I sought out a third employee to help me with grabbing a pair of shoes from the back. Her tone and body language made it seem as though she was above helping customers and was frustrated that I asked her for help. Her tone was extremely short and snappy when I asked for a two different sizes to try on. Needless to say I didn't buy the shoes after she handed me the item to try on and walked away.

Don't waste your time and money. Very disappointed in the quality of service and installation from Kayak City. The guys that work there are nice, but they don't know what they are doing and are creating safety hazards for their customers. We bought 2 high end kayaks, motors, fish finders, lithium ion battery, a Yakima trailer, and all the accessories. We spent over $25k We were expecting to have them put some time into their work. First they offered to install the batteries on each kayak for another $1,000 for each kayak . Don't pay for this, it's 2 wires and you can do this yourself, like we did. This will probably take you 1 hour to install and waterproof silicone seal. Most items are plug and play now, don't waste your money for a crappy installation job. Glad we didn't pay for this and did it at home. considering the shoddy work they performed on everything else this would have probably turned into a fire hazard out on the water. We realize now, the Yakima Big Catch saddles they sold us (2 sets) and they are rated for 150 lbs, the kayaks they sold us are 155 lbs dry (without 2 batteries, fish finder, fishing tackle and gear). They sold us these knowing they were overrated for the saddles. The trailer they sold us is great (Yakima lowrider), but they didn't install the tires and rims or tighten down all the bolts (crossbars) correctly and we had to drive 2+ hours there and back (5 extra hours) to get it repaired. The lug nuts were not tight and entirely damaged the rim on day one. We were lucky we didn't lose a tire on the 2+ hour on the drive home. This is a safety hazard, you need to check their work, because they don't. If you can buy your kayak and gear elsewhere you should. Spend your money where you're appreciated and where you won't get into an accident or unexpected emergency. I haven't been this disappointed in service in a very long time. This place needs to take their work seriously. Just because you're the only place in town, doesn't mean you should take advantage of your customers. If I could go back in time I would have purchased my kayaks anywhere else but here.

Everything was going great... until I went to the Big 5 store on Elkhorn Blvd. At first, the saleswoman was polite, but after she called the manager to handle the return of a defective inflatable mattress, the situation changed completely. The manager was extremely rude and disrespectful -- he kept snorting, interrupting, speaking in an irritated tone, and showing open aggression. I couldn't argue or raise my voice -- my English isn't strong enough for that, which can easily be confirmed by the store's security cameras. So I calmly and respectfully called my daughter to help explain the situation over the phone. The manager spoke to her rudely and irritably, getting upset when she referred to the official Big 5 website, where the return policy is clearly stated differently from what he claimed. He even tried to intimidate me by threatening to call the police, as if the police were some kind of punishment force that would come and "throw me out of the store." I never raised my voice, never acted rude or aggressive -- I was simply trying to return a defective item, staying calm and respectful the entire time. In the end, the manager grabbed the box with the mattress, carried it outside, and ordered me to leave the store. I was completely shocked by this treatment. I never expected that a well-known retail chain like Big 5 could allow such behavior toward a customer. I sincerely hope that the company's management reviews the security footage, investigates this incident, and ensures that such behavior never happens again.
