If you need services beyond mowing, make sure it is clear and and in writing exactly what is to be done and the total price. The actual work they do is quality but the poor communication and defensiveness can result in a project not done properly and pricing disputes.

I pointed out two already dead White Oak trees, both over 60 feet tall, a Bradford Pear tree in a field of bamboo, an Eastern Red Cedar that had been damaged by the blizzard of '22 and noted a couple of low-hanging branches on a Scotch Pine tree that was too close to the ground for the vehicles that parked under it. All of it was taken care of and when I asked for the chipped wood to be left on my property, they asked where I wanted it and left it as I asked. The woman I spoke with assured me that the job could be done anyway so I arranged through numerous phone calls to my bank and to Lawson's Tree Experts to have $600 wired to their account. I went out of my way (while in upstate New York) to accommodate Lawson Tree Experts. The main branch that I wanted taken out is still there! I have had two friends lose their back car window to this tree(one car was totaled), and I paid my $600 to insure that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Instead, I came home to discover that the job is unfinished but my money is gone, and now nobody will return my phone calls. I have record of each phone call I've made (nearly every other day since June 5th) and nobody at Lawson's Tree Experts office will returned my calls. I feel it's imperative to get this last limb removed before another car(or innocent unsuspecting person) gets hit by the limb that should have been removed. My phone number has been left each time, and Lawson's was quick to return my calls when they were expecting my money, but now that my money is in their hands, I get no response. One nursery I visited sent an estimator who ignored related landscaping requests and only gave an estimate on tree removal and cleanup ($1,300). They never provided the additional estimates requested and made excuses. Garcia's sent someone out within a couple of days of making contact. They said the removal cost would be $700, but offered a discount because it was early in the season ($550). I accepted the offer. I didn't hear back about scheduling the removal for a couple of weeks (they said because of rain delays they said). Soon after, the work was completed. No mess or scraps were left behind and they didn't even ask for payment until checking on my satisfaction. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. Very professional and responsive.
