All the hype and TikTok videos took my family and I here! My daughter and I ordered.. a gyro and cheese fry.. both were VERY good! My other daughter ordered.. mild buffalo wings and a fry.. VERY good! Now, my husband ordered a dipped beef and fried mushrooms.. TERRIBLE! The size of the beef was a good amount but no flavor at all and very dry meat! The fried mushrooms were breaded.. same thing you can get anywhere else.. nothing special! But.. otherwise.. everything else was great and hot!! All I can say is what an outstanding establishment. Today was my first time here and for sure not my last. First off this place although is small is PACKED with hospitality. From the time you walk in to the time you leave they treat you like family. The owner overheard we missed some items and instead of walking by he adjusted the order. Also, he went out of his way to make our orders right. The portions are big and you leave full and satisfied. We live in the Illinois area and will absolutely make the commute here. Phenomenal gyros especially for the price and size. One thing that could've been better is the attention to detail.. I had the Italian sub and asked to remove a couple veggies from the sub and they forgot. It also happened to my husband who doesn't eat cheese and he asked to be removed and the people that made the sub did not do what the ticket said so it was a pain to get off. As the kids would say: Meh. It definitely does not live up to the hype. The parking lot is awkward, small, crowder, and at the worst location. Inside is no better. It's tiny, cramped, and too close for comfort to order, wait, much less eat. The staff was pleasant but food takes a while. I ordered an original gyro, no modifications. This was a flop. The meat did not have salt or much taste, the pita is too thin and breaks apart, and the amount of meat is so much it's overwhelming. Two for two. Can't seem to get the order correct. Was at the register and ordering the owner was standing there asking questions. We orders God Father on French Bread and when asked what dressing the owner stated the Italian is the best so I agreed and some how still got thousand island. It's discouraging. AJs restaurant & deli is new to the area and is definitely well on its way to becoming a new Kenosha staple. The location is very convenient as I feel like there aren't many food options like this on this side of town. We tried a gyro, fries, a burger & chicken tenders & everything came out fresh and tasted great. The gyro was huge and full of meat and the portion size of everything else was very generous as well. Oh boy! The parking is crazy out of control. The facility is rather small for how busy it was. The wait time to order was rather short, but waiting on the food was a bit longer. They have three or four tables and encouraged you to sit in the area with the slots while you wait for your order. They also offer a free bottle of water. We took our order to go. I ordered a God Father and was actually rang up as and got the Italiano. I also ordered a gyro with extra sauce. My wife ordered a BBQ gyro and fries. ​The staff was nice and orders were coming out quickly. The serving size is large. This place is a gem. I would say this is a grab and go kind of place. They have 3 tables and some chairs. On the other side is a high ledge you can stand and eat your food. The food was great. The Mega Gyro is more than enough for 2 people, dare I say more just get extra pita. We also order The Godfather Sandwich on Italian bread and you have know question where your money went on anything. The Gyro and the sandwich were loaded. Friendly people behind the counter. Have to give Props for their Gyro. I've been eating these for 50 years and it's been quite some time since I've had a good one. The last place that offered something that was a five star was in Libertyville IL and sold to another person who screwed it up after taking over. This gyro samwich is loaded with quality meat. It's enough for two large pita sandwiches. The onion and tomato were quality and proportioned properly. The tzatziki sauce was exceptional! The food comes in big portions. A regular sandwich can serve two people. I had the turkey and provolone. I only ate half. My dad ordered the gyro and we talked to a couple about the mega gyro. They said they bought the mega gyro and shared it and still had food left over. Great prices and great service. It didn't take long to order and the wait was not long either. What an awesome place. We stopped in because of videos we saw on Facebook. We shared and Italian beef and boy it was so freaking good. The A Jus was absolutely perfect. We got to talk to one of the owners who is the brother of AJ. He was a really nice guy. He gave us some sliced meats to taste and boy they were so good as well. My wife and I split the Mega Gyro. WOW! It was a lot bigger and better than I expected. It came with two pitas and two tzatziki sauces. We both ate to our fill and still barely made a dent in what we got. The tzatziki sauce is thick with a lot of cucumber shreds in it and definitely held together instead of melting to liquid like a lot of other places. The Gyro meat had a flavor and texture and was cooked to the right amount of browning without incinerating it. Loved everything about this Gyro! read more

We used to stop at Hungry Head every time we'd visit town to grab our favorite sandwiches and were so disappointed when they closed. Then we heard about this place so thought we'd give it a try. I must say it's definitely comparable, but slightly lacking in a couple ways. The sandwiches were a little dry/could've used more dressing, onions better diced vs sliced, lettuce chopped a little finer, and tomatoes better when sliced just a little bit thinner. Paielli's bread and meats/cheeses were perfect! Make these few small changes, smash it down and wrap it up tightly and you've got it mastered! We'll stop back again next time to try again! read more

What is all the hype? No seriously. Couldn't wait to try this place especially after all the advertisements and how much good things they do for other businesses ( like giving lunches, ect). But I was not prepared for awful food. Especially living in Wisconsin and we love good cheese curds and instead we got the hardest, over cooked, grossest cheese curds I have ever had, ever! Thankfully , our sandwiches were OK... as in edible and the fries were not the best but they could be improved. With all the advertising they do, I expected them to have good food. I mean how hard ( no pun) is it to make cheese curds? I am afraid to find out how the mozzarella sticks are.. or the cheeseburger?! We recently stopped by AJ's Deli in Kenosha and had such a great experience that I had to share. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious--fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and generously portioned. You can tell they really care about quality. We also tried the burger and fries, and they did not disappoint. The burger was juicy and cooked just right, with a soft, fresh bun that held everything together. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside--exactly what you want as the perfect side. What really made the visit stand out, though, was the service. Tony, the cashier, was awesome--friendly, funny, welcoming, and genuinely made the whole experience better. It's always nice to feel appreciated as a customer, and he definitely delivered. I can't say enough about this place. If you're a lifelong Kenosha resident who's been missing Mac's Deli, Lenci's, etc. Look no further. These guys revamped it and took it into the 21st century. I've tried many things on their menu so far, but my favorite now has to be their Italian beef. The beef is tender and flavorful, dipped and with provolone cheese and giardinera added. Perfection. Their sub sandwiches as well as their gyros taste great and are huge in portion size. You definitely get your moneys worth here. Also the wings are 10/10, the quality of chicken they use is better than any of the major chains could ever provide. Apps I recommend to eat are the jalapeño poppers or cheese fries. They did a nice job with cleaning up and breathing life back into the place, no frills, not pretentious or corporate-feeling. One half of the restaurant is a convenience store and the other is a bar with video poker. Only thing that's a bummer about this place is the parking situation - they get very busy so it can be difficult to get in and out of there at an intersection of two busy streets in town. Something to be mindful of if you're ever looking to head over there - be prepared if you don't find a spot right away. They also recommend ordering ahead thru the QR code on their menu. The gentlemen that operate this establishment are kind and friendly, and are passionate about the food they're serving. They've only been open a week so far (as of the time I'm posting this), but I foresee a long, successful future ahead for them. read more

The two drive in place near by are fine. This was better. The loaded fries are monster's! Crispy fries, gyro meat, sauce, and nacho cheese! Outstanding! I walked in and my husband ordered food. I went to sit at a table. All the tables were dirty. I grabbed the cleaner and sprayed the table and wiped it down with napkins. A girl seen me doing it and said I was doing it wrong. (As if a dirty table was t wrong) so then I sat down and she sprayed the table as I was sitting at it and wiped it with dirty towels. I say dirty because it was sitting on the condiment station at the entry door where anyone could put anything in it and everyone using the station are breathing in it. Then the twit argues with me. Including another 15 feet away running a cash register. Calling me a liar. A man I assume the owner apologized gave my husband back his money and insisted on giving him the food. OH YEAH, We didn't eat that! We fed a trash can with that stuff. He asked what he can do. I said watch the cameras and thank the girls for the loss or possible repeat customers. For the owner. Your business sometimes depends on the hoodlums you hire or maybe they were family. Either way. We won't be back. Food was very good. I had a reg gyro. I almost ordered a mega gyro. Glad I ordered the small one. The price was right too. I only got one cucumber sauce with it, but I'd ask the lady for another one.
