Delicious chicken tenders. Get the extra sauce. I'm partial to buffalo and ranch, but there are other choices, too. I also had water and a dessert bar. I will dream about the dessert bar. A very pleasant surprise. We have been coming up for decades and somehow have missed this place. Was looking for a quick sandwich to split. We ordered at the window and stopped in next door, at the brewpub. Great beer and great atmosphere. Then our buzzer went off. We split a Thai Rueben which was a new take but just as delicious. So was the Greek pasta salad and spicy pickle. Perfect! read more

Get more than one pizza oven. No one in the civilized world waits 1 .5 hours for a pizza and a salad. Why???? Not like the pizza is the best in the area. Like going to Lake Ann Brewing just hate waiting to get something to eat. Not as good as previous years, but it's the best place in Lake Ann, so who really cares? Forever obsessed with the lamb gyro + fries. The BLT sub and the chicken tenders are always strong contenders for my heart, too. Loooove their ranch. The specials on their Facebook are always suuuuuper good, too. They had beef brisket back in February and I'm still thinking about it. Pro tip: always double check your food when ordering take out. They tend to forget meals on accident. We are always getting Stone Oven, and overall their food is great! It can be quite a wait during the weekend and busy afternoon hours; Lake Ann Brewery is right next door and there is often entertainment that draws the whole neighborhood in at times. Excellent pizza! We ordered a mediterranean and a pepperoni and cheese one. Plentiful toppings and they had a good flavor. The caesar salad was pretty good too! It did take a GOOD 45m for our food to come out if I had any complaint. We ordered our pizza and went next door to Lake Ann Brewery listen to some music and have a beer or two. Your buzzer goes off when your good is ready to be picked up. I'm not sure if it works the same pre COVID. They are probably deserving of a 4.5 but I rounded up! read more

First I want to say this is review of my 1/6/24 visit only. I have had The Stone Oven Pizza before and that is awesome. But this particular visit, my husband and I drove from Traverse City to The Stone Oven and ordered their nachos. This was the most disappointing plate of chips with lettuce and tomatoes on it. It was a layered pile of plain chips, and the very top had little to no seasoned meat and cheese on it and there was nothing under that but plain chips. I walked from the brewery to The Stone Oven to advise of my disappointment and asked if I could at least get more cheese, to be sold a cold soupy cheese sauce for an extra $2.56. When I told the lady I was disappointed and that there was absolutely nothing on the bottom chips and barely anything but lettuce and tomatoes, she advise this is how they make it all the time. Layered chips with stuff only on the top. DO NOT ORDER THESE. $14.95 for lettuce, tomatoes and chips, and then $2.56 for whatever that cheese stuff was she gave me. I felt like I was being shaken off and did not feel like a valued customer. At first I was going to give this two stars, but after writing it, I remembered how upset I was at my order. read more

Just happened to be passing through and stopped for lunch. Very glad we did. The dining room is small - maybe 6 tables. The menu runs from salads to wraps to burgers. Service was excellent. We were waited on immediately and the food came quickly. I had the French dip and my friend a turkey wrap. Both were delicious. This is a small town gem. If ever in the area, I will eat here again. In the age of COVID restrictions here in MI, we did not eat in the restaurant but rather got take-away and took our food next door to Lake Ann Brewing. Three of us got soup and the special (crab cakes, salad, and macaroni and cheese) and one got pizza. All were very happy with our choices, were satiated by the end of the meal, and still had leftovers to take home to enjoy later in the week. Super friendly service at the restaurant, food was packaged well, and this was a great synergy with the brewery. We will be back again! read more

Stopped in for lunch today and it was great, remodeled since we were last there. GF pizza was really good. The crust was baked so it was crispy on bottom. Cheese and sauce were great. For the second time in two months I have been very disappointed with my experience with The Stone Oven in Lake Ann, MI. When ordering the customer is warned that an order can take 90 minutes or more, and they weren't kidding! Considering that the food is pretty much standard quick fare (chicken tenders, burgers, quesadillas and the like), I shouldn't think it would take so long to prepare simple sandwiches and fries. But what I really objected to was seeing similar orders placed well after mine coming out within 30 minutes while I waited and waited for my beeper to light up. When I inquired why this was and how much longer my order would take, nobody was really sure, but I was told that some orders can be fitted in "quicker". I felt the staff was rude and dismissive both times and I don't plan to waste my time or money there again. read more

Jacob and I scoured Yelp reviews before eating any meal in Traverse City. We wanted to try the best stuff, whether it's the touristy places or the local's best kept secret. We thought we hit gold when we found this place but unfortunately our experience was pretty lame. They're open until 9. We got in around 8:20, thinking we'd have plenty of time to order and eat before they close up shop. We were basically starving at this point and didn't feel like waiting for a pizza to bake, so each of us ordered a sandwich. The server was personable and took our order quickly. Then we waited. And waited. Waited some more. Asked the waitress where our food was. Then they locked the door because it was 9 o'clock, but they still had a list of orders to work on (ours, and for the brewery next door and other carry-outs). If the server had told us it'd be over an hour before we'd get our food because the kitchen was so behind, we'd have just left and hit up another place and try them again another day. Instead, we awkwardly sat around watching all these orders go out the door, wondering when it might be our turn. Our food finally arrived around 9:30. I ordered my sandwich plain, but unfortunately it came with lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. I *hate* mayo, but there's no way I could wait any longer to eat, so I asked for a few napkins and wiped it off the best I could. Jacob's sandwich was good. Neither were "OMG best sandwich ever, totally worth the wait!". The server apologized for the delay and offered to comp my sandwich, which was very nice of her. But still, seeing a restaurant so ill-prepared for a dinner rush is a huge turn-off. This isn't a place I'd return to. read more

This place is a hidden gem. These guys are keeping the menu relatively short and making high quality food not found in a typical small town. It's a page right out of the Gordon Ramsey playbook. I've eaten here many times while in the area to visit my dad and everything has been fresh and hot. The servers are friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable.
