We stumbled onto the Slip while walking around Main St area Kirkland on the 4th of July. It was late, and several other restaurants were already closed. We were looking for something casual, and slid into a table on the patio that was quite packed. The waitstaff directed us to scan the QR code at our table, as is of course pretty standard these days, and we were browsing and ordering from the menu with ease. Honestly, pretty smooth checkout process, and better than some places I've been during and post Covid restrictions. First things first, we ordered a couple drinks. I got an Endless Summer and my friend grabbed an Old Fashion. Both drinks were reasonably prices. The orange flavored Endless Summer was refreshing and fizzy, with ample kick, and the Old Fashion was nicely prepared and plenty strong. Both perfect for the warm evening down by the water. For grub, I ordered a Burgadilla, which is basically a burger stuffed quesadilla, with all the normal trappings you'd expect, jalapenos, cheese, onions and avocado. It was well cooked and taste pretty good. Overall a fun burger. My friend got a Slip Burger which is a pretty standard hamburger, though again, nicely prepared. Both plates were served with house made chips that are generously seasoned. Waitstaff was attentive, and the crowd there was very nice. We met a couple dogs that were out on the patio dining, and my little guy had fun saying hi to a bunch of friendly patrons as well. Overall, really nice meal, then the fireworks went off... This sent the dog into a "Protect my humans" mode and made us evacuate back to the car. I'm glad we ended up at the Slip. We had a really wonderful meal, and had a nice time. I'd love to try more of their cocktails and plates if we're in the area. read more

It's near the Kirkland waterfront, and that's the best that can be said. If you're looking for an ordinary burger on an ordinary bun, this is the place. The meat tasted of too much burnt grease on the grill, the lettuce and tomato were skimpy, and the bun lackluster. They were (fortunate for them) quite busy and it took almost a half hour to get the burger. Wouldn't have minded if the burger was great. Sadly, McDonalds does it as well :( read more

So, I ate and had two beers with my friend at The Slip; everything was great...when I asked to use the restroom the refered me over to the ice cream shop next door.....which I ended up using. when I spoke to the manager and I asked him, why it was right to us their Neighboor business bathroom and not his, he said because they have furniture in the bathroom that prevents from using them......when I asked how that was fair....he simply said is not his proble. They did an ok job with the small space that they have in the building. That being said, the tables are really shallow, so we kept on bumping knees. There are paper towel dispensers on the edge of the table that we kept on hitting. As for the food. It was ok. I had the blue burger. I couldn't taste anything but the blue cheese. That's not necessary on The Slip since blue cheese is strong, inherently. I did notice that the burger was very well done (meaning brown, no pink) and wasn't juicy. The fries were decent. read more

Good tasty burgers and fries! Nice outdoor seating, however it's really a small area so it fills up quick with hangry folks. You're really seating close to others and it can easily be congested when you're trying to make your way to the restroom. The fish and chips were good for the wifey. No complaints in that department. I really like this restaurant after the re-model. The menu focuses on high quality burgers that use a tri-blend of meat. I ordered 'The Slip' burger twice and added grilled onions and jalapeños. The burger is really tasty and cooked perfectly. The kettle style chips that come with the burger are good, but it would be so much better if fries weren't an up-charge. The only other negative about this place is the unbelievably slow service I had. I've been coming to The Slip for many years, for burgers, vegi-burgers, beers, soup and salads. With COVID, the open tent with a heater was a big attraction, especially at Happy Hour. Nice Christmas lights. And of course the gorgeous view! We ordered a Fish & Chips, coke, and a seltzer. The Fish & Chips was really tiny. One small piece of fish and lots of fries, but at $7.95, we forgave that. Bill came to $26....It wasn't til later that we realized the bill was so high because they charged us $10.95 for the seltzer. My wife and I've been popping into The Slip now for about two years now, during the nicer weather days while walking Lake WA Blvd, and we're just in yesterday in fact. Due to all things "Phase 2" during Covid, there's no seat in the main part of the restaurant currently(which mind you is very tiny anyway), but they're offering drink and pick up service at a make shift spot just where the main entrance is. Nice to see folks getting creative during these odd times. Outdoor patio remains fairly unchanged, with just a few table settings clearly to have been pulled, making room for about 7-8 tables outside. Nice spot for people watching since it's right off the path up from the marina. We'd been here last week, to which made me a bit apprehensive to visit again last night. Service last week from the young girl working the till at the "pick up/ order here" window wasn't very friendly, and poured me probably a 2oz pour of the Pinot Grigio the offer by glass. Should be at least 5oz pour as hopefully most would know, and I'd nearly wanted to complain. We'd got drinks last week and paid a fair penny, and I just didn't feel I'd been treated very well, and the pour of vino was comical. Try again last night however, and quite different for sure. I could tell it was the owner this time pouring my wine, and the pour was spot on. Crisp and great too btw, so thanks for the better evening. A couple patio G&T's, share of the 2 piece fish and share of the "burgadilla" and it was tasty tasty!!! Burger in a wrap with spicy jalapeños and great flavors! The fish I'd definitely say was far better than what I'd just had a week ago at Spuds not far away as well, so nice job there! We are staying in Kirkland at a local hotel and walk daily down to the marina. We saw their sign advertising "to go drinks" and were intrigued. The next day we went for "dine in" lunch. Both experiences were fabulous. Attentive and friendly staff and they have a fun (large) outdoor dining area... dogs welcome! The drinks and food were delicious. It rained today (on 8/6!) but we still ate outside and our server thoroughly wiped down the chairs and made sure we were dry and comfortable. I had the "Endless Summer" cocktail and the "Slip Burger" with onion rings-- yum!!! Thank you for being a friendly and inviting establishment.... We'll be back to try the pickle fries! :) read more

Went there with a group of friends and we shared a few appetizers including onion rings (very crispy and delicious, pickle fries (comes in spear form), and cotija corn (my least favorite appetizer- the kernels were inundated with grease). My fiance really liked his hamburgilla - which was a burger in quesadilla form. I was taken back how much I liked this as well. I ordered Fish & Chips which were good- the fish and batter ratio favored fish (which I personally prefer). They have a wide selection of interesting and creative burger options. Order at the front door, seat yourself outside in a heated tent with a fire pit that still has good air flow. When food and drinks are ready you pick them up at the window on the patio. I've walked by this place countless times after living in Kirkland Downtown for years. I finally decided to try it yesterday but was disappointed. It was self seating, indoor and outdoor. My group decided to do outdoor seating, but we didn't realize that we would be hounded by fruit flies the entire time, which was unpleasant. I'd get a seat closer to the perimeter and further away from the trash and trees, which might help avoid this problem. The next disappointed was the whole ordering system. You order on your phone and there's no interaction with servers. They require you to pay and ask for a tip BEFORE you even get your food. Since it was our first time, we tipped but realized it is not necessary in this establishment. The server only brings your food out and you have to get your own water and bus your own tables. As for the food itself, the burger was ok. I got the mushroom burger and it was tasty but nothing over the top. It comes with chips which are very salty. The sweet potato fries were also very salty. Those would have been good if they didn't put as much salt. I don't know if I'll be back, probably not, since I tried it once and wasn't that satisfied with the experience. read more

I have gone to the slip for 20 years. I used to love it. I guess it has new ownership and now it is terrible. Between the service and the salads, I will not be back. My sister had ordered a salad add chicken, add avocado, no cheese please. A side of fries and water no ice. $25. Didnt get the water for 10min. Fries never came. Salad dressing was changed to ranch, from honey mustard since my kid asked for ranch for his hot dog. It had cheese on in in which needed to be removed. They gave her the same lettuce and still had pieces of cheese. We had to request another dairy free dressing. This time, raspberry vinaigrette. The chicken, $5.95 is 4oz of what I think was pre grilled and packaged from Costco. When we complained that nothing was working out, we got a coupon for 20% the next visit. If my next visit was free I would not come back. Imagine: no cocktails, crappy salad that you can barely eat, no fries =$25. What a disappointment. One could go to an upscale restaurant like Daniel's Broiler and get an amazing salad and fries for the same price, if not less. I'm just say'n. read more
