From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. I believe the owner was the one who served us, and he was incredibly friendly and attentive. The service was excellent, and the restaurant has such a charming atmosphere. They have cozy tables for two as well as larger tables that can comfortably seat a group of 10, making it perfect for any occasion. We ordered the Parrillada (Molcajete), which came sizzling with onions, bell peppers, cheese, sausage, and both chicken and beef fajitas, served with handmade corn tortillas. Everything was incredibly fresh, and you could truly taste the difference in the tortillas they were some of the freshest I've had in a very long time. The chicken and beef were both tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed the fresh guacamole and chips, burritos, a refreshing limeade, and a Mandarin soda. Every bite was delicious and tasted authentically homemade. One of my favorite parts was the location. We were seated by the window overlooking the waterfront, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. They also offer free Wi-Fi, which is a nice bonus. If you're in Coupeville or visiting Whidbey Island, Molka Xete is absolutely worth the stop. It's located in the less touristy marina area of PT. Or, in other words, if you take a left (rather than the traditional right) getting off the ferry it's about a mile away. It's definitely worth the hunt though! The interior of the taphouse is light and bright, with plenty of beer, wine, and cider to choose from (as well as NA bevvies and tons of snack options too). But the real gem here is their beachfront beer garden! With plenty of seating and colorful outdoor umbrellas, the place seriously made us feel like were were somewhere beachy and semi-tropical, especially on the warm summer day of our visit. We enjoyed a couple of lazy hours at a well-shaded picnic table, with a cool breeze blowing and a tasty beer or two. This will definitely be on our Port Townsend rotation from now on!
