This is hard to say, but it has to be done. There is nothing wrong with the brewery, the beer is awesome. Always awesome. The Octoberfest was a huge disappointment. Our beers were warm, and that's like the bread and butter there. If the beers were cold, I'd have just written it off. But warm? Now, not the brewery's fault but our sausages were cold in the middle and the buns were colder. Kids running around the place, not being controlled by their parents.... just a disappointment. I love your beer, but I left so depressed. You need more seating if you are gonna do an event as well.

This is our mandatory pit stop place every time we are back from a hike in the area. Lovely brewery with a great selection of beer on tap. My fav is the Vienna Lager (nice and crisp) and their Hefeweizen. They have a good selection of beers and we also end up taking a few pints with us home. They have a cute heated patio where you can have your pets accompany you. Inside the brewery they have a few tables for folks to be seated. We usually love to be seated by their patio and catch the gorgeous sunset from this establishment. Highly recommend and I will continue to come there month after month.

Nice little taproom. The other location has food not this one so do not confuse. Beers are in traditional English and German styles. I tried the porter and the British IPA. Both were very good.

    Outside, dog friendly seating.

True confession, I've always been partial to wheat beers, particularly Hefeweizens. But today I had the most splendid Vienna lager at Chuckanut! Their hef uses the Galaxy hop and has fabulous flavor, but the true winner for me was that Amber hued Vienna lager. With a malty flavor that carries an undertone of toffee, the Vienna ends nice and crisp for a not too heavy, not too light beer. A homey, unpretentious and relaxed atmosphere awaits you at their South Nut location. Space heaters & a dog friendly outdoor space accompany await for those that prefer to bring a furry friend. The inside holds a comfy eating space and super friendly service. It's worth the trip to the establishment and to support a local brewery.

Tasty beer at Chuckanut South Nut taproom!

It's been a while that I've been to Chuckanut. I have been to the location in Bellingham once before but I haven't ever been to the South Nut location before. The taproom here is nice and spacious and is in Burlington which isn't quite as busy traffic wise compared to the location in Bellingham. I like that more relaxed aspect. I got two different beers here which I liked pretty well. I got an Asian Lager and I believe a lager that was Polish inspired. Both were unique and fun to drink. I enjoyed my experience at Chuckanut a bit more compared to my first visit. Perhaps it was because of the slower pace I liked and the taproom setup better but I did notice that the beer seemed to have improved as well. I didn't dislike my first Chuckanut experience but there were other breweries on the Bellingham trip that I liked better. Either it's location oriented with different beer options or as time has passed more intriguing beer options surfaced that made me enjoy my visit more than the first time in Bellingham. Service was prompt and friendly. Chuckanut South Nut Taproom is a great place to come and relax!

South Nut is the long-awaited Skagit County edition of Bellingham's legendary Chuckanut Brewery. Located quite a bit off the beaten bath, in the Skagit Regional Airport complex, South Nut is a small tasting room attached to a larger brewing facility. The room has an eclectic, colorful vibe, and offers 9 taps plus some light snacks. On a recent visit I enjoyed one of my faves, their Alt Bier, with its complex maltiness and rich flavor. Served up with a pint of yummy pretzels and tasty mustard, it was a perfect antidote to a gloomy Sunday afternoon. While the brewing facility is not yet fully up and running, there's a nice view of it through windows from the tasting room. It doesn't look like they have plans to open a full kitchen here, which is a bummer considering the yummy offerings at their flagship location to the north. I've heard they have food trucks from time to time, but there weren't any here on our recent visit. But...yay pretzels!

    Amazing lager beer

What a great location and awesome beers!! We sat outside and enjoyed a beer. Besides excellent beer.... we enjoyed an eagle soaring overhead.... watching small planes fly in. Highly recommend!

    Is this location Doggo friendly?!

I take my dog there and there is nice seating outside, I am not sure if dogs can go in the brewery. I hope that helps.

They're located close to the Burlington airport; look for the wooden chair with a "beer here" sign. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 1:30pm). They've got a cute patio outside along with two communal style tables and bar seats inside. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. Go up to the bar to order your drinks. The beers consisted of 9 Garden Path flavours, two meads and several guest beers/ciders/wines. They don't do flights, which is disappointing and none of their fruit flavoured beers were available to sample. They have a MASSIVE variety of rare, unique beers along with some interesting cider and wines. Beer bottles from Jester King, Atwood Ales, The Ale Apothecary and Crooked Stave, to name a few. From Canada, they even had two bottles from Dieu du Ciel. Majority are from the States but they had some beers from Australia, Estonia and Europe (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy). They also have a couple board games and funny enough, they had these mystery/surprise beer bags for sale. Not sure how much they were though. - The easygoing drink ($3.00 US for 5oz) - lightly tart ale fermented in a foudre and finished in stainless steel. This was our favourite from the three we sampled. - Amber dreams of electric sheep ($3.00 US for 5oz) - foudre-fermented, oak matured, malt-accented and native yeast amber ale. Definitely was malty. - The prime barrel age ($3.50 US for 5oz) - blend of mature barrel-aged beers. This one didn't leave much of an impression on either one of us. Garden Path's beers are different, catering more to funky than sour. If you're a beer geek, this should be a must visit. 3.5 stars.

Now, it's become a regular haunt when it's a nice day and I'm in the mood for some good pub food, a tasty cool beer and, oh, an impeccable view over a picturesque Skagit field towards towering Mt. Baker. This place is just about perfect! The food here ranges from pub favorites like wings and burgers, to fresh oyster shooters, to tacos, salads, and some delish house-smoked barbeque. They're also known for Friday prime rib nights, which I haven't enjoyed yet but it's on my list. The service here is super friendly. I've been three times this summer and one of the bartenders already recognizes me! It can be a little slow getting served on busy nights, so I recommend ordering as soon as you can if you're hungry. Otherwise, just settle back with your beer from their amazing taplist (or a cocktail from their full bar), enjoy the view from their vast outdoor patio, and take it all in before the rainy season returns.

Our server was Rainey, she was awesome, very attentive, and came to our table right away to take our order. The atmosphere at Temperate Habits is very nice, there is outside seating but we sat inside due to the bright evening sun. Our meals took quite a while to arrive, I think we were at the tail end of the dinner rush and my guess is they have a small kitchen. My classic cheeseburger was about the most generic, predictable, and utterly boring burger I could imagine, and for $17 I would certainly not return for that or the mundane shoestring fries. The burger patty, bun, and fries were all non creative and the there was nothing even the slightest bit unique about my burger, in fact I swear it is the exact same burger that the Skagit River Brewery serves just around the corner. The surprise entree was the Crab and Lobster Tots, now whoever thought that would be good? The plate looked very strange to say the least but I have to say.... this dish was really good! So you'd think if they could create that total mayhem of a dish that they could get far more creative with the burgers and least have a house burger sauce or a higher quality bun for $17, something? I might return to Temperate Habits to have a drink with friends and share some tots, because they give you a large enough portion for four people, but I would certainly look elsewhere for a good burger. 5 stars for atmosphere and service, 1 star for the burger, 4 stars for the tots.

The patio faces one of the main streets so there was lots of good people watching. I ordered a beer flight and was very satisfied with all four of my selections: Prickly Pear Kolsch - it was creamy and easy to drink, bursting with prickly pear flavor; just the right amount of tart and sweet. Lightly Buzzed Honey Lavender Blonde - my favorite of the flight; it was very hoppy but light and refreshing and well balanced by intense lavender flavor and a smooth honey finish. Get it! You won't regret it. High Five Hefe - lighter/less hazy and more hoppy than most hefes it made for a unique and complimentary beer on my flight. Pommeroys Citra Pale Ale - a perfect West Coast IPA. To eat, my pup got the Lucky Dog hamburger (which the chef pre-cut) and loved it! He chowed down in less than a minute. And I got the Mac & Cheese Burger (sub a veggie patty) with the Garlic Fries. It was a very indulgent meal to say the least. The burger was loaded with so much Mac & Cheese that I couldn't even put the top bun on it and pick it up. lol I had to knife and fork the whole thing which was totally worth it. The Mac is a classic home style recipe (think Stouffers but better). Their fries are shoestring and super crispy and salty. And they loaded those up with an amazing garlic aioli and Parmesan. I got a side of their house-made curry aioli and was obsessed with it. Every fry that didn't have sauce or parm got a dip in that deliciousness and I added it to quite a few of the burger bites too. All in all, a great brewpub that I look forward to returning to in the future!
