I don't know where to begin! Check-in was ok, at least someone was there. There is no night staff. People at the desk have ZERO knowledge, they are just drones handing out keys and when you have a problem they cannot solve it because they have no authority or power to do anything but hand out keys. We had a TV issue, sorry no maintenance available. I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Among the other things: 1) We came in from a day out to a floor of water seeping up from under the vinyl flooring. No fix, they put towels under the bed to soak it up. 2) The shower was full of mold. See the pictures. There was no place for soap or a shampoo bottler except to put it on the moldy floor. 3) The breakfast they provided was less than what a Hampton would do, not what $500 plus a night should provide. 4) There was cobwebs everywhere in the room. I hope the pic shows them. 5) The walls were soft, probably more water issues. Nail pops all over the room and a strong smell of mold. 6) The window AC unit was so loud you couldn't turn the TV up enough to hear it over the AC. 7) The bathroom was horrible. The sink was pulling away from the wall and the wall was cracking apart. See pictures. 8) All the flooring was cracking apart and screwed down with sheet metal screws. 9) The coffee machine has not been serviced in well over a year. See the pictures. I hope the date came through, but with a high volume place that filter unit needs serviced to be sanitary. 10) Windows were broken out in the common areas. 11) The Walmart drapes don't cover the windows to the common area by the pool. 12) The Window AC was something I would expect in an Airbnb not a $500+ a night room. 13) It felt like the people in the room above us were coming through the floor. The ceiling moved and noise travelled like I was in their room. 14) The TV was very old and poor quality image. The remote doesn't work because the cable box that taped to the wall with medical tape was just hanging there (see picture). 15) The staff is NOT happy. They complain that they get complaints all the time and no one does anything. 16) At checkout the best answer I got when I voiced these concerns was I will talk to the manager. Stayed her 7 years ago and loved it. Reserved 3 nights recently to celebrate my elderly parents 60th wedding anniversary. Huge disappointment. Upon arrival we were charged extra fees that were never previously mentioned. Front desk staff was rude and not the least bit helpful. They seemed bothered by any question or request for assistance. "Happy hour" was a joke The room was definitely not as advertised. Old, not clean, in need of repair and generally gross. Not cool considering how expensive it was. Sofa bed was gross and extremely uncomfortable. 3 am we are awakened by the fact that there are bugs in our beds. Saw cockroaches or large water bugs in the bathroom and worms all over the floor. Staff was extremely rude and not helpful when informed. Had to move my parents out immediately. This place needs to be shut down immediately by health inspection and codes. -Good location (walking distance to the Butterfly Conservancy and the Southernmost Point...and Duval Street is around the corner). -Big continental breakfast (waffle machine, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, breads/bagels/muffins, cereal, oatmeal, etc.) -Starbucks coffee available 24/7 -Two pools, one hot tub. -Backs decks on each level, overlooking Key West. -Staff was super helpful and friendly (especially Giuliana & Tamesha). When I went to drop off my luggage, they checked and my room was ready so I was able to check-in early. -Not accessible for people with limited mobility. I was in a single "attic" room, which was clean and comfortable (I'm not that tall). A/C worked well. I felt fine with the daily resort fee, but I only stayed one night and felt I got my money's worth with a couple trips to the pool, breakfast, a few cups of Starbucks & tea, luggage storage, etc. However I could see how that would really add up for a longer stay. And then the add on of resort fees and parking fees and then watching the staff wiping down the breakfast area with the same rag she used on the floor, then the counter and then wiping her nose multiple times with that same hand... The pool area was loud until 1AM and even though we called security at 11pm (which are off site) they NEVER came and other rude guests were super loud. Our room was 215 and literally 5 steps from the pool. No central AC so barely stayed cool with a wall unit that created a humid environment... I'll NEVER stay here again!! read more

We made our reservation at this location after our flight cancelled on Sunday evening. Using Expedia we booked for $144. The exterior of this inn is adorable! It's situated amidst lush tropical plants in a quaint neighborhood. It was late & raining when we arrived. After a quick check in, we went to our room - which was just that ... a room. While it was clean and tidy, it was tiny - housing a king sized bed, mini fridge, portable clothing closet and that's it! There was no chair to sit in and limited space to walk around. Being big people (my husband is 6'4" and 350lbs) the room was tight! The bathroom space was equally as small. The room featured a wall AC unit that ran all night and was noisy. The bed was very soft ... which was not great for us. Breakfast featured a full continental breakfast and waffle bar with Starbucks coffee. Overall, I would recommend this location if you are staying for a night or two but much more than that, I would not pick this place. read more

After reading all the mixed reviews about The Southernmost Inn, I was nervous to book our stay there. However, the price and location was well worth the chance so I went for it and I am SO GLAD I DID! I don't have a single bad thing to say about our 5 night stay with them. All of the staff, front desk, maintenance, management, were so friendly and extremely helpful with everything. The atmosphere was so relaxed and laid back, unlike many other hotels with unnecessary stricted policies. They have 2 pools, one is heated and the other is regular. The jacuzzi was so refreshing with calming salts coming from the jets. They had 3 or 4 outdoor seating areas, one being a beautiful "quiet courtyard". The complimentary breakfast every morning was the perfect variety and the staff did a great job keeping all the food and drinks stocked for the next guest coming in, never running out of items. They also offer bike rentals for their guest as well, which was very affordable and convenient! I couldn't have been more happier and pleased with our stay at The Southernmost Inn and I would stay here over and over again! Any time I plan to travel to Key West, no doubt this is where I will be staying. Basically, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! read more

I booked the wrong date by mistake, the second after I booked (through orbitz, clearly noted as non-refundable non-modifiable booking) I realized my mistake and called to change the dates (by 1 day). Huge ordeal... I had to call orbitz for 2 hours, twice, then the Southernmost Inn manager twice... it took over 24 hours to change it with a fee increase. I wasn't really happy but... be it! I booked 2 rooms for a total of $360 (for 1 night). Done deal. This is when things started to really annoy me: Upon arrival, the room that was given to me was not in the main mansion as shown on the photos but in a converted bungalow on the side of the house, with a direct street view (!). I'd rather stay at a motel (with free parking and lower rates) in this case. My mother's room was in the mansion, a large room with a nice balcony, pool view. We complained about my room. First I didn't want to be separated from my mom (both rooms were booked at the same time, for 3 people) and second, my room was way worst than my mom's for an identical rate. I was offered to "downgrade my mother's room" (!!) and move to her room so we could be together and I could get my money worth. So my mom got downgraded to a smaller room under the roof. No compensation, no discount or anything. This Inn clearly don't are about their customer but the money only. The mansion itself was extremely noisy, people walking by slamming doors at 7am to go to the breakfast room (there is a direct venting system between the room and the corridor so basically you hear every conversation, steps, doors...etc.). There are no curtains so you'll have bright day light in your room around 06:30am, which prevented me to sleep. An old lady was working at the breakfast area, very rude person talking to you in a broken English. Breakfast itself is not better than a "Motel 6" continental breakfast. There is no parking so you'll have to spend $30 per day for your car spot on the street. The resort is nice, place is clean but that's about it. I do not recommend this place. read more

I like the spot and I'm giving you four stars because my room was about $500 a night and while it was nice I did meet some other guests who said their rooms were under $200 a night so yes my bad for overpaying but at the same time you're probably could've done me a little bit better ha ha as I did complain about my first room which was old and tired and I was told I would get a free upgrade yet I was charged more. I chose this place because of the reviews and the pictures and information off the website. I was absolutely disgusted when I got there. Let me start by saying that parking is not free. It is $25 a night and you have to park a block and a half away. Now I booked two nights in a deluxe king suite and it was far from that. There was mold on the ceiling. The furniture was all mismatched and falling apart. None of the blinds in the windows matched and were broken. The bathroom floor was so disgusting and the shower look like it hadn't been caulked in years and there was mold in there as well. You can't control the AC from within the room, and the rooms were so cold that we had to sleep with the balcony door open. The pictures on the website is completely misleading. It says that they had renovated the rooms while I would like to know where they are because I sure as hell didn't get one. The worst part is downstairs where they serve coffee and their free breakfast. There were roaches crawling all over the coffee machine and countertop where they serve the food, it doesn't get any more disgusting than that. I emailed the property manager while I was there with no response. When I questioned about the free parking she told me that it was hotel.com's fault. And I wasn't gonna spend my time arguing. I hadn't taken a vacation in 15 years. I am disabled and I'm on a budget and I saved a long time just to go away for two nights and it was a complete waste of my money. If I paid $30 a night then I'd say I got my money worth but I didn't I paid over $400 for two night stay And I had no choice, but to stay because everything else around me was Double the price. read more

Upon arrival and inspection on the reserved delux room we chose to stay elsewhere. One had to scale a narrow set of stairs to a room that was an actual 3 cobbled together offering a cramp space. Add a musty odor and poor lighting told the front desk we were not checking in. After multiple calls and emails to both booking.com the only resolution was the resort fee refund for 4 days? Hmm will contest the 1600 dollar charge. At best the value of lodging would be be a 1/3 of it. While informing the front desk on Sunday we were not checking in a guest complained of a broken ceiling fan that was reported and not attended to. Might be why the place is listed for sale. Less repairs happening. Hoping to resolve a refund between booking.com and the Inn regardless of the 3rd party feature in the transaction. Did find a better place to stay the Inn Front Desk staff David was pleasant given the situation and recommended a good place for lunch. The one bright spot in this transaction. read more

We were very disappointed with the accommodations during our stay, especially given that it was our honeymoon. We stayed in a king suite and there was barely enough room to walk around the bed. There was no where to put our suitcases - not even enough space on the floor to have them open. The closet is small and had NO hangers so it was totally useless. Our shower never got above room temperature and there was visible mold on the walls of the bathroom. The bar advertised on their website was never open and looked like it had been shut down for a long time. Also, the breakfast was prepackaged muffins and some juice cartons. We ended up spending a lot of extra money on breakfast every day which we hadn't planned on doing. The only thing we enjoyed about this hotel was the pool area, but even that was a let down when they were always out of beach towels for us to use. read more

Several months ago I gave a great review of this inn. I have returned and it was a REAL DISAPPOINTMENT. This time around the room was more like a closet, the room was not cleaned properly (the medicine cabinet was full of items from the last guest), and there was NO shampoo, conditioner or body wash in any of the containers in the bathroom. Not in the shower, not near the sink. I will not return to this inn. It's in a great location in Key West but for the money, I'm positive that I can find a better, cleaner location. Honestly the reviews are very mixed here and very harsh. I'd honestly depends on what you are looking for. This was our 4th time in key west and we have never stayed at something like this a historic house basically. The hotel is clean, it's just very old so things look dirty when they really aren't. This place does have a good value for sure. Location is also prime. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. We didn't use the pool since we stayed in January and scattered storms kept happening. But the pool area looks amazing. We will be back late May early June . read more

There in no bathtub and it looks sketchy on the outside. Customer service is horrible and rude. Needless to say, this is the worst hotel so far on our journey!!! A lot nicer hotels for the same price. There in no refund so we are stuck here for 3 horrible nights. FYI, there are no services to justify the resort fee except a pool. Most staff members are accommodating.  Even had bike rentals.  Good location in Key West, and we were able to park about 1.5 blocks away for a reduced rate.  Inn does has a resort fee, which is additional to the room fee. Did not show on Orbitz.   Note to any hotel:   While charging a resort fee is trendy these days, this is a bad practice.  Everyone should deduct a star or two for hotels that do this. read more

No good, air conditioner didn't work, I'm sure they'll probably respond and say it did although I took the hotel clerk in and showed her it wasn't operable after she hastily told me they checked it and it was fine. You'll find some reviews and sites stating they have a bar by the pool, they don't anymore. The area where it used to be is covered with a huge stack of dirty towels and non working appliances. Parking is a disaster as they charge you $20/day (plus resort fees and taxes) and you have to walk a couple blocks to get to it. I requested one of my two nights be refunded and the clerk advised they couldn't do it as I booked through Hotwire and would have to call them, I did, and they refused to authorize it. The only thing going for this property is the location. Aside from that the property is a total crap fest. Not only did I not stay at the main house, you stay at some weird dormitory looking house like halfway down the block that's really creepy looking and that's why you stay but they don't tell you that. It's impossible to get to any management it's impossible to get to anybody anybody on the property for any reason. Faulty smoke detector? No problem they won't fix it. Possible bedbugs? Just found out the bites I had on my back from my stay there. No vending machine for soda or snacks. Parking is a block away in an unsafe and dark lot with NO security. No turndown service until I complained along with other guests. The front desk staff are useless and disappeared after 8pm so if you needed anything you were screwed. Big mistake and unless you are desperate do yourself a favor and find another place. They will ruin your stay. How they get 4 stars is suspicious at best. Buyer beware. read more

The worst! Do not stay there. The room is nothing like the website description or pictures. The furniture was old and dilapidated, the seat cushions on the chairs were stained. The bed sheets didn't fit the mattress the first use of the facilities, the toilet plugged up. There was a kitchenette, but there nothing in it, not even a courtesy coffee maker. We were notified via email within a week of our stay, that there was not going to be any housekeeping due to Covid. Very disappointing. For less money than what we paid (non-refunded) for the Southernmost Inn, we moved over to the Best Western Hotel and had a VERY NICE ROOM. We were excited to stay since we had previously stayed at the Southern Most House on the beach. The staff seemed bothered when we showed up. The hotel room was more of a youth hostel with a terrible bleach smell that burned our eyes and made it impossible to stay. We tried to change rooms and they stated that they had no rooms available. We told them we could not stay the night in a room like that due to health concerns, and only asked if they would refund our $71.00 in resort fees and bike fee that we rented while waiting for the room to become ready, but the front desk clerk refused. We booked using Capital One Travel and asked if they could refund the points. We left and paid for a hotel room at the Blue Marlin, which we should have booked to begin with! Very bad experience. After trying to call the hotel to speak with a manager with no luck, we called Capital One who was also unable to connect with the hotel. The escalation # through Capital One is #1229708404. I have not stayed here and never will. On Wednesday, I booked one room for 2 for one night on Saturday. My wife reacted to corona shot so we had to ask for reimbursement. Required a Doctor statement. sent that and the manager ...Ethan Silver...responded saying that since I made the reservation inside the 7 day cancellation they would not reimburse me!! Fully expected their cooperation to our medical problem just like airlines etc...but NO WAY. First and only time here! We stayed for four nights, not once was our room cleaned despite requesting it. Front desk told us we can put you on the list for cleaning but can't guarantee it will be cleaned. We had to empty our own trash, request towels and fix our own toilet seat. The $29,fee for happy hour was string cheese and cheezits. The breakfast was standard. The pools are not heated. I have nicer cleaning rags than the towels they gave us. I will start with the highlights. The location is within walking distance to Duval St, so it convenient. The happy hour wine and snacks is a good touch. Sonia at the front desk is very welcoming and you can tell she loves her job. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is definitely overpriced, or we had their worst room. The room can use repairing. The floor was warped and slanted. The pull out sofa was, also, slanted which made sitting on it uncomfortable. One of the bedposts was broken. Most of the blinds were broken.
