We celebrated my son's sixth birthday party at the splash. Booking the party was really easy however, you're getting in touch with anybody for questions. I'm following up to that was not easy. Everything was ready for us when we got there all the way did have to check in with the front desk and figure out exactly where we were reserved to be and then get a little bit of help moving out the people that were camping under the reserved pavilion kids had a blast. This is a great location in Golden and I would absolutely bring my kids back just for a fun day. read more

This place was so much fun to go even as a young adult! There is an adult time for people 18+ so it's nice to go use the slides or diving board or pool when no other people are around. It was really easy to have so much fun with my friends and to be outside but able to cool off from the heat. It is such a nice water park to have to lay out but also be able to use the pool and other things to have a nice pool day. The views are rally pretty with it being situation in Golden! read more

The lap pool is our 'go to' pool in the summer. Opening at 6 a.m. there are only a few people swimming. At 6:30 a.m. the Marlins swim team shows up, taking 6 lanes, leaving 2 for lap swimming. It's fun to swim next to the age group swimmers. We typically swim 3k on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We take Thursday off. We don't typically come back and swim during the day - when the splash pool is crowded. But once in a while we do. There are always lanes open for lap swimming in the lap pool. And the diving board too. The splash pool is fun - if not to crowded and it's a warm day. The slides are fun. And the shallow area is great for young swimmers. All around - Splash is a great pool with fabulous views of Golden. Jump in and swim! read more

This has become our go-to pool for the summers. Kids like the slides and diving board, mom likes that it's never hard to find ample shade. Admission prices are steep-ish, IMO, but if you're considering this a "water park" and not just a pool then I suppose it's a steal. The lifeguard staff is too scant for the amount of swimmers, but this is just life in 2022. The snack bar could also use some major upgrades. Add shuffle board and cornhole to the mix and we'd be here daily. read more

My daughter and I always have fun at this water park. She loves watching the bucket dump at the top of the play structure. She does not love getting hit by the water from it, however. It didn't have an alarm when I was there to warn when it will dump so we had to keep an eye on it. Only the hardiest toddlers would be ok with this bucket dumping on them. Speaking of toddlers, they had the best little toddler slide that is super wide, short, but fun for the little ones. I didn't have to worry about her hogging up the slide while she sat at the top, fixated on where the water comes out, because there was enough room for other kids to get around her and go down. There was a little pad at the bottom. My two-year old had no problems. There was also a cute splash pad and a sandbox with showers to clean off afterwards. Everything here was so well thought out. My favorite thing was that there are restrooms towards the back of the park so I didn't have to haul a screaming toddler to the entrance when I needed to go to the bathroom. Splash used to be great. But new this year, nobody of any age is allowed to do flips off of the diving board. I feel very strong about this because it was a big part of my growing up, and the justification of it being a bad example to kids who will try it and get hurts is stupid to me. Any kid who gets hurt more then a belly flip on water did so because the parents just cut them loose and stopped paying attention. The lifeguards job only begins when someone goes unconscious or fails to keep their head above water. I would much rather have my kid learn how to do flips in a controlled environment with a lifeguard then be trying it for the first time at a lake with their friends. By letting your kid use the diving board you are trusting them to use it to their own ability, and if you choose to sue the park because your kid hurt themselves doing something stupid then you are the reason why nobody else can have fun anymore. Stop drawing lines in the sand and be more involved with your kids. read more

To be completely honest with you I think it is a shame that establishment like this can't stay open through the summer months because they claim to not be able to find help. It is literally the middle of August and this place is already closed don't waste your time... big thumbs down read more

Tucked away behind the Fossil Trace Golf Course is The Splash, a super-cool, family-friendly water park. By "family-friendly," I mean that most of the kiddies here are under 12, plus there are NO slides or rides that'll cause you to scream, pee yourself, or lose you bikini top (or bottom). Similar to Pirate's Cove in Englewood, but substantially smaller, The Splash is just as cheap (free to $9.00, depending on your age and county of residency) as Pirates Cove and just as fun for the little ones on the West side! The "Leisure Pool" (leave your polyester suits and gold chains at home) is the central attraction here, and boasts a cool, splashy, squirty climbing structure at its center, complete with two big tunnel slides and a massive dump bucket. There's also a lap pool, a diving pool, a play fountain, and two larger waterslides. Teenagers will probably have a better time at wilder, scarier (and way more expensive) Water World, but this place is bomb-diggity for the shorties. Word to the wise: if you're planning having The Splash host your kid's birthday party, make sure they stay ON IT as far as timetables go. The shaded pavillions are only reserved in 1.5 hour blocks, and once your time is up they will BOOT YOUR ASS. Yes, even if they haven't brought out your kid's cake and ice cream yet. My friend's daughter's party was ousted by some "Jon & Kate+8" lookalikes who had the next time slot, and we had to wrangle cake, ice cream, and presents balanced atop a couple hot, shadeless lounge chairs. I mean, yeah... the average age of the staff there is maybe 18.5, so it isn't exactly shocking that time management isn't one of their strong suits. Whatever, though.... all the kids has a blast and that's really what counts! read more

On the day we went, the weather was perfect and the crowd was just right, not too empty and not too crowded. Everything seemed clean. The lifeguards were a bit of a problem. There is a rope that separates the slides' "splashdown" area from the rest of the pool so as to prevent swimmers from being crashed into at the bottom of the slide. Two or three of the lifeguards insisted on repeatedly yelling at people on the *outside* of the splashdown area -- people in the general swim area -- for being "too close" to the rope. Most of the lifeguards didn't do this, thankfully, but a few did. Every person who got yelled at was confused because the rope *defines the area where it's ok to be*. A couple of lifeguards, though, had some ambiguous undefined buffer zone in the general swim area that they vigorously policed and it was super obnoxious. Meanwhile, while they were enforcing this non-rule, they allowed kids to run on the deck, and there was absolutely ZERO enforcement of the posted rule about staying within an arm's length of your child if your child is 5 yr old or younger. The pool contained primarily 2 and 3 yr olds and not a single one of them was near an adult. In fact, other than myself, there were no adults in the water at all. At one point a little 3 yr old came bobbing over to me, wearing a life vest, and asked if he could hold my hand because he couldn't control his drift. So I would say the lifeguards need to realign their priorities some. The other issue that was really obnoxious: We arrived at like 1pm. I went to see if the snack bar was open -- it was a bit of a dead day there and I wanted to be sure. They were open. There were two surly looking teens in charge of the grill (but just sitting there staring at their phones) and a girl at the counter. I asked the girl how late they would be open because I couldn't remember from when I had checked the website if it was 5:30 or 6pm, and she said 6pm. Another unseen girl corrected her, saying they'd be open til 5:30. This was good because I had not fed my kid lunch at home before coming, knowing it would be fun for him and his buddy to get a burger at the snack bar. Come 3pm, we head to the snack bar and it's closed. I went to the little office area to ask what gives, and there are six or seven teenagers crammed in there messing around and they tell me they closed because sales were slow. I understand this to a certain extent, but it wasn't like they were saving any money by closing the snack bar. All of these kids were still on the clock, only now they were standing around doing nothing. It can be a tricky needle to thread when you have a snack bar at a place where there is going to be uncertain sales, but you simply HAVE to keep it open because there are people coming there depending on it. At this facility more than most, since there is nowhere else to get any food nearby. Maybe they could have made an announcement? Like "Attention swimmers, the snack bar will be closing early so if you want something to eat, please head over now." That would have been a fantastic way to deal with it. read more

Decent park for half day entertainment. Nice welcome staff. Incredibly annoying that they conduct "adult swim" and kick kids out if "leisure" pools so that a few grown men can go down the slides by themselves for 15 minutes. Meanwhile groups of kids are stuck waiting on the side of the pool. Seems ridiculous....especially when there is daunting weather, etc. Would understand if it was for the lap pools, but the slides and play structures? Be prepared about strange policy. read more

This an inexpensive water park that seems to be geared particularly for the 5-12 range. They have a great sand play area as well as a fountain zone my 3-year-old loved. While the main play area has slides and tunnels and a structure all completely safe for a swimmer his age he was pretty fearful of the giant bucket of water that dumps from the top every few minutes. While wading around in the zero death area would have been fun I was pretty anxious of him getting run over by some of the older kids. It's pretty crowded but since it's small it's easy to keep track of kiddos if they choose to run wet and wild! read more

Always a great time! The large slides are great. They have a 48 inch height requirement but they allow those kiddos under that height to go with a parent. Most other parts don't allow so this is a great perk! Sometimes gets crowded and you can expect the afternoon storm. Every hour they have adult swim for 5-10 minutes and keep the splash pad (and sandbox!) open for the kiddos. read more

Finally, an outdoor lap pool where people actually swim laps! And only $3.75 if you are a resident! You pay more if you want access to the water park part (slides and such). They have 4 lanes going at all times, the other half has a deep end with a diving board. Sometimes it can be quite crowded and you will have to share a lane, but I love it that they clearly have a sign stating the etiquette of sharing a lane: circle swim or share sides. Weekends are of course busy, get there early to claim your spot. I love the price, the water quality is good, and there are plenty of good loungers to take a nap on after your swim. Oh, and they have an outdoor grill if you get the munchies! read more

Went there on Saturday august 4th, was first in the door. Neat place for kids, nice features, alright water slides. The problem was the pool, changing rooms, and bathrooms were filthy!! Right when they open you would think the place would be somewhat clean. The pool had debris everywhere in it, it's also gross seeing bandaids floating around. I would rather use a portapotty then those bathrooms and urine smelling changing rooms, disgusting! Hopefully this review will get this staff off their asses. Mop your floors and clean your pool!! I would guess that's why they clear the pool every hour, to keep things sanitary? read more

We discovered the Splash this summer, and I'm glad we did. My kids had a great time here, and every time we went, they met other nice kids to play with for the afternoon. We also discovered that if we went during the "twilight hours" after 4:30pm, we could get a much discounted rate. An hour of 15 minutes of play for $6 is pretty good. Took my kids today and was there for less than an hour. 5 busses pulled up and there were 20-30 kids in each bus. Those kids added to the 5 million others, there was barely any room for my kids and I to swim!!! My two toddlers kept getting jumped on and kept getting pushed and shoved under the water by lack of room in the pool. They refused to give me a refund back, too. Ridiculous. My kiddos are 9 & 10, and we've been coming here since they were toddlers. Deducted one star for two shortcomings: A) the bathrooms are pretty gross; be sure to go at home before you come and B) they offer "twilight pricing" after 4:30 p.m. (which is $1, $2, or $3 depending on your age), but they don't mention it ANYWHERE on the website or in the "hours" or "pricing" options in their phone tree. It's like they really, REALLY don't want you to know about it. ;) But we always check the hourly weather and if it looks clear, aim straight for the twilight hours -- the crowd usually has cleared out by then too. Otherwise, it's a clean, fun place, and a great way to spend a few lazy hours on summer weekends! read more

This place was actually pretty fun. It's small, but it's the size of a regular public pool and a lot more fun. I deducted a star because the slides HURT MY ASS on every section transition. They need to do something about that. Other than that, it was a good time, the kids loved it, and it's small enough that I can sit and chill on a chair and even engross myself in some shameless mobile device activity without losing site of the kids. read more

This is a great public pool and water park for families with kids. It's really clean, and feels more like a country club pool than one owned and managed by the City. My only compliant is that there is no real area besides the lap pool that's deeper than a couple of feet. So, if you aren't there to swim laps, but want to be fully submerged, you've got to crouch down into a near seated postion to get wet. Overall, great pool for the kids, and the cleanliness makes it enjoyable for adults. read more
