We also purchased star + cross cement tiles, which are complicated to install compared to square or rectangle tile. Romano was the only tile person we could find that was not a flake. We had been trying to hire someone for weeks, but all of them would cancel, or not even text back the day they were supposed to come, or we would hear horror stories of how they would start the job and leave midway, or they would give ridiculous quotes, etc. The deadline was fast approaching and we had no tile. What I really appreciated about Roman was his timely communications, showing up when he promised, and the quality and care in executing our vision. To illustrate this, I made a mistake and didn't order enough trim tile and the new order was going to take 5-10 business days. The only good thing I can say is he is extremely punctual. I needed my kitchen backsplash done in a herringbone pattern. After completing 1/3 of the backsplash I noticed he had the tiles going in the wrong direction and had to have them removed. That took a whole day. After educating ourselves on how to install herringbone tile, we realized he had done the pattern wrong the second time too. This time we had to let him go and it cost us $400 to order the new tile he had ruined. So just beware if you need herringbone style - he does not know how to install. It is also uncomforting to see your tile installer watching videos on how to install while at your home. Furthermore, I cannot believe the reply below. I am not here to argue. We have every right to be upset. It cost us $800 to order new tile and to pay him for his time. Apparently he is ungrateful for being compensated. All the videos I sent to him were to show him how herringbone is suppose to be installed (which includes spacers) Maybe he should take the instruction in to consideration and stop blaming the customer. read more

We had our kitchen counter top, sink, faucet, new microwave, back splash and entire first floor tiling done in two weeks! Romano and his team were punctual. They cleaned up after themselves daily. It is a dusty job so be prepared. The first floor is close to 1000 sq ft. I was worried that the tiles will not be leveled but I was wrong. The tiles came better than expected. I LOVE IT! My wife and I have had Roman from Romano's Tile and Marble install a tile entryway, tile kitchen floor and backsplash. All these projects were done at different times in a span of about four months. All three projects were done to perfection and at a very fair price. Roman and his staff were punctual and paid attention to detail in every regard. Roman stated what would be done and how long and was on point with everything. We could not be more pleased with the finished project. But here is what sets Roman Tile and Marble apart from others. After the completion of the backsplash, we decided to do the kitchen cabinets over. Shame on us for not doing it the other way around. Regardless, after the cabinet contractor started, there were a few areas where the backsplash had to be removed and replaced. This needed to be done before continuing on with the kitchen project. I called Roman and explained the situation and the timeline and without hesitation stated he could come the next day. Perfect! Until the cabinet contractor stated Roman couldn't come till the end of the day. What stress. A quick call to Roman and he stated that it was ok and came later in the evening and did not disappoint. He removed ten pieces of backsplash and replaced with new pieces and didn't leave till he was finished. The new kitchen cabinets look awesome and the tile work looks even better with the them. Romans work and time and understanding of the whole situation was magnificent.
