We came here so we can try a new spot in Santee. The food that we got was good. About an 8/10 for everything we ordered. The issue that I had was the girl who took our order did not have any friendly or inviting customer service skills. This was our first time there, we felt super rushed as she was talking really fast. She also didn't ask if we wanted any sauces for our burger or sandwich. The only reason we knew about sauces is because my husband asked once an employee served us our food. He asked for sauce and she said, "The person who took your order didn't ask you guys if you wanted sauce?" We informed her she didn't ask us anything. She told us the sauces they had and went and got us some.. I also thought it was pretty weird you have to get up and ask to have napkins from the back counter instead of them being on the tables. Overall cleanliness of the place was okay. Tables were cleared and wiped off after people left, but floors were ignored. read more

100% friendly, clean, fresh, quick, affordable and DELICIOUS. What more can I say? First visit to The Stand and it was amazing. A friend and I usually eat somewhere locally and we decided to give The Stand a try. The BEST seared ahi and Cobb salads. I ordered the ahi salad with the red ginger vinaigrette dressing because the spicy Thai was too hot for me. It was the perfect combination. Sometimes you really have to compliment an establishment for their ability to provide quality food and service. This place gets 6 stars if it were possible. I was greeted after our meal by Roy (maybe Ray?) who asked how we enjoyed our food. To have one of the staff members inquire about our meals was the cherry on top. We went there this past Wednesday and I was excited to try a new place. I told them I had Celiac Disease and so does my eldest daughter. I had the onion stax burger and my daughter the jalapeño burger. We told them gluten free bun and celiac allergy. Our food had crispy onions vs grilled. I asked for medium well and mine was fairly raw. All ofood was luke warm at best and not hot at all. I was not impressed at all. After we told them about crispy onions in food they apologized and the made which was nice. But the damage was already done and we had been glutened. My daughter never finished her burger because she started to feel sick. I would strongly encourage them educate staff on allergies and what the items contain. The Stand in Santee is a great spot! The service is always friendly and fast, and the place is super clean and comfortable. Portions are generous, and everything I've tried has been really fresh and full of flavor. Our favorites are the Ahi sandwich, chimichurri steak salad sometimes we sub out the steak for chicken, the sweet potato fries, with the jalapeño aïoli. They also have an awesome beer selection -- something for everyone -- and the frozen Paloma is absolutely delicious (highly recommend trying it!). Overall, it's one of those places that hits all the marks: great food, great drinks, and great service. Definitely worth checking out! The staff is also great! The Stand is a great casual spot if you're looking for good food and a relaxed atmosphere. It's a walk-up, order first, then grab a seat kind of place, which makes it easy and laid back. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside, so it's great whether you're coming with a small group or a bigger crowd. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, and they have tons of food and drink options to choose from. Everything we've tried has been delicious... the salads, burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes are all really good. Everyone I've brought here has enjoyed their meal, which says a lot. I have been here multiple times in multiple different locations, and I have never had any complaints. The service here is 10/10 and unmatched. Came here for a quick bite and was honestly impressed. The burgers were fresh, juicy, and cooked perfectly, and the fries were hot and crispy. You can tell they actually care about quality instead of just rushing food out. the ultimate egg burger was good when I first tried it, but when I came back to eat here, it was cold. The cheese barely melted. the egg was good though. the sweet potato fries were ok, but a bit cold and soggy (I'm noticing a trend here). the service was probably the only reliable thing about this place. the servers are nice and attentive and ask how you are doing even while you're eating. it seems though that managers slack off or something, because everytime I've placed an order to go, it seems like it takes longer than if I were to just eat it there. it seems like they don't have the flow of the place figured out yet. the ambience is pretty good and standard. nothing too special about it. it's nice there is a outside place to eat. read more

Absolutely love coming to The Stand! The food is always amazing, the restaurant is consistently clean, and the atmosphere is perfect for families. I bring my daughter here all the time and we always have such a great experience. A special thank you to Charles for his great customer service! He's always so welcoming and attentive. After hearing many recommendations, we decided to enjoy some take out for our Father's Day dinner. The first red flag was a watery bland tasteless shake followed by this sorry excuse of a kids chicken "tender" meal. $7.49 for 2 overcooked nuggets and a quarter of a browned apple, RIDICULOUS. Not to mention the browned avocado on my wife's salad as well. People have no integrity or pride for what they do anymore. I get it the food industry sucks to work in but if you don't like it that much get a different job nerd. Jacie is an incredible manager here at the stand, she was extremely helpful, and helping me decide what tastes the best based on other peoples opinions. I'm very picky with my beer choices but she was extremely knowledgeable, and attentive. She poured the glasses all the way to the top, kept a conversation going and made everybting go so smooth.
