By the time I completed the registration there ended up being $18.69 in fees. Going into the race you have 2 options of picking your bib and/or items you purchased the day before the race OR picking it up the day of the race. If you decide to pick it up the day before is free and the day of is $5. Since I live in LA (The Valley) I was not about to drive 100 miles round trip the day before which was a Friday as well as taking the day off from work. I arrived 40 minutes before my wave at 8am (the first wave), and this was not enough time is the simple answer. Getting into the parking lot was busy as expected, but they had no staff directing cars to help speed entry into the parking lot. If you are doing a future run just cut over to the far left lanes and you'll get in the quickest. They did tell us ahead of time that parking was $20 cash only, but the week before they sent an email saying the parking lot was charging a $10 fee on top of the $20 making parking now $30. My question is who was getting the original $20 if not the parking lot company? I work for a venue and I know the Bubble Run wasn't getting the original $20 parking fee. They also were accepting credit card payments so you don't need cash. After parking which took about 10-15 minutes my friend and I stood in the pick up line for our bibs. An hour and 15 minutes later and seeing multiple waves start and finish the race we finally made it to the front and got our bibs. Paid the $5 fee which same as parking they accepted credit cards. The run itself was fine. It is for "fun" and there are no time clocks or actual "waves" for those who want to train. They had 4 bubble stations that are really fun and helped break up the run. The stations do get crowded and it would be nice to have a safe way to run past the stations if you optionally wanted to. They tried to color the bubbles and in some stations it worked in others it didn't. The blue station came home with me as my feet were blue after the race. The course itself is very bland and uninspired as you basically run through a parking lot with the exception of the drag strip which in my opinion should be the finish line. You have the built in bleachers for your friends and family to cheer you on as you finish. Not sure it was even remotely a 5K though, maybe a 3K run. All in I paid $54 for this "free" event that felt like it was organized and run by high school teenagers hosting a fundraiser for their soccer team.

I'm all for encouraging teens to get into endurance sports, but there were a TON of them out there. 2) Aid stations just had water. One had watered down Gatorade, but it was just that single station. NO gels or gummies were offered at any of the aid stations. I've never run a half or full marathon with on-course nutrition this bad. 3) Food at the finish line was very limited - water, a few dry snacks. No electrolyte drinks, no fruit. Packet pickup: either on Sat or Sun morning before the race. It was super helpful that I could pick up my shirt and bib the morning before the race since I had to work on Sat! Course: pretty hilly! If you are the type of runner who feeds on loud music and crazy spectators cheering you on, this race is NOT for you. The course is very quiet, serene, and only had one small two person live band. Since the course runs through Bonelli Park and some paths near Raging Waters, there weren't a lot of spectators. Fuel stations: water and Gatorade stations were maybe every two miles. I didn't like how they diluted the Gatorade. I want to taste Gatorade, not lemon water! The water also had a weird taste. They had a Cliff GU station around Mile 9. PRIZE: The half marathon shirt was pretty nice and comfy. I've worn it several times since the race to the gym! The medal is sparkly, heavy, and pretty =D Price: I paid $76 (processing fee included) during early bird registration. The race was in December and I registered in February. Verdict: I think there are better races that offer a nicer route for the price. I found the course to be a bit boring, especially since there aren't that many spectators.

You get a t-shirt, head band, a bag of colored chalk, and some safety pins. The run itself was fun and I had a great time with my friend, but the organization of this event could use some work. ID check was non-existent, so there was no absolute way to verify who bought a legitimate ticket or who was claiming to be a person on the list with a common name. One "water station" throughout the whole track...which really was a kiddie pool with 24-pack water bottles. I guess I was too slow because the gazelles in front of me had ransacked them, leaving nothing for the thirsty slowpokes. The end of the race was highly anticlimactic...passing the parking lot and back to the start, with cones all of a sudden disappearing to signal the "end" and people sauntering off to their cars after taking a few jump shots. Would do again, but I am more willing to try the Color Run instead next time.

The color blasts are colored cornstarch and they were pretty easy to wash off! Pro: * Awesome DJs for pumped up music! * Great scenery with some up and down hill runs. Good change in elevation! * Awesome volunteers at each color blast station and handing out water! THANK YOU! * Lots of fun! Super colorful and lots of encouragement from volunteers and runners alike. * Several leaf blowers as "color removers" and blasting all the loose powder off. * Water-soluble and non-toxic fun that was easy to wash off, thank goodness. Con: * Being the first year it was pretty disorganized. The check-in line was free for all and ended up being SUPER LONG. I think could benefit from separating by alphabets like A-H, I-O, P-Z or something so that the poor volunteers don't have to go through the entire binder for day-of check ins. Tabs would be helpful also. We were in line for 2 hours coz we couldn't make it to pick up the day before. * Mile or any distance marker would be helpful for those who are running and trying to figure out the time. But it would be good to encourage people, plus you can get people to sponsor for the mile markers for some more funding. * Not very much vendors at the end of the race. * Took more than 20minutes between each wave of runners. All in all a great start! Can't wait to do it again next year!

(Especially the swim). Luckily they had two options, the 5k and 10k for those that just run like myself. There's definitely more cons than pros, but I imagine it's not easy to run events. Pros: -Challenging is an understatement. -Nice park. -There weren't a lot of 10k runners so it wasn't hard to get a division award. -trail race, duathalon, triathlon options. It's nice to see different type of athletes -true trail challenge and test of your will power and endurance - runners were nice, we were all thinking the same thoughts hill after hill after hill. -free beer at finish for those of age. -easy but expensive parking $10 Cons: -Challenging is an understatement. - wish the 10k wasn't the 5k twice.. -It's not beginner runner friendly. - i would say 85% of runner were walking or had spouts of walking before end of mile one. - few water spots available through the race -started late (wish they could start earlier than 8:15) -you would probably not like the tiny participant medal if you are a medal collector. -finish area was small. A free water bottle would have been nice. I ended up drinking like 5 of those mini water cups.

If you're looking for something to do during the holidays, this is a great option…read more First of all, it's huge. I remember at one point as we were walking around I said "It just keeps going!" Secondly, the light displays are amazing. If you're looking for photos to post on social media, this is the place for you. Everywhere we turned we were like "Oh, wow!" and stopped so many times to take photos. A couple of the displays were also animatronic. There were also little freestanding rooms with mirrors that turn the small space into an infinity room. You just have to wait outside in a line until it's your turn to go in. And other rooms had seating, flowers, and Christmas trees specifically for people to pose and take pictures with. They also had a live circus act and carnival games. There were food trucks and food stalls with places to sit down and eat. There was also a "Transformer" car, so we actually decided to sit and eat there while we waited for the show to start, but they will try to charge you a small fee if you want to take a close up picture with it and they'll try to sell you toy versions of it. When we went on the ferris wheel, we actually got to see it transform from our aerial view. We also got a great overview of how expansive the light displays were and noticed an area we hadn't gotten to yet, so after the ride we went there. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the long line and wait to get in while sitting in our car. We also got a little lost trying to find the entrance because Google Maps told us to go to the wrong gate. I think it's been fixed since then. Overall, though, it was a great experience. Just know that you'll be doing a lot of walking.

Right now they have a Wizard of Oz theme blended perfectly with Christmas decorations, and it is done beautifully. I came with my family and brought my nieces and nephews, and they loved every second of it. There are so many cute photo opportunities throughout the entire display--lots of small themed rooms, different styles of décor, and incredible light installations. I honestly was not expecting it to be as big as it is. There is a lot to see and do, so give yourself plenty of time. Since it's outdoors, definitely dress warm because it gets very cold at night. Admission typically starts after 5 p.m., and I highly recommend going during the week (Monday-Thursday) right when they open so you can enjoy everything without feeling rushed and to avoid the weekend crowds. There's so much included with admission alone that you don't even need to spend extra money. Kids will love the DIY stations, themed rooms, bob pit (which is free), snow display, and all the interactive areas. They also have a carnival with rides where you can purchase an unlimited ride bracelet (around $40), but we skipped the rides and still had more than enough to do. One of the highlights was Santa Claus--he was fantastic and looked just like Santa should! The kids were thrilled, and the staff overall was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This event is truly perfect for all ages and ideal for a family outing during Christmas time. Everything was beautiful, well-organized, and thoughtfully done. We took so many amazing photos and created great memories. I loved it and highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish!
