Take a look at the pictures of the finished result--you can barely tell there was ever a drywall patch there. What impressed me just as much as the finished product was the amount of care they put into preparing the area. They covered everything nearby with plastic to keep dust and debris contained, and once the job was finished, they took the time to wipe everything down and leave the space clean. While the drywall texture was drying, they even went to the hardware store to have the paint professionally matched so the repair would blend in as seamlessly as possible. I really can't say enough good things about Gold Hands. They're professional, do excellent work, pay attention to the details, and are genuinely great to work with. We went to Expert Flooring Solutions and showed them one of the planks that we were tearing to match. Ron helped us and we scheduled an appointment for him to come out the next day. When Ron arrived he brought a new sample that we had not seen the day before. He had continued to look for a close match after we left. When he laid the new sample down on our existing floor we were thrilled to see how close it came to matching, We tried it in different rooms and it was the best we could have hoped for. No one, other than us, will ever notice the difference. When Ron sent us the cost, it was $2,000 less than another company had quoted us. We were very surprised. He also included a veteran discount, and we did not have to pay anything up front, We paid when the job was done and we were satisfied. The price included taking out the old carpet and hauling it, and moving the furniture from the rooms where the new flooring went. The crew that showed up on the appointed date and right on time. They were very courteous and professional. They did two rooms in one day and the third room was finished by 11 a.m. on the second day. Everything looks great. That's not why you should hire Mike & Mike...well not the only reason, because their work is top notch. The biggest reason you should hire them (and I absolutely acknowledge I'm an old man yelling "get off my lawn!" here) is "honesty and integrity." These guys come from the old school of standing by your work and letting it speak for itself. My wife really wanted a fridge with an ice maker but the house we moved into didn't have a water line for that. I was trying to get an idea of what it would cost to have one installed so we could decide whether it was within our budget so we could pick a fridge and move forward with our lives. You would seriously not believe how hard that was. I made it abundantly clear to everyone I talked to that I knew they couldn't give me a binding estimate without actually seeing the project, and I begged for just a guess at a range...would this be somewhere between $200 - $2,000, am I looking at more like $10,000? Am I going to need another mortgage for this? I talked to probably 20 different handymen. 19 of them pretended they had no idea what it might cost and wouldn't even give a ballpark or a range without sending someone into my home so they could use their high-pressure sales tactics to make sure they got my business. They had either never done a job like this before, in which case I didn't want them, or they were lying to me, in which case I also didn't want them. Mike and Mike were the exact opposite. I asked what they expected it would cost, and they made their best guess and gave me a range of the top and bottom end based on really hard or really easy jobs. They were super flexible and easy to work with, and when the job was done they came in at the very bottom end of what they had estimated. They were on time, quick, super respectful, and my wife is smiling ear-to-ear. So yeah, there's plenty of handymen you could hire who will probably do a great job. Silver Knights Floor Restoration - Bayron and his team - are AMAZING!…read more We purchased a rental property with "good bones" and almost none of the customary upkeep one would expect. The entire home (1900 square feet), except for the primary bathroom, has ceramic tile floors. And this tile looked BAD! Dirt embedded in the textured surfaces, grout that had maybe never been sealed. I've never had floor restoration work done, and didn't know what to expect, price-wise or results-wise. Bayron came for the consultation, measured everything, and explained how they do what they do. I was at first taken aback at the $ amount of the bid, but let me tell you...IT IS WORTH IT!!! And yes, they worked with me to make it a bit more comfortable for me financially. Bayron promised during the consultation that they would make the floors look "90% - 99% like new." Many businesses make empty or inflated promises but NOT Silver Knights - these tile floors look like they were just installed! I was blown away by the quality of the work, and the fact that the crew went over EVERY SQUARE INCH of the nasty old grout and made it a new, pleasing, CLEAN, sealed color. There was one issue that occurred when the crew was trying to remove old paint stains from the wall edges of some of the tile, and Bayron promised to make good on it. He came a couple of days later and did the work himself to make it right. I've got one "before" and a few "after" pictures I"ll share...but they don't really show the stark differences all that well. Suffice to say, I'd recommend Silver Knights Floor Restoration for any job you've got. They will give it to you straight on the estimate, and make good on whatever they promise. Bravo!
