The person on the phone was polite and articulate to answer what I needed. The person even remembered me when I came in the store. Very rare to get this type of service. I am assuming the bad reviews are people who were educated and felt horrified about their lack of knowledge. Gun culture is an educated culture, be prepared to learn or abide by the safety standards and rules that adhere to them. Inside the store was clean and spacious areas. The department I needed was the firearms section, which was at the far end of the shop. That being said they have a wide collection of what I say good ammo that you can rely on for self-defense. What I can also say is that they do not gouge you on prices. The prices are well within reason, and they are updated ammunition. By updated I mean that they have different casings for those who know that grains and bullet type matter. That being said, getting plinking ammunition is a good to go here. You can trust the brands they have in stock and the staff for the firearms department is knowledgeable and friendly. Keep in mind the long wait is due to either education, or the long lengthy checks to get said items. That being said, pay your taxes, pay your registration fees, do your due diligence and you're out and about easy. I may bring in my gun to get checked by their smith. But TBH American Made Baretta 9mm FS is the far superior choice than the mass produced m9 and Italian made one. I don't think I need a service on my weapon in quite some time. Do your research, some things made in America, is better and not well advertised. This goes for the ammunition as well. To the dude who helped me. Thank you, man. Thank you for your service as well. Representing Americans to the finest quality one can hope for. Thank you.

Back in the day, if I was looking for a decent sporting goods store, I always ventured to "Big 5",…read more"The Sports Authority", and even "Walmart". Jump forward to the present day and "DICK'S Sporting Goods" takes the crown for the biggest and most complete selection of anything sports-related. This is a nationwide company that has been in operation since 1948 and since then (as of 2026), they have over 700 stores that are currently operating. The location I am focusing on is at the Stanford Crossing shopping center in Roseville, CA. Located directly off of Stanford Ranch Rd and tucked in between Fairway Dr and Five Star Blvd, this location has been around since mid-2017. What makes this idea is the close proximity to other major retailers as well as the very large parking lot. During the dozen or so times that I have been inside here, I have never had an issue finding a parking spot, even during peak holiday season and busy weekend days. Upon entering, you will notice that the store layout is massive. Soon, you will see how this place has just about everything you might need when it comes to sporting goods. The cash registers/customer service area and the lines for checkout are to the immediate right. Navigating around isn't too difficult as many of the aisles give you the feeling as if you are not bumping into anyone. I also wanted to add that there are two restrooms towards the very rear left part of the store. On any given day, there are dozens upon dozens of employees/staff everywhere; usually they are dressed in a green shirt with trousers and athletic shoes. To put things into perspective, they carry a huge assortment of gear pertaining to all types of sports; baseball, football, basketball, golf, hockey, lacrosse, pickleball, tennis, soccer, softball, volleyball, and much more. You will also find a nice variety of outdoor and camping travel essentials that include tents, sleeping bags, outerwear, and ski equipment. Additionally, their fitness/cardio selection is vast with a ton of treadmills, ellipticals, and everything to get your home gym going. I've purchased a mountain bike here that has been great so far. And let me tell you about their clothing line & shoes; here you will find a wide inventory of men's/women's/kids clothes apparel, sports jerseys, and all types of shoes. During my most recent visit, I needed a comfortable, long-lasting pair of reliable walking shoes. After narrowing down my selection, I finally settled with the Brooks "Glycerin 22" series that provided the support and comfort I was looking for. Also keep in mind for the deep discounts this place offers. These shoes were selling for $164.99 but there was an online Dick's Sporting Goods coupon that were selling these for $114.99. Even better, with every purchase over $100.00, I received a $20.00 of coupon which brought my total to $94.99 + tax. Not bad for a pair of quality walking shoes. All in all, "Dick's Sporting Goods" is a very good above average retailer with an absolutely large variety of options. The only negative thing I would say is that their customer service isn't top notch as the employees that worked in the shoe area weren't the most knowledgeable in answering my questions. Not a big deal since I heavily researched these shoes prior to coming here. I think it all depends on which employee works where. For instance, my bike purchase (back in 2020) was amazing but this experience was just average. Aside from minor things like that, I am still going to give the Roseville Dick's Sporting Goods a respectable four star rating.

I was brought two boxes of one shoe in each. She had disappeared and there was nowhere to be found so that I could ask for the other shoe. Found another sales person and was told that both of them had a display pair somewhere in the store. I don't know if she expected me to go and find it, but they were the exact same shoe with two different sizes and then they couldn't find the mate for one. And the one that we could find was dirty so I don't know if I was expected to buy a dirty shoe anyway. That's the impression I got when asked. Something about finding another shoe string. I got tired of waiting and decided to go somewhere else with better customer service. One thing, cashiers have been very competent during past visits.

The only bone to pick (that I can tell) would be that if you need help on the floor, you sometimes have to comb the place for it. They seem to have the things we need and when we need them. Customer service is friendly and helpful (thank you, Alex). Decent selection and prices seem competitive although I'll admit I haven't bothered to price match too much.

It was confirmed to be at the store. JUST LIKE THE GUN WAS. I receive multiple emails that the ammo was available to pick up. Went to the Rocklin store to pick up the ammo on 08/22/26. We signed in to the digital queue. But that didn't matter because they weren't even using it and just helping people that walked up to the counter. After FINALLY being asked to step up for assistance, I gave him my name, id, and order number. The gentleman then took my id to the back to "locate" the order. THAT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES. He then walked around the store for a few minutes, with my ID in hand. Finally he came back to the counter and said that the order was not in the back and did I mind if he pulled the Ammo order off the shelf. And I was perplexed ?? Why are you asking. ?? Just pull the order. Why wasn't the order pulled and ready LIKE THE EMAILS STATED IT WAS!!! He then COULDN'T LOCATE IT ON THE SHELF AND I HAD TO SHOW HIM THE AMMO AND WHERE IT IS . We did not see it. And he then went in the back AGAIN WITH MY ID IN HIS HANDS. I asked him for my ID back since I didn't want him to set it down some where as he tried to "locate my order". After several more minutes, he told me that he could not find it. At that point, I asked to cancel the order and to speak to the manager. The associate said he already notified the manager, who was also aware of the gun/ inventory issues I had previously. I STILL DEMANDED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER. A few more minutes went by when he decided to come out. The manager was extremely rude and you can tell my his attitude and he disheveled clothing that he did not and does not care. I stated my complaints again and noted that they were the ones who did not cancel the order and accepted it. He then proceeded to say that THEY NEVER GET THIS AMMO TYPE IN HIS STORE. And I said someone in his store approved/accepted the order. He claimed that he had no way of checking who accepted the order. And I simply said that was no excuse and this whole situation was handled extremely poorly. He then said " Well what do you want me to do". Sir, I want you and your store to get your shit together, AND DO YOUR JOBS so I am not wasting my time with people who clearly do not care when there is an issue that they caused. Managers who act like this when the issues are caused by them, their stores, and their employees have clearly lost the plot. And to continue on with his rude behavior, after looking dead at my husband and speaking to him, he then cuts my husband off mid sentence to say "I was talking to her". Sir, you are looking at my husband, and talking, he was thinking that the conversation had been directed to him. He then asked WHAT I WANTED TO DO ABOUT THE ORDER. Not only were you aware of the issues with the gun inventory , you did not take the time to verify if the remaining items on the order were in stock at YOUR FUCKING LOCATION??? You have the audacity to ask what I want to do with an order of Ammo that you just said your store never gets. Like I'm supposed to leave this order open with you all having my money and me not having any ammo. I asked that the order be cancelled and my money refunded. I received and email today from Sportsman Warehouse that my order was cancelled because it was ABANDONED. How the fuck can I abandon an order for an item that was NEVER THERE AND HAD NO INTENTION ON BEING THERE. Basic customer service is all I was asking. Nothing free or discounted. I wanted the items that I paid for and was confirmed to have been there. What a fucking shit show.

I only waited a few minutes and my number was called. It was pretty busy since it was a Saturday. The guy had to look for the rifle I wanted but I told them it was in stock since I had called earlier. He found it in the back and it was on sale. Great price. SO the paperwork is standard to purchase a firearm but each store takes their time so as not to make any mistakes. The process here was pretty fast compared to other dealers. I was happy. I will definitely be watching their sales to get some good deals on merchandise. Good service here.

The first lady I talked to and paid the FasC fee with, helped me with the whole process. And all of the staff that I encountered were very friendly and helpful, throughout every step; making everything as smooth as possible. As far as firearms, while waiting to complete the DROS, I noticed Turner's seemed to have a good selection of pistols and long guns.
