Here's Jamie after an early morning swim.

The lap pool is our 'go to' pool in the summer. Opening at 6 a.m. there are only a few people swimming. At 6:30 a.m. the Marlins swim team shows up, taking 6 lanes, leaving 2 for lap swimming. It's fun to swim next to the age group swimmers. We typically swim 3k on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We take Thursday off. We don't typically come back and swim during the day - when the splash pool is crowded. But once in a while we do. There are always lanes open for lap swimming in the lap pool. And the diving board too. The splash pool is fun - if not to crowded and it's a warm day. The slides are fun. And the shallow area is great for young swimmers. All around - Splash is a great pool with fabulous views of Golden. Jump in and swim!

My daughter and I always have fun at this water park. She loves watching the bucket dump at the top of the play structure. She does not love getting hit by the water from it, however. It didn't have an alarm when I was there to warn when it will dump so we had to keep an eye on it. Only the hardiest toddlers would be ok with this bucket dumping on them. Speaking of toddlers, they had the best little toddler slide that is super wide, short, but fun for the little ones. I didn't have to worry about her hogging up the slide while she sat at the top, fixated on where the water comes out, because there was enough room for other kids to get around her and go down. There was a little pad at the bottom. My two-year old had no problems. There was also a cute splash pad and a sandbox with showers to clean off afterwards. Everything here was so well thought out. My favorite thing was that there are restrooms towards the back of the park so I didn't have to haul a screaming toddler to the entrance when I needed to go to the bathroom. Great design, great park!

Decent park for half day entertainment. Nice welcome staff. Incredibly annoying that they conduct "adult swim" and kick kids out if "leisure" pools so that a few grown men can go down the slides by themselves for 15 minutes. Meanwhile groups of kids are stuck waiting on the side of the pool. Seems ridiculous....especially when there is daunting weather, etc. Would understand if it was for the lap pools, but the slides and play structures? Be prepared about strange policy.

Are there real showers here? As in a locker room for the girls? Or is it more of an outside situation?

I love the price, the water quality is good, and there are plenty of good loungers to take a nap on after your swim.

There are a ton of slides and they are a blast! It's so big that we didn't get to everything despite trying hard to do so. There is excellent variety. My favorite was Lost River of the Pharaohs. The one big thing that I really disliked is the "Tube Valet" system. Specifically, the way this park allows guests who spend more to skip the lines. I can definitely see how paying more to not have to carry a tube is good for accessibility, but the skipping the lines component is just greedy and it makes the experience worse for everyone else. It creates a class system within the park and I deeply resent it. In fact, there are certain slides I won't bother with again if I come back as the lines are already slow and "Tube Valet" kills my interest as I don't want to spend all day in line. Those rides are Mile High Flyer and Revolution. They were fun, but it doesn't matter when you spend so long in line that you ultimately miss riding other things. The "Tube Valet" alone prevented this place from getting 5 stars. It's gross. Keep in mind that we came during the day on a weekday in the hopes of lines being less awful. If I visit again, I will do a few things differently. 1. I will pack nearly nothing so I don't have to pay for a locker (they are pricey at $16 - $21 depending on size). The exception would be if coming with a group large enough that a public space could be secured with a non-swimmer. If I were part of such a group, I would pack a cooler (following cooler size limitations on the website) as well as a few other small items like sunblock. 2. I will not ride Revolution or Mile High Flyer 3. I will eat either before or after to avoid paying in park (or do the group with a cooler method). 4. I will apply lots of sunblock before entering the park so I do not have to carry it in. Overall worth a visit, but consider the limitations inflicted by "Tube Valet."

Other than that all the lifeguards were very kind and hardworking! it really frustrated me that the bathrooms were closed for a while and i could not find an open one. And to end this, a lot of the attractions either had two hour lines, or were closed. I've been coming to this park my whole life and i was very upset with my visit today.

They have a lap pool and they also have a warmer pool that includes a lazy river and a couple of lap lanes, along with the children's play area. We were there on a weekday afternoon well swim lessons were going on, but had plenty of space to use one lap lane and the lazy river. They have a set of steps to enter by the lazy river and they have a chairlift that enters into one of the lanes. There's also a hot tub that has steps with a rail to get in. In the family locker room there are two accessible changing rooms with a bathroom and shower, including a shower bench and adjustable showerhead. They have an automatic door opener, which is phenomenal, however, the lock is up pretty high, which makes it less accessible for wheelchair users, and short people. there are two other changing rooms in the family locker space that don't have the automatic button, adjustable showerhead, or shower bench, or grab bars on the toilet, but are still fairly large and have space for a wheelchair user There was plenty of accessible parking and automatic doors to get into the building. The space exiting was pretty tight due to how they have the chairs arranged, somebody with a larger wheelchair may have to exit through the entry lane. We also used the steam room, there was no automatic door, but the door wasn't terribly heavy. We've been to lots of rec centers in the Denver Metro area, and this is definitely one of the most accessible

If you are working out and have children, make sure to drop them off in the children's pavilion while you work out and then you can take them into the pool, which does include a waterslide and a lazy river. If you want to go swim laps, they do have an open lap pool on the opposite side away from the kid pool, which is nice. There is no outdoor pool, which is the only downfall.

The Mindbender is an awesome coaster with intense speed and great inversions. The staff was friendly. I don't know how anyone can complain about the price especially for locals buying a season ticket. We didn't do the Waterpark but from a distance it looked pretty solid with at least a half dozen slides and wave pool. Sure some of the park could use a coat of fresh paint but at the end of the day it offers family friendly rides and plenty of thrills along with a decent size Waterpark all for one price. Plus we noticed rides like sling shot and XLR8R which are usually an upcharge at most parks were included with the ticket price, they can easily run you around $30-50 as a standalone ride so that's a value if you like extreme thrills. We really enjoyed the Kaleidoscope by Meow Wolf, while not nearly as detailed as an actual Meow Wolf, this psychedelic dark ride was a lot of fun. The giant wheel was solid as well. Sidewinder is one of only 3 such style coasters operating in the world was very unique. It's not a launch coaster in the modern sense but you start dropping directly into a loop only to come up on the other side and then back again in reverse. Serious g-force and deceptively fast! Overall I thought the park was the perfect size with all the classics for both kids and adults.

The only area where she could *actually* swim had a giant fan blowing down from the ceiling...we were both shivering within 10 minutes. The pool area looks massive, but the actual space for a kid to swim is tiny. SO much wasted space. The playground are is great for toddlers, but beyond that it's a huge disappointment. Why is there a huge fan blowing down onto the pool on a cold, rainy day?? The pool water temps were miserably cold which means the hot tubs were overrun with people who were camped out in them. We couldn't even dip a toe in the hot tub because they were 'full'. There were also crowds of completely unsupervised kids everywhere we turned. The whole 'adult supervision for kids under 10' is an absolute JOKE. After being pushed, kicked, shoved, jumped on for 30 minutes, we cut our losses and left. Will absolutely not be back.

Looking for a time capsule then loon no further as you have found it right here at Lakeside!…read more This park really is awesome as you can tell it's been kinda just left to the elements of time as everything here just felt like the 1960's which was totally cool with me because its unique to any other park I've been to in the country and that alone created this incredible vibe! It seems like they are only open at night which is awesome because I love going to the park at night as it creates a whole new atmosphere that the day can't match from the sights and sounds you can't really go wrong with a night at the park! Lots of this park is very run down like it really needs some help which made me kinda sad but happy to see it's still in operation if I had the money I'd totally fix it up and keep it nostalgic to its roots like get the roller coaster going and what not! Wild Chipmunk alone was worth the trip here as you don't see many coasters like that being operational anywhere a true gem in the coaster world! Their train ride was awesome too takes you to the edge of the property around the lake making for a long fun ride that we totally loved! They offer all day wristbands or tickets since we only rode a few things we went with the tickets making for a bit of a saver for us money wise so just plan accordingly if you choose this path! Overall this park is awesome I'd love to see it get the love and respect it deserves as I can tell this is a very valuable asset to this community and I hope to come back here again at some point because this truly is up there with my favorite parks I've ever been to straight up a vibe here the whole time!

If you can get over its shortcomings, Lakeside is a pretty fun place to go, and at 116 years old, it's pretty OG Denver. My husband and I took our son this afternoon (they open at 2 pm on weekends) and had a sweltering good time. They gave a new (to us anyway) entrance process. Parking is free now, and after you park you empty your pockets and do a bag search, which was no big deal and I'm honestly surprised it took as long as it did for this to happen. After security the experience kind of tanks. They had 1 person at the entrance doing admissions and NO SIGNS. Seriously, Lakeside, if you read reviews, PLEASE post a few signs at the entrance with the fees so people can decide what they want as hey wait and do your poor employee doesn't have to go over it while everyone waits. My family waited 40 minutes to get in today, and the fact is that that was 40 minutes of lost opportunities for us to have fun and to spend money at the park, and that is just speaking of my group.
