This small shop will never be a Bass Pro or a Sportsman's Warehouse, but that's the idea. The friendly owner is more than willing to discuss all aspects of gun ownership, so if you are a relative novice like I am, you don't feel intimidated. Like most everywhere else these days, his supply of ammo was running low, particularly the popular calibers like 9 mm. I've been thinking about getting a CCW permit and plan to include EWG in my search for a suitable compact handgun. I'm hoping that the recent change to the U.S. Supreme Court will provide an opportunity to fix some of the misguided nonsense with the 2A issues in California (e.g., magazine restrictions, micro-stamping requirements for new gun models) . . . and soon. read more

I had the most AMAZING experience working with Ed at EWG GUNS. Im more than happy that I stumbled upon EWG guns online while looking for an arms dealer to help me with the processes of repossessing my firearm from the DOJ. There were multiple delays from the state that prevented me from repossessing my gun that were out of our control, but yet throughout this long 9 month process, ed constantly updated me throughout the process and assured me he would do everything possible to make sure I was taken care of! Definitely not your usual I have the same guns every other store has. These guys have a crazy variety of antiques and newer guns. And on top of all that they actually know what they're selling. They'll give you a. Little history lesson with every gun they sell. Prices are negotiable and will always go back and purchase more from these guys. read more

Went in there to buy my first handgun. Ed was amazing and didn't make me feel like a noob when I told him my price range (under $400) and something I could handle as my first CC. They had plenty of guns that were all different and different prices to go along with them. I qwas familiar with SIG, S&W, Glock, Ruger, Colt etc. After talking with him about my needs and my extensive research on a good first CC firearm, he said "I am glad you have no preconceived ideas about handguns and aren't hung up on the name brands". That made me feel great. He then showed me a BERSA 380 Firestorm and said that this is a great first gun. So, I went home and did research and read and watched youtube video's. Finally, in early March, I pulled the trigger (pun intended) and bought the gun. I found the exact same gun at a BIG BOX store for $40 cheaper, but the wife and I love keeping it local and supporting the local businesses. Besides, with those big stores you take a number and wait your turn...you aren't a person, you are a sale. At EWG guns, you are a person first with questions and then a purchaser 2nd. Ed took his time and explained the laws of COMMIEfornia and the pros and cons of all guns. When I went to purchase the firearm, his wife Wendy was just as nice as Ed. I was in and out of the store in 30 mins. (and that was after all the paperwork). EWG has a customer for life.....or as long as I live in California. read more

I inherited 3 rifles of which I knew nothing about, as well knowing little about firearms in general. I was greeted at the door as I had a cumbersome load, every one in the shop was so friendly and helpful, totally blown away! Ed and his staff took a lot of their time to tell me the history and worth of each one. The older rifle was not operating smoothly but after tinkering with the release and oiling it they were able to make it work smoothly! Ed facilitated a private sale on the spot for that rifle. And they gave me some good options for the other 2 air rifles. I highly recommend EWG Gun store in Loomis the next time you are looking to purchase a gun of any sort. Came into look for my first rifle, so impressed with the owners passion and professionalism. Definitely coming back for something else.

I had been searching for over 2 years for specific Colt revolver, I saw a similar gun advertised by EWG when i called the store Ed was very nice on the phone and as it turned out he had the exact gun i had been serching for. He was kind enough to send detailed pics to my phone as I live in the Bay Area and its a few hours to drive to the store, Ed even said he would open the store on his off day to accommodate my schedule (not necessary) but who does that? I love this store it was smaller than i expected but the good thing is it does not have a bunch of knick knacks that i can buy on amazon just GUNS all kinds of guns from amazing relics, old and new military style weapons unusual and rare guns with provenance, hunting rifles and shotguns. The guys that were working the two times i went in the store had really good attitudes and were walking dictionaries. I really enjoyed going into the store it is worth a two hour drive.
