I'm torn with this one. Taste-wise, most of our food was good, but the presentation was, well, bad. Let's talk about the rib dinner: it's made from jackfruit and really does taste like meat. It's pretty good, but it looked like it was just slapped down on the plate...bbq sauce smeared along the sides of the plate...pretty slapdash. It came with two sides, which, if plated with the ribs, might have looked better. But the side of Mac & cheese came separately in a cup, and the side of truffle fries came in a styrofoam clamshell. The Mac was decent... not cheesy but had a good flavor. The fries were lukewarm and soggy and left a greasy pool of oil at the bottom. It was definitely small portions.... Not enough to fill my husband's stomach. He ate half of my meal...which brings me to the next dish: burrito bowl. This was quite filling, flavorful, and large-portioned. It was nicely presented, even if in a plastic bowl. They were out of a lot of things on the menu, and there was no dessert to be seen, which was disappointing because vegan desserts are hard to come by. I was hoping for more creative dishes and ingredients, but it was mainly typical restaurant fare ( hamburgers, fish, tacos , fries) but just with vegan meat swapped in for real meat. They're going to relocate soon to downtown. Vegan mac and cheese is hard apparently lol, but it was good here, thank goodness. The burgers and rib dinner is nice, it's very casual but I don't know anything about the space they're going to have soon in the future. I believe they'll do extremely well in their new location because right now they're lowkey in the cut. The service was very friendly and casual. They recently changed their name to phrase bar and grill and the quality of the food left with the name. I am a usual customer who buys 2 of the bbb burgers. Recently bought 2 and the patty was thinner than card board and the bread wasn't toasted as usual. The burger was soooo much smaller and thrown together and gave me gas. They rarely have ingredients for any of the food you want initially on the menu which makes you choose something you dont want. The people there are usually kind and i always tip to support melinated business but this time a women was dismissive and dressed less like she would represent such a place called soulful vegan. First time coming here after being recommended by a colleague. I had the pleasure of checking out this restaurant. It's a hard to find place that's very new but the hours are really wacky. Everything here is vegan and they have tons of items I've never seen before in a vegan establishment. They highly recommend you pay cash, they do orders to go too if you don't want to dine in. Wow - can't believe we've been driving past this place for 6 months! We got the Buffalo wings, Mac and cheese, loaded fries and a Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was SO delicious! This place is the perfect hidden gem for some great quality vegan food! Located in Merriman Valley in Akron, my husband and I were able to grab a bite while enjoying the beautiful parks in the area. Not only is the food fantastic, but the staff there is super nice and even offered us a mimosa while we waited for our food. Searching for vegan restaurants yesterday and came upon this restaurant. I ordered the fish sandwich and my friend ordered the rib dinner. My fish sandwich was a nice size and pretty tasty however, my friends rib dinner literally had one small piece of rib in the dinner. A small portion of greens and Mac and cheese. It was pretty tasty but for 23.00. Not worth it. It should at least come with 3 pieces of rib for 23.00. IMO, 23.00 was way way way too much money to charge for that. My friend left the restaurant still hungry. I've never ever been anywhere where they give you one small piece of rib vegan or not. It should of been offered as a kids meal. Shameful. read more

We ordered the chicken sandwich, burger, chicken tenders and sides of Mac and cheese, baked beans and pasta salad. Everything was delicious and very soulful, I would have loved to had more seasoning on the Mac and cheese but I understand that's purely a personal preference. The baked beans even had vegan ground meat in it which really set it off. Great experience at pickup as my order was ready upon arrival and pretty easy to locate. This is probably the best vegan food I've ever had. My partner and I stopped in, hoping for a good dinner to help us make our super long trip home. I got the Humpty Dumpty burger and it was amazing, my partner got the The Big mcvegan, he said it was delicious.
