Found this sweet hidden gem while exploring the streets of San Diego in Seaport Village! Cute interior and exterior. They have such an array of sweets and chocolates like their wall of gummy bears of different flavors. This place locked a lot of memories from childhood sweets. I ended up getting a Twix ice cream bar since it's a warm day in San Diego and I was craving something extra sweet. It was a great purchase that hit the spot with speedy service. We go to seaport village pretty often... we like walking by the water and browsing the shops. This candy store is a must whenever we are here. They have all kinds of candy, classic, nostalgic, and also candies that are "trending"... at least my kid says they are lol. But anyways, this is the cutest little shop and aside from sugary sweets, they also have some cold drinks, toys, and other snacks. This shop has a good number of novelty items and sweets from my childhood. The shop has something to offer most sweet tooth cravings. Besides candy they also sell game boards, toys, masks, drinks and ice cream bars. Location: It's located in Seaport Village, near the pond across of Wetzel's Pretzel. The pond is a great area to watch the ducks while you eat your treats. There are several benches to relax. There is also several seating areas near the bay. Went here during my first village to Seaport Village. It is just adorable! They do a great job of having a nice sized selection available in a small space. Got the Watermelon Sour Belts. Perfect place to pick up a sweet treat or beverage while walking around Seaport Village. Lots of retro candy/chocolate, refreshing beverages, collectible candy related toys, and candy made by the shop owners. Picked up some of the shop owner's brand of candy and a couple of PEZ dispensers (Bulbasaur and Charmander!). The candy we got were gummy bears and gummy brains and we enjoyed both! We'll actually be back soon because the gummy bears were really good, haha. Definitely worth a visit when you're at Seaport Village, it'll also help you get that validation you need for parking! read more

This shop is the cutest shop ever! The owners are amazing and always willing to help. The whole store is filled with delicious candy and nostalgic toys from when we grew up. Brings back so many memories. She also did most of the artwork herself which is amazing! Not only did I buy candies my daughter loved, but I made sure to get a few of my favorite candies and sodas because I couldn't resist. The owner, Jeana was so knowledgeable on her inventory and even though the whole shop was sweet surprises, she even surprised my little one with an extra piece of candy for the road. I definitely need to go back for more candy and check out the old school toys she brought into stock. Even through covid, they have tried their hardest to stay open and I give her and her family props for that. I saw this place on youtube and decided to check it out the next time I was in this part of town. My partner and I went earlier in the day to browse and they had a pretty decent selection of retro candy and stuff that's popular right now. The store is clean and well stocked, they have a center display of chocolates, taffy, and sour belts!! A pez wall, harry potter candy, boxes of candy cigarettes, glass bottle sodas, and even gummy pretty patties like from spongebob!! It was a bit warm today so my partner and I decided to return later so the chocolate wouldn't melt in their bag. It was POPPIN when we came back at night, a bunch of people were also trying to satisfy their sweet tooth before going home lol. We got two sodas, an 8 pack of NiknNips (~$4), chocolate raisins ($7), sour belts (~$6), and two mini jugs of sour gum powder (~$4 each). The prices are a little higher than what I remember them to be as a kid but that's more on inflation and the area than it is on the shop. It's locally owned and it's the only location! I found a good amount of things that I haven't seen in over a decade so I am definitely not complaining, just giving an idea for people who have not gone before. The people who work there are SUPER nice, I had a really bad experience at The Bay Company earlier today and they really helped me end the day on a good note :-) While I am not in the area often, I am hoping this store sticks around for a while!! I had a trip planned to San Diego and looked on Tik Tok for cool places to go. I came upon The Something Sweet Shop and knew this would be one of my stops. Went by today and got a package of the pineapple sour belts. I am a HUGE fan, they are SO good!! Sour belts are my favorite and this is probably my favorite one I've tried. The walls are lined with colorful candy of all types, old school games and even art from local artists.
