His work is absolutely impeccable- I get a skin fade with scissor work weekly and he never ever disappoints! Did not get a chance to get a cut before I left to go out of town. When I arrived in Miami, searched in Yelp for local barbers. The Spot , a chain, popped up. Good reviews and they were a mile walk from my hotel. Scheduled online. Jaz was Barber. An hour later, I was bald again and beard trimmed. I looked like a million dollars. The black mask and facial steam was a nice added touch. On occasion, I do the nose wax and this was one of those occasion. As well, I like the bar setup. Drinks are included. I loved the wall art and decor. The staff were very nice. All appointments and pricing are online. Definitely looking forward to a future visit. read more

I really dk why people gave such horrible reviews from the past, but my experience was great. Rafael was my barber and he did an exceptional job. I know 30$ is a bit much for haircut, but this place is close to where I live, and haircut plus a drink, kinda evens out the value. To start, Rafael was very kind, and he tried to understand exactly how I wanted my hair cut. When he forgot my specific instructions about how to cut my corners, he paused and asked instead of improvising. He takes his time to meticulously make both sides even, but he was not slow or shaky. In the end, my .5-1 fade turned out well, and I didnt lose a chunk of hair in one corner. In between, another barber made coffee and even offered me an espresso shot. The coffee helped a lot since I was getting ready for night shift. I hope he stays because i may just stick to this barber for a while! read more

The WORST FADE / HAIRCUT EVER. I walk in only 1 person was cutting hair other barber was reading and refused to cut me because his "appointment" was coming at 11am. It was 9:30am when I came in and I had to convince him I would be a quick / easy customer. Afterwards didn't offer for me to see the haircut with a mirror and charged me $30 for a haircut before the tip. Never coming back, this was the worst. I got my hair cut from him, after the hair cut he was begging me for money for a future hair cut.. soon after he just kept asking me for money until I told him it was unprofessional and I didn't even feel safe to go back to get a hair cut from that place I requesting my money back and texted him, no answer. I scheduled the standard 45 minute haircut. The barber finished in 15 mins and spent 10 of those minutes spaced out looking out the window. Very strange interaction altogether. Did not offer to wash my hair or use a straight razor on my sideburns and neck. Usually that's a given at this price. Could've gone to super cuts and gotten the same cut. Jae kills it with all the little details you wouldn't normally get from even most seasoned barbers and is just a genuine guy that's great to talk. I have been a client of the Spot for years. I can safely recommend anyone at design district or anyone else at this shop but Ben. Ben not only has not a single clue what he's doing he makes matters worse by not following any kind of methodology and then blaming it on the client. I told Ben I wanted a low fade my fade ended up being all the way up into my hairline and not blended he started to take off my cape when I told him what about the other side, yes, your read that correctly this guy was going to let me walk out uneven. He could finally see I was getting upset. I had a haircut two weeks or less ago. You could clearly see the lines where my hair had been faded. I told him from the start I had a wedding to attend. Ben took scissors to the right side after I told him it was uneven something a basic barber should be able to figure out. What least made sense was Ben had used clippers on the left side so why would he be evening it out with scissors? He then nonchalantly passed me off to someone else. No accountability and no apology. Luckily the replacement was able to fix what he could but I look like Woody the woodpecker with a Mohawk when what I wanted was a low fade. Honestly would have been better off shaving my head bald than letting this guy cut my hair. Worst 50 dollars I've ever spent. He makes the Spot look bad. The Spot has a great reputation for having some excellent barbers how he made the cut is beyond me. He shouldn't be a barber he jabs your head with the clippers while he destroys your hair. Maybe you read this and think I'm being dramatic but I have an autoimmune I've lost a lot of hair and finally after 6 months had it at my desired length I just wanted it cleaned up and this person without much care or caution ruined that. I respect someone more if they say hey I don't know how to do that than to try and epically fail. I will never go back to this location. read more

So disappointed at what is passing for barber these days. I reserved and paid for a "45 minute" haircut that was rushed thru and finished in about 26 minutes, I know because Of the amount of time that was left on my parking meter...and the lack of attention shows in the haircut. Not blended correctly and while I thought I could live with it, today it shows. Top is a mess, literally worst haircut I've ever had because of the price.
