    Poutine menu

It was a cold day when but still there was a line up and I was waiting in the cold at -8°C for like 15 mins till I can get my poutine on my hand. I ordered Hang Over Poutine, which has a load of bacon, peameal and fry egg. You can see that the owner is very diligent in making each order to perfection. The bacon and egg are not just random bits and pieces, they are both carefully cut into rectangular shape big enough so you can get all the ingredients onto a fork easily. The gravy taste is mild, so it goes well with bacon, and cheese curds. What's unique about the poutine is that the fries is still crispy after soaked in the gravy for a while, and some of the fries stay crispy till I almost finished. The downside: it is not cheap..... A small poutine cost $11.99 ..... Definitely more expensive than other specialty poutine restaurants in Toronto. At this price point, I would expect they put some gold flakes on top of the poutine......

I love The Spudster! Let me start by saying there are 20 different types of poutine & 22 types of burger dressings. If you're feeling picky or intricate, they will meet your needs. I've visited twice after a lonnnngggg weekend with the girls. I usually opt for the classic poutine because I'm mostly too hung over to function. But let's be real, they have everything. You know when you wake up and could eat a mammoth, or when you wake up and could eat hardly anything? Well, the latter isn't this chip truck. They've got fish & chips, gourmet burgers, gourmet poutines, different little appys, cold drinks, etc. The price is decent for the size. A small classic poutine runs for about $7 (see my photo for reference of size). It's got plenty of squeaky cheese curds, hot gravy and crispy fries. I was aching after because I forced myself to devour the entire contents of the box. Next time I'll try their hangover poutine which apparently helps you forget the night before. This one is loaded with smoked bacon, grilled peameal, an egg, cheese curds and gravy. If you're passing by, take a pit stop and order some grub. They take debit!

I've had the pleasure of ordering a few Charcuterie boxes over the years and the quality and service is impeccable. I ordered a small charcuterie box which is a 10x10 box filled with meats, cheese, fruit, nuts, crackers and accoutrements. Simply delicious and the presentation is top notch. You can customize your box with your preferences, I love old age cheddar and old Parmesan. Everything was fresh and delicious, packaged well. If you are looking for Charcuterie boxes or a set up for any events. I would highly recommend them! Perfection!

I'm so happy that my first review of the year is a 5-star review!…read more Each year for New Year's, my husband and I just pick up a shrimp ring and a box of mixed hors d'oeuvres from the grocery store. This year I wanted something different... something special. A charcuterie board! Yes. That would be perfect. I was searching around online and found Charcuterie Pickering. They were close, their website was beautiful but most importantly, the reviews were great. I thought at first that they might be a better option for our corporate events but then I saw that they had all sorts of options available, large and small. I couldn't find a price list online so surely they're going to be too expensive for what I was looking for but thought, what did I have to lose by requesting a price list? I reached out via their website and Maria was quick to respond to my query. Much to my surprise (and happiness), the prices were reasonable. Since it was just for my husband and I, I opted for the small 10x10 box. Charcuterie Pickering accepts payment by etransfer and credit card (by phone). As I was paying by credit card, I had the opportunity to speak with Maria directly. She asked about allergies and preferences. Thankfully neither of us have any food allergies and because of that, I didn't want to limit her creativity by choosing any preferences. I wanted her to know that she had complete creative licence and mentioned my love for blue cheese so even that would be welcomed... you know, on the off-chance she may have some laying around. (Okay, so maybe that was one preference I was hoping she would include.) We scheduled our pick up for mid-afternoon on New Year's Eve and she came out to meet us at our car. Honestly, at first I was amazed by the weight of the box but as I peaked through the lid, my excitement grew! It was so hard to wait until later in the evening to have it and truth be told, we did dip into it a couple of times along the way. Our box included an assortment of meats, fresh and dried fruit, crackers, olives, jams, jellies and even honey with the most adorable wooden honey dipper. But there she was... tucked into a corner... the most glorious looking blue cheese! To be fair, that blue cheese was the reason why I couldn't wait and ended up sneaking a couple of bites early. Everything was absolutely fabulous... especially that blue cheese! My goodness, that blue cheese! Picking through the box was like a little food adventure... trying everything, in every combination. It was beautiful. It was delicious. It was perfect. I hope to make this my new New Year's tradition.

They have a lot of beautiful offerings, sandwiches sound delicious, teas, coffees, and other light breakfast options. Their hibiscus iced tea is incredibly refreshing. I picked myself up a banana tahini muffin. The appearance of it is very attractive. Unfortunately, its flavour profile, fell short for me. I was expecting a stronger Tahini flavour. I would most definitely return again to try some of their other menu options. I remember when I had gone it was nearly their end of day.

The whole experience was really amazing, from the greeting to the cooking to the eventual eating of the finished meal. I was back and forth with the owner, Dan, who was very accommodating and willing to work with a larger number of people than originally planned. The place is a really charming and kitschy small catering space which looks like it could be your friend's apartment. The set up was impressive. Although a smaller space. Dan worked well to change the space around to make room for different situations. For instance, when we came in, there was a buffet of goodies set up to snack on while we caught up and enjoyed some homemade granola and yogurt, as well as various spreads and homemade bread. Then, when we switched over to the demo and cooking class, there was a giant movable table we all stood around to get instructions and prepare food. Eventually, when we sat down for our meal of freshly made fare, Dan moved over two more tables to create a long communal table we could all sit at and enjoy our creations. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and Dan and his staff were also amazing. There are few places in the city which provide this kind of interactive cooking experience. I looked into it, trust me! I would highly recommend this place for any kind of small private event i.e. a birthday, a bachelor/ette party etc. I cannot wait to come back and simply eat here for Sunday brunch. Thank you to Jack and Lil's for making this such a memorable, and delicious, event for my friends and I.
