After being severely disappointed by Elitch Gardens as an avid theme-park lover, I am very glad I found this place! We've been here twice now and I can honestly say this is the best water park I've been to. First of all, it is SO CLEAN! No trash, no bugs, nothing -- it's honestly shocking. Secondly, it's massive! There are so many slides here and it's a great place for adults and kids, since they have different levels of thrill. Additionally, the slides are pretty unique! There are several slides with immersive theming that we were very impressed by. They do have your standard slides, but if you are looking for something more unique they have that too! Both times we've come here was on a weekend and we've never had a problem finding chairs or waiting in lines for food. This past time we went we got the tube valet and it was 100% worth it. If you are on the fence about it, I would highly recommend it. It's way less wait times and you don't have to carry your tube up the big hills. Additionally, as someone who is very sensitive to heat, this was a game changer for me. I would not visit Water World again without this purchase! They also let you bring in your own food and drinks in a cooler, which is very rare to find at any kind of theme park these days. In my experience, the food and drink available for purchase was pretty reasonable for a theme park, not overly expensive. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and will absolutely be back. read more

My sister came to visit and flagged this place as somewhere she wanted to go. I honestly had no idea it existed until then, but wow - it was a lot of fun. There are a ton of slides and they are a blast! It's so big that we didn't get to everything despite trying hard to do so. There is excellent variety. My favorite was Lost River of the Pharaohs. The one big thing that I really disliked is the "Tube Valet" system. Specifically, the way this park allows guests who spend more to skip the lines. I can definitely see how paying more to not have to carry a tube is good for accessibility, but the skipping the lines component is just greedy and it makes the experience worse for everyone else. It creates a class system within the park and I deeply resent it. In fact, there are certain slides I won't bother with again if I come back as the lines are already slow and "Tube Valet" kills my interest as I don't want to spend all day in line. Those rides are Mile High Flyer and Revolution. They were fun, but it doesn't matter when you spend so long in line that you ultimately miss riding other things. The "Tube Valet" alone prevented this place from getting 5 stars. It's gross. Keep in mind that we came during the day on a weekday in the hopes of lines being less awful. If I visit again, I will do a few things differently. 1. I will pack nearly nothing so I don't have to pay for a locker (they are pricey at $16 - $21 depending on size). The exception would be if coming with a group large enough that a public space could be secured with a non-swimmer. If I were part of such a group, I would pack a cooler (following cooler size limitations on the website) as well as a few other small items like sunblock. 2. I will not ride Revolution or Mile High Flyer 3. I will eat either before or after to avoid paying in park (or do the group with a cooler method). 4. I will apply lots of sunblock before entering the park so I do not have to carry it in. Overall worth a visit, but consider the limitations inflicted by "Tube Valet." read more

The place is just way overcrowded they need to limit their ticket sales. If you enjoy spending an hour in each line, then do it. It's otherwise pretty good. One of the rides was an hour and a half for a five minute ride. The problem is they over sell way past their capacity. read more

Waterpark obsessed girlie here! Water World totally surprised me -- built right into the hills and little mountains, it feels like an adventure just walking around! The park is huge with some of the most creative slides and water adventures I've ever tried. Loved the themed rides too -- so cute and made everything extra fun! all of the food staff are extremely rude and disrespectful, i went to three different stands while i was there and every staff member in the food area was very rude, i was laughed at by two women working the burger and chicken sandwich area. Other than that all the lifeguards were very kind and hardworking! it really frustrated me that the bathrooms were closed for a while and i could not find an open one. We were on vacation in Denver and made WatwrWorld a stop. We sprung for a bungalow on a Sunday to keep our stuff secure and it was worth it to have dedicated chairs and a safer space for our stuff while we ran around. The slides and attractions were really great, we actually appreciated getting in some exercise carrying tubes to ride start locations but if it's you and your younger kids, you're gonna be carrying that sucker by yourself! (Or purchase tube valet but it didn't seem worth it since you still have to take tubes a little ways down to enter the ride). The Journey to the Center of the Earth is a must-do, and we liked the very tall body-slides as well. The staff were actually great, all very friendly, asking how we enjoyed the ride. Super personable for teenagers so great job to whoever does their customer service training. We did purchase a few food items and they were expensive but good, especially the fries. Definitely would recommend this place for a hot day in Denver. read more

Water World was the absolute favorite part of our Colorado trip! (Not to be confused with the Kevin Costner movie LOL) We had so much fun at Water World in Federal Heights. I didn't get many pics because my underwater camera wasn't working right after a few snaps, so you'll just have to trust me. I am sort of a whimp when it comes to heights/fast rides/rollercoasters, but I had fun on the rides that I did try at Water World. Even if you don't do any of the scarier rides, you can still have tons of fun just doing different slides/swimming/and the wave pool. The wave pool was probably my favorite part of the park and I stayed there for hours. They have a lot of rides and activities that aren't too crazy on the heights or scariness, so I think this would be good for the whole family! read more

So this place I now see why their tickets are so cheap! The only way you would even get to ride most rides and that's an iffy is if you buy their fast pass. I wish I had known about this because the lines were insane, I've also never been to a water park where you hike with a big ass tube for almost a mile, well it felt like it. Almost all rides you have to first wait in a long freaking line for a tube then take a nice hike w that tube in the heat and then wait in another long line for the actual ride. To me it's just not worth it. Even the fast pass lines were getting ridiculous. If you're handicapped good luck! That's all I'll say. Definitely not a handicapped friendly water park. Also don't waste your money on the dining deal. It's not every restaurant you can choose from it's like 3 things and it's only pizza burgers and I believe hotdogs. # The Most Disappointing Experience *Avoid having any expectations when renting a cabana.** The stark reality is that you are essentially paying a high price just for shade. I reserved a cabana in Alpine Springs for eight of us, with the main goal of surprising my husband and celebrating his 40th birthday with friends. We arrived at 9 a.m. for the **"early admission."** Upon entering the park, I approached the ticket checker and inquired about the best way to reach our cabana. She instructed us to go right once inside, but those directions were completely inaccurate. We then decided to stop by the **"customer service desk"** to ask for help, but after waiting in line for 45 minutes, the employee could not locate our reservation, even though we had the confirmation email and reservation number. By now, it was 10:15 a.m., and all my guests were arriving, eager to participate in the surprise, leading to a frustrating waste of an hour and a half. Eventually, we made our way to Alpine Springs, but the surprise was already spoiled, as guests were left waiting. Upon arriving at the cabana, we found ourselves having to locate it without any guidance from staff, who seemed unaware of the layout. At 11:30 a.m., the surprise was completely ruined. Our **"host"** also failed to have our reservation noted. After explaining the situation, we were finally escorted to cabana #9. Once inside, I requested the wristbands, popcorn, cups, and other items included in our **"Big Kahuna Package."** To my dismay, they did not have these items listed either, forcing me to show my bank transaction to prove we had indeed paid for the **"BIGGEST Package."** The Big Kahuna Package claims to offer unlimited soda, which is true; however, you must fetch it yourself from the bottom of the hill. Refills are permitted only every 30 minutes, and you receive just 18 seconds of soda per visit. Each person gets one paper cup, and if you lose it, no replacements will be provided! Popcorn and ice are unlimited as well, but we had to wait for our host to bring them to us. Unfortunately, we did not receive any ice or popcorn until after 2 p.m., which rendered their inclusion pointless. For the **Dip n' Dots,** you are given a voucher but must collect it on your own and use it that same day. As for the **Fast Pass,** we received one, but while it is valid for four people, only one person can wear it. What are the other three supposed to do while our friend uses it? Our host was not knowledgeable about certain rides, what the Fast Pass included, or even that there was a fan in our cabana. They did not assist us in any way. The promise of having a host implies a level of service similar to that of a server, but this was far from the case. Shouldn't the cabana have been set up and welcoming? Why am I paying $484.98 plus tax (not including admission tickets) for mere shade, a table, and a fan? I am extremely disappointed, as this was intended to be a grand surprise for my husband's 40th birthday, but it turned into a headache instead. We didn't even get to experience any rides until after 12:30 p.m. After this experience, we will never rent a cabana again or spend this amount of money. read more

2.5/5 The rides were great. Just wish we would have paid more attention to the reviews mentioning the lines....because they were totally nuts. We got to Water World at around 10:15 and waited probably 45 minutes to get to the entrance gates. The line was moving fast so we thought we'd be fine. Ended up waiting well over an hour for our first ride. In our first 3.5 hours in the park, we only got 2 rides in. Even lines that looked short took forever. We didn't get to ride several rides we wanted to, because it just wasn't worth waiting in line for 50+ minutes. The rides we did go on were great. Mile High Flyer, the Revolution, and Journey to the Center of the Earth were lot of fun. But not worth hour-long waits. I hadn't been to a water park in a long time, but thought it was weird that you have to carry your own raft tube (the bigger kind that fit 5 or so adults) all the way to the start of the ride. They were large and weren't super light since they were water logged, and we found it a bit exhausting as two moderately fit adults. At least the long lines gave us a nice break! All the parks I went to as a kid used a conveyer belt-type contraption to bring those kinds of tubes up to the top. Purchasing your tickets online will save you a few dollars. Locker rentals are convenient throughout the park and start at $15/day. If we ever went back, I'd splurge and buy Tube Valet, as that's the only way I can see actually getting to ride the rides -- those folks were flying by to the front of the lines. Tube Valet does sell out (was sold out when we entered the park). The park seemed relatively clean. If Water World put a more reasonable cap on daily guests, I'd totally be back because the park itself is great. read more

Our family loved the rides, however, not sure I would recommend a Cabana. We rented one because it seemed safer than leaving our belongings in the park. We received bracelets, but there was not an employee checking bracelets. We put our belongings in the safe and cash was stolen out of my wallet and my husband's wallet. I'll be honest. The food is terrible. You can't buy just a side of fries but an actual meal. The lines are crazy. You can only refill a cup every 30 minutes which I get because people would take advantage but when it's 100 degrees out, maybe offer unlimited ice water. It's high altitude and dehydration is real. The staff really really doesn't seem to care about guest experiences. And you can only add money to the season park band from inside the park. So if I drop my kids off, I have to go in and add money. It's ridiculous. This is the only place I have ever heard of where you can't add money to a bracelet from your phone. We even paid extra for the tube valet because I have a bad back and can't carry the tubes and watched employees not really caring. And when I complained, I got a shrug in response. Look... I get it. It's a bunch of teens and I sound like an entitled Jack wagon but it really isn't my intent. The overall experience yesterday just made me question why I bothered paying to go. The only saving grace are the lifeguards. They really do pay attention to what is going on, especially at the bigger wave pool. Coming from California to visit family in Colorado, I already had planned to get the Tube Valet to maximize the day and time. Heck I mean, when am I ever going to come back. Here's a super quick summary of that all, the Tube Valet experience in a nutshell: - You want to buy the Tube Valet early? Well you can't, the EARLY ACCESS TICKET PEOPLE will get them first because they sell out in minutes, regardless if you have a 9:45 entrance time. Don't be fooled, 9:45 entrance time from buying it online will NOT secure you a Tube Valet AT ALL, regardless if you're in the front of the gates. Don't waste your time waking up early to get here to get a Tube Valet, you just won't (unless you LUCKILY GET ONE trying the alternative method below). - You couldn't get it early morning, you want to buy the Tube Valet at 1:30? Well unless you're LITERALLY THE 1ST PERSON IN LINE AT THE GUEST SERVICES, the chances of getting it are ZERO. I was the 4th person in line after waiting ever since 12:20 in the incredibly hot sun getting sunburnt and they ran out. Sick experience. I can't comprehend why this system is soo poorly designed, they should just sell a certain specific amount per guest services instead of taking them all from a pool. Or better yet, just tell certain people in the line like hey, you're not gonna get it. They have the audacity to tell the 100+ people in line that they all have a chance. Where in fact, only 3 do. What's wrong with them, seriously. - A Tip: If you want to do the guest services route at 1:30 (the only real possible route because you basically can't buy them online for some reason or in the morning unless you're an early access person), go wait at a guest service area THAT'S INDOORS and be there by 11:50 or 12:00. You see one person in line, it's over, go to another one. You see one person in line at every single one? Well cross your fingers! Ridiculous In conclusion, if you want an expensive picnic, this is your place. But if you want to experience slides and some thrills, well have fun waiting 1-2 hours per slide in the hot sun JUST TO GET A TUBE. Then walk up massive hills and wait for an EXTRA 30 MINUTES IN THE SUN AGAIN. If you're from California like me, honestly, stick with Raging Waters or Soak City. We went today for our yearly family visit. If our kids get invited by someone else, as in, someone else pays and takes them? Yeah they can go! Haha but I only go once per year with my charges, so of course it's all good. Today was great and lines were not too bad. We rented a two seater bungalow by the wave pool and set up towels behind it under the trees, so we'd have more shady space. It always works out great when we do this. Decide what day you want to go, purchase tickets online ahead of time, and spring for the bungalow and the tube valet. If you wait until the day of to get tickets, you risk the bungalows and valet being sold out. Also....Get there the moment the park opens, maybe even 15-30 minutes earlier, so you can get in as fast as possible. And for Petes sake don't bring pringles chips. Sheesh. They stopped us at the x ray machines. We felt like we were at security at the airport. METAL CANS!!! Stick with Lays or SunChips. That being said....Bring in your own lunches, drinks, and snacks to offset the cost. read more

overall happy with our experience. The day that we went, the weather forecast was a little overcast. We purchased our tickets in advance so we were able to easily enter. Masks were not required for vaccinated people. people with medical disabilities were able to get a wrist band to take 3 other friends and have a valet for the raft. So they were able to not have to wait the line which was nice especially because of their disabilities the long wait would have been really hard for them. Lockers are available but they are expensive. I believe the prices were $15 and $26 for a day? I can't remember for sure, its been a few weeks. You pay with your credit card. Just be sure you get what you paid for. Me and another adult in our group paid for a large locker but the small lockers is what opened up. We had to spend around 40 minutes waiting for a manager to try to fix it for us. The rides were fun. A couple were closed. our group got to ride everything that they wanted to because the lines were not super long. It was a good day to be there. We were happy with our experience. read more

TLDR; your kids will love it, and you will feel like you are being punished for something you did in a past life. I went to Water World as part of a mom and daughter trip with two of my friends and their daughters (ages 8 and 9). The girls LOVED it. For 3 middle-aged moms? 3rd circle of hell. As a disclaimer, I think many of my woes would be solved via cabana rental and tube valets. However, we purchased just general admission with no add ons, so take that for what you will. Be prepared for major amusement park pricing and crowds. For the slides we were able to go on, we waited between 45 and 90 minutes to get a tube. The wave pool is mainly waves slamming you into grown men with dad bods living their michael Phelps dreams or unattended children ages 3 to 17. The lazy River is more like lazy traffic jam of flesh. The food situation is a debacle. You order in one line and pick up in another. However, this is not made apparent anywhere and it is also not a consistent process from kiosk to kiosk, so just because you mastered ordering at one place does not mean you'll know what to do any where else. Setting aside the obvious annoyances, because the place is also an effort in physical endurance, I find it odd that they also make it so difficult for people to eat and drink. If you're local, you can bring in your own food, but then you have to find secure storage, which doesn't really exist unless you rent a cabana, so most tables and chairs are taken almost immediately by families' belongings, so finding a table to eat is a pipe dream. They have an order ahead option, but use with caution. We tried it and just never got our food. We ordered around 1:00 and left around 4:45 and were never notified that our food was ready. We tried to inquire after about an hour, but no one could tell us what to do or what was happening. A kind teenaged male lifeguard with a bloody nose also butted in to demand his meal break food while simultaneously accusing one of my friends of being a Karen (she was a level 1 Karen at most). The staff is comprised of almost exclusively children who are completely unaware of any park policies or procedures. We went on a Sunday so most of the staff looked like like had been out late the night before and obviously did not want to be spending their day catering to a generally inconsiderate horde of sweaty tourists. When we arrived, we asked about renting a bungalow or cabana and were told there were some available by one person and to go to guest services. We waited in line for 20 minutes at guest services, only to be told we had been ill informed. In hindsight, this was our canary in the coal mine. While going through security, a family carrying literal bags of luggage into the park just started their own security check after pressuring another employee to let them bypass the line. After the above-mentioned incident of paying $100ish for food we didn't receive, it took us easily four attempts at guest services to be refunded. At one point, two guest services employees overhead us talking about it and immediately went to a restricted area and closed the booth to avoid having to speak to us. The rides themselves are cool albeit kind of scary. While the water attractions themselves are impressive, the process of actually taking the ride negates any joy or thrill you may feel for the 30-120 seconds you're on it. For any rides that use a tube, you first wait in line for an extended period of time to get a tube. The line doesn't move particularly rapidly so get ready to make friends with those around you. We had the pleasure of sharing the line a teenage boy with a questionable rash openly fondle his girlfriend's breasts, which led to some fun conversations. When you get to the front of the line, an apathetic lifeguard hands you a tube that you get to carry up unwieldy and steep pathways to get to the entrance to the ride. I'm sure single tubes are no big deal, but we were carrying multi person tubes with just one adult, and it is DIFFICULT. I found this to be the most insane aspect of this fever dream of a water park: having to pay admission to haul a cumbersome raft up stairwells and pathways that are at least a 35-40 degree incline. For as big of an operation as they are running, you'd think they find a better way like every other water park on earth. The tube valet will allow you to avert this if you can get it (sold out on our day). Otherwise, be prepared to literally experience what it feels like to be Sisyphus. It gets one star for: - food is actually decent and they have adult beverages - clean comparative to other water parks. - a lot of do. read more

We go to Water World 1-2 times per year. Yesterday was by far our best experience. Water World was never bad before in my opinion, but there was a serious difference in the friendliness of the staff. The teens running the rides were engaging and friendly. They made eye contact and asked us fun questions! The life guards made several saves throughout the day. One included my own child. I was within arms reach and he was where he could stand, but something about the way he was swimming concerned the gaurd. I will take a life gaurd who is engaged and overly cautious any day over one who is disengaged and unconcerned. I thanked him for his attention and concern. There must be a serious effort at making sure the staff is engaged friendly. Great job to whoever is managing the staff. Please be sure to pass my review along to them! read more

I went to WaterWorld alone; a single older female, on a weekday, not a weekend and I stayed all day long. Because I have some gray hair, as I bought my ticket, they gave me the senior discount, which is a huge savings! I did not correct them or insist on paying full price, even though I was not over 60. The weather could not have been more perfect: sunny and warm, but not uncomfortably hot. I did not eat the park food; usually I don't like it, as it is usually caloric with lots of fat and sugar. I did rent an expensive locker, but next time, I won't. I'll bring a waterproof phone case and carry my phone, because that was the only valuable thing I needed to lock up. I had almost no wait for any of the ride lines, because I was solo; I got on the "single" line. Since many rides have seating for 4 or 5 or 6, and if there are not that many people in a group together, they take a solo person from the "single" line to fill the seat/row. That line moved very quickly on every ride where I used it. I made friends with two teenage girls (who have season passes and spend the entire summer there!) and they knew everything about that park! (It was my first time.) We went on several of rides together, and they explained park visit strategies. It could not have been a more wonderful day. read more

I asked if they could honor the online price and they told me no, yet the people in front of me, online pricing. When I asked to talk to a manager, they told me there was no one available. We arrived around 2:00 to avoid the morning crowds. It worked out well. We're able to get shaded parking close to the entrance. The staff are all twenty-somethings; some are very friendly while others would rather be somewhere else. Coming later probably plays into that. The lockers tend to he busy, but appear to be very safe. The food is pricey, so we brought our own snacks. The gondolas weren't running, so we had to walk the long distance from the entrance to our reserved seats. The "elite" tube service does not include freedom from carrying them to the top, and they can be very heavy. I wouldn't return only because I don't enjoy watching all sizes and shapes of people in suits that leave nothing to the imagination. Haha. There are plenty if pools and slides to accommodate everyone's joy. If you don't like crowds don't go. read more

I came to Colorado for a wedding but I always make sure to make some time for a waterpark or theme park. I decided on this place because I heard so many good things about it. I've been more waterparks than I can count and all I can say about this place is WOW! I found this place to be very affordable since you bring your own food. I only had a smoothie there for less than $5 and it was one of the best smoothies I ever had. Although I was so sad that 'Warp Speed' and 'Pharaoh's Feast' was closed. I was looking forward to those. The admission was $45 I believe which for all the rides is a steal in my opinion plus free parking! I spent 10am-6pm here and got on the majority of the rides. The 'Voyager to the Center of the Earth' and 'Lost River of the Pharaohs' are worth the trip here because they are absolutely incredible and something I have YET to find in any other waterpark. I did have a very lucky day since most of those rides were walk ons for me. I only waited maybe 30 minutes to an hour for two rides, other than that they were walk ons. The park was super clean, VERY friendly staff and I was shocked how accommodating they were for the disabled. It was such a breath of fresh air. Also, those lockers without the stupid wristbands --- incredible. Some important information/tips for people going: ***GET THE TUBE VALET. Yes, it's $80 but honestly 110% worth it. Those hills and carrying those tubes are a killer and you will save so much time and energy. Also, buy it in advance! ***GET THERE AS SOON AS THE PARK OPENS! ***FIRST GO TO 'VOYAGER OF THE CENTER OF THE EARTH'!! It's the best ride there and I went there first and walked right on. I checked back later in the day and the wait was over 60 minutes. What a place! I will be talking about it with my friends and family for quite some time. If I'm ever back in Denver, I will 100% be back and recommend it! read more
