This is a cute little retro shop you can't miss when walking down the street. Look for Elvis and the big black and white cow with the bat tail just before the front doors. Got a "Kiddie Moo" size carrot patch cheesecake ice cream, which is loaded with real carrots then slow cooked in aromatic spices and orange zest along with that classic cheese cake flavor. It was almost like a slight taste of fall mixed with Easter traditions and "who could be mad about that"?! It was Amazing! Homemade history of ice cream that originated in California. Moo Pies & Moo tacos are the most popular here. However, they have many rotating unique ice cream blends and staple ice cream flavors. Additionally, they offer cakes, creative sodas, shakes, gelato, sorbets, baked goods, mix ins and more! Note- They guarantee hormone-free, gluten-free, and free of high-fructose corn syrup products. Definitely a fun spot to visit and enjoy! It's a sweet & memorable place to experience if you are in Coronado.
Been passing here many times after visiting the Naval Base but didn't get a chance to try this place . I always see the line that goes all the way outside. But yesterday after dining in the area we went to check them out again and luckily it had a short line. We decided to get their FLIGHT so we can try different Flavors. It looks very small on their Menu list and in their sample display but we were all surprised when the Lady started scooping the Ice cream, they are big Scoops! On the Flight, you can choose 6 different flavors that you want , we chose the MANGO SORBET , NUTELLA BANANA , MOCHA , CARAMEL , TOASTED COCONUT , THIN MINTS . Every flavor we chosed were delicious and the best part is that they are not overly sweet. So many Ice cream flavor selections and they also have other things for sale other than ice cream , they have a section of Shirts and cups with their Ice cream name printed on them. Friendly service, street parking mostly, I got lucky to find a parking space just in front of their store.
Went to Coronado to spend in afternoon. After peddling on a cart around the corner, we decided to stop for something to cool us down. We have came to the spot before and it reminds me of like an old school ice cream shop. They even have an Elvis getting out front. There was a short line, but it gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to go with the banana split. When I went up to the server, I had her omit the marshmallow topping they had listed as a topping, which she said they don't add the anymore anyways. I also told her not to add a strawberry topping and she looked kind of annoyed when I mentioned that. I told her I just wanted fudge topping. After ordering, we did about five minutes to get our ice cream and found a seat outside. It was a nice day, so I didn't mind the sun However, our ice cream started of melting, so we had to eat really fast.
It is very cute and you can tell this is a favorite as many people go here. There was no line when we went on Mother's Day so that was nice. There is lots to choose from but we just wanted to taste it so we got just one scoop. I got the double chocolate ice cream and my daughter got the cherry chunk. The taste was very thick, creamy and smooth. Probably one of the most creamy I have ever tasted. It was very good. The size was however one of the smallest scoops I've seen. My one small scoop in a tiny cup and my daughter's one small scoop was a total of a little over $14. I guess I was expecting a scoop like handels or any other ice cream spot. I think it's overpriced but I guess for the location and experience, it's a once in long while kind of visit in my opinion.

The ice cream itself is delicious, with a good variety of flavors to choose from. I also liked that they offer some more creative options you don't always see at other places. One of my favorite things is the sampler--you can get six different scoops for under $11, which is perfect for sharing with the family and trying a bit of everything. The only downside is that it does get pretty packed, especially during dinner time. There's usually a line, and seating is limited, so just be prepared for that. Overall, it's such a fun and tasty spot, especially if you have kids. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in Coronado.
Fantastic ice cream! I don't particularly enjoy ice cream, but they have wonderful flavors and a delicious ice cream base. I was very impressed with their variety and different flavor options compared to most other ice cream parlors/stores. Don't be hesitant with their line as it moves quickly! Really easy to order and then your ice cream is served to you within minutes. My husband and I decided to try the flight of 6 different ice creams. In their display it looked small and a great way to try multiple flavors. They really packed in the ice cream so we essentially had 6 full scoops of ice cream. Great to share with someone! We tried their august flavor (lemon blueberry), butter pecan, Nutella banana, chipped mint, brownie batter, and toasted coconut. I will say the lemon blueberry was a stark difference from in flavor compared to our selection so it did not blend well, but it would have been great on its own! I really did love the butter pecan, chipped mint, and brownie batter the most. The butter pecan and chipped mint are usually my top flavor choices anyways so this was no surprise. I was honestly impressed with the brownie batter though. So good! I enjoyed the Nutella banana and the toasted coconut but my husband loved them. They were his top along with the brownie batter. We also order a Ube cookie on the side and it was so soft and delicious! Would go here for that cookie alone. Such a fun stop in Coronado.
Such. Good. Ice cream! If you are coming to Coronado and have a sweet tooth, MooTime needs to be on your list. It's in a great location with tons of shops and areas to walk around to. They only have outdoor seating but there is a lot of tables available. Don't be surprised when you see a line out the door, it goes quick! The menu is huge with a ton of great flavors and toppings to pick from! They have a lot of creative, unique flavors you wouldn't find in other places. Silly Vanilly was a hit for the kids and very good. I got a Peanut Butter milkshake and it was amazing! We will absolutely be back. Such a cool, old-school creamery vibe here. The staff was excellent and the ice cream is 100% worth stopping for!
MooTime!! A coronado/san diego legend! Everyone knows about it. There's always a line haha. But it is so worth it. Waffle cones are the same price as a cup (amazing) and if you get the waffle cone, it is an insane amount of ice cream for the small mini moo size. We usually do one "mix in" which is really good. And they give out pup cups for our dog! Everyone is always super nice, even when they're super busy. We probably go here every other week. Lots of flavors/mix ins. Love this place!
try to come here before dinner! after dinner, the line gets really long, and service inside is a bit slow. you order and pay up front, then wait to get your ice cream (you can watch them make it). they're definitely very generous with their scoops! the ice creams were a bit too sweet for my liking, but they had a nice creamy stretchy texture. they claim that they don't use artificial colors and flavors! I liked the cookie monstah the best, then banana nutella, then butter pecan. would be better if there were actual chunks of nuts! read more
We stopped by on a Saturday and only had about a 10 minute wait, which wasn't bad at all. The shop is located in a cute downtown area with lots of boutiques and other shops nearby, so it's a nice place to walk around afterward. We ordered a scoop of the Cookie Monster, and it was creamy and had lots of cookie and brownie chunks in every bite. The only downside was that the waffle cone tasted a little stale, which was disappointing. Other than that, the ice cream was solid! read more

It was super busy on a Thursday night and the staff were really pushing through it despite the chaos so props to them. Pretty standard ice cream maybe I should have tried something more unique next time. The s'mores ice cream was pretty good. read more

Stopped by on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy! My friends and I split an ice cream flight which allows you to try up to six different flavors! I loved the variety of ice cream flavor, choices and overall thought that each flavor was pretty tasty. Would definitely recommend trying! read more

It is very cute and you can tell this is a favorite as many people go here. There was no line when we went on Mother's Day so that was nice. There is lots to choose from but we just wanted to taste it so we got just one scoop. I got the double chocolate ice cream and my daughter got the cherry chunk. Very friendly staff. Great brownie sundae with fresh whipped cream and amazing hot fudge. The brownie was gooey as it should be and ice cream was delicious. Be warned, the two of us couldn't finish it but we made a good effort. read more

Freaking adorable. So many delightful and fun options - not your typical ice cream shop. They have massive waffle cones you can upgrade your order to - or you can take the free waffle cone that comes with the price of the ice cream. You can make it into an ice cream sandwich as well! Took my boys and they loved it. Place is super cute and the people who work there were all so nice and happy. read more
We saw this place on social media and saw the GIANT portion sizes. It did not disappoint! Be aware that parking is difficult, we parked at a nearby neighborhood. The ice cream spot had cute and vibrant decor all around. They let you sample 2 flavors per person. We ended up getting the Little Moo (which was not so little at all) with Cherry Vanilla and Chipped Pomegranate flavors. This was less than $10, great bang for your buck! Ice cream was thick, not too sweet, but we wish there was more flavor. Love how the Cherry Vanilla had actual large pieces of cherry in it! There's no space to sit indoors, so we ate outside and enjoyed the sunny day. Overall, we would gladly come back to try their other flavors. read more

Moo Time is a must-visit in Coronado! The homemade ice cream is top-notch. Our kids were on the hunt for blue ice cream, and the moment they spotted Silly Vanilli--a vibrant blue twist on classic vanilla--they were over the moon (no pun intended). Pure joy in a cup. I went for the mint chocolate chip, and it did not disappoint--creamy, fresh, with just the right balance of mint and chocolate. My wife had the butter pecan with chocolate sauce, and every bite was dreamy. Great atmosphere, super fun location, and a perfect family stop. Five stars all around. read more
This is one of my favorite ice cream spots in San Diego! There will likely be a line out the door. There are so many flavors and sundaes to choose from. I usually get the Cookie Monster Shake. It is full of yummy flavor and it is creamy. Refreshing for a summer day at the beach. I will say the menu is pricy but I do think it's worth it! There's not really space to sit there so I'd plan to grab it and eat it at the beach! I love the cow statue out front too! It's cute for pics. read more

Moo Time is an absolute must-stop whenever you're in Coronado. The fun, themed décor sets the tone right away, and honestly, you can smell the shop from down the street in the best way possible. It instantly pulls you in. Despite how busy it can get, the service is always efficient and well-run. Don't sleep on the hot fudge or their specialty sundaes, they're next level and totally worth it. I'm usually a classic mint chip gal (which is excellent here), but I've tried plenty of other flavors and treats and have never been disappointed. Iconic, delicious, and always a good idea. read more

Shake was good. But the glass added to the drink was not so great. It was lucky that I felt it in my lip before swallowing it. Not sure how this got in there. Or what it came from. But unfortunate. I hope no one else has to deal with that. Other than that. I've been coming here for 10 years and never had an issue. read more
I called in advance to make sure the Vanilla ice cream had no egg in it as my son as an egg allergy. The gal on the phone told us it did not have any egg so we decided to go to MooTime. I was so excited. When we arrived we places our order and I told the gal at the register thank you to who ever answered my call and she said it was her. When our orders where being prepared I noticed mine and my husbands came out rather quickly but not my sons vanilla ice cream. The person who prepared it came over to us after and told me that she was pretty sure the Vanilla had egg in it and offered us a vegan option. I'm sad that staff was not properly trained but I am thankful to that employee who looked out for my family. Allergies are no joke and they should be taken seriously. read more

This place was sadly disappointing. Not only do they not give out samples so you can figure out what flavor you want (which I think is outrageous for any ice cream shop!) but it was also $30 for a one scoop cup and a two scoop cup with 3 toppings! I was hoping this would be a nightly walk for ice cream, but once is enough to say you've done it. read more

Had the most indulgent treat in Coronado here! We came after lunch on a Sunday in June and enjoyed 2 scoops (Brookie and raspberry chunk) on a dipped waffle cone, and a mini Miah O'my sundae. Little did we know the portion sizes would be so big! The Miah O'my sundae was absolutely everything a peanut butter lover could want. Every bite was utter perfection and rich in peanut butter and chocolate. My only gripe is that they didn't have water available for patrons. That would've been a nice touch. read more

We waited in line with lots of other admirers in order to sample the ice cream at this cute, little 50s style ice cream parlor and were not disappointed. We enjoyed the sampler of 6 scoops: cinnamon, strawberry, stracciatella, caramel, double dark chocolate, and peanut butter. The pb was my favorite, but all of them had excellent flavor. read more
MooTime will satisfy your sweet tooth with a generous serving size and classic flavors. Like Coldstone, you can mix in toppings with your ice cream for an added layer of customisation. The staff was quick and courteous in allowing customers to sample ice cream flavors before ordering. I got a chipped mint (mint chocolate chip) with cookie dough add-in. I severely underestimated the serving size for the mini moo and could not finish half of it even with my partner helping me. I definitely will ask for the Kiddie Moo size next time, despite the menu stating it is only for those 12 and under. In terms of the ice cream, I prefer smaller chunks of chocolate and a stronger mint aromatic flavor, thus would rate the taste as 3/5, generous portions being 5/5, averaging to 4/5. There was seating available outside so we were able to enjoy our desserts at the creamery, albeit a bit cold due to it being almost 9:00pm and no outside heaters available nearby. If you are looking for conventional ice cream flavors with options for sundays, shakes, ice cream cookies, brownies, and tacos, this place might be for you. read more

After dinner, my friends wanted to check out the Christmas lights in December at Coronado. We decided to grab ice cream after all the festivities. One of my friends recommended this place as it was an iconic spot in Coronado. It's located in between some boutique shops with an iconic drive-thru diner shop sign and a life size Elvis Presley(?) replica on Orange Ave in Coronado. There are a lot of free street parking around the area that could be difficult to find during dinner and weekend rush hours. My boyfriend and I got their Mini Moo size of their seasonal ice cream on the very last day (bad idea) - Cinnamon Toast to Fall. The description mentioned that it was a pumpkin spice flavor which I'm always a sucker for. So I immediately wanted it even though the sample I got was just meh. There was no pumpkin spice flavor at all! Honestly should have chose another flavor LOL. The main reason was not because of the lack of pumpkin flavor (maybe part of it), but because of the cereal. There was Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal in it, and they were all stale! What a disappointment. I can see why as that night we went was the very last day for it. Another reason for the star bump was that I had to fight against the ice cream because it was so difficult to grab a bite as it was so hard LOL. This shows that the ice cream was either froze excessively due to it being a seasonal flavor or that's was just this ice cream shop's style. I think the only great thing was the huge portion of ice cream as the mini moo was quite big! I think I need to give this shop another go as this was one of my friend's favorite places down in Coronado. Maybe the flavor I chose was just overall not the best and could be better with other flavors. read more
