting like a spoiled brat when it was pointed out to him that his items were needing cleaning and repairs. Honestly I thought the manager was being nice to even consider taking his things in the first place. Truly they should have got a dumpster. I walked into HCC to drop off items for consignment and it felt like I walked into another high end furniture store with snooty sales ladies who have to be friendly to access your money. It was pretty obvious right off, my pockets were not lined with designer dollars to qualify for this high end store. So unless you can afford to own a home in the area of Calabasas, don't waste your gas, as your furniture won't measure up. They definitely know their local customer and they play to them in spirit along with choices in furniture. It's just they should have a disclaimer on their website stating their need for high-end furniture only, so consignees know what to expect. No one offered to review pictures of my furniture first, perhaps make it a requirement, somehow communicate more information to the public about the furniture you will accept. It would save gas and money on their part and time on your part. read more
