Still don't understand what this place is? Reception hall? Rumor there is a bar-bar but that part not open when they have a band. The reception area is very thin on bourbon and craft beers which is what they promote. Service thin too but gave good effort. Food good just not many choices. Bands sound good, good dance floor. Just an odd place - felt like I crashed a wedding reception!

This is such a wonderful addition to Muskego. They make vegan friendly food, and the cooks are very aware of vegan food and how to make food to fit your needs. The inside looks beautiful, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and provided me a great first ever glass of Bourbon.

We took a chance and tried a new place for a fish fry and were very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door by who I can only assume was the owner with a genuine smile and it made you feel very welcome. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 beers that we hadn't had before and loved them! A peach Hefeweizen and a Kentucky bourbon ale. Delish! If you are into bourbons they have a huge selection. Also the craft beer selection was great. We ordered the fish frys. One breaded and one beer battered. We both actually preferred the beer battered which is different for us. Both were great. The only critique I can offer was the coleslaw was boring. No flavor at all. Service was great although they were slow due to Muskegos first football game. We will be back!

YUMMIE! This was our first visit to The Suburban Bourbon. I can't wait to return and try some other dishes. The Cosmo's were made to perfection. We ordered the beer battered Fish Fry with fries. The fish wasn't over battered. I enjoy my fish with malt vinegar and luckily they had it. So delicious! Additionally, it was a delightful surprise that we didn't have an hour wait for a table on a Friday night for a Fish Fry. We were seated immediately. Our server, Richard was most accommodating. His description of other menu items has us anxious to return! Fish Fry Lovers - Add this place to your list.

Nice atmosphere and a great selection of bourbon & gin. Pete, the bartender, is very personable and seemed happy to answer our many questions. Will absolutely visit again. We only did the Buffalo Shrimp app, but it was delicious! Can't comment any further on the food.

The menu is definitely "bar food", but as far as we could tell, it's bar food done right. We all ordered wings, and everyone thought they were delicious. We did the Spicy Garlic and Tennessee Glaze sauces, and both were excellent. The wings were big and flavorful. I really wish we could have tried more sauces, but you are able to choose one per order. They had a really nice selection of different sauces to choose from, though, and all the orders of wings came with plenty of (free) ranch and blue cheese for dipping. The drinks were inexpensive (especially compared to downtown Milwaukee), and they had a decent craft beer selection. The specialty cocktails (holiday/winter themed) were a fun option, and our group enjoyed them. They also had live music going (with no cover charge!) and we enjoyed the sounds of Rock Solid, a very rock-solid cover band, which we were all really impressed with. AJ's was a fun place to hang out, which was well-demonstrated by being packed by locals on a busy Saturday evening. The atmosphere is fun, the food is good, and the drinks are good and cheap.

And they were right about that. Its essentially a older home that was converted to a restaurant many years ago. Inside there is a large bar, a dining area (mostly tables for 6), and an outside patio area. The place looks a bit in disrepair (the front porch does not give a great impression), and could really use some TLC. Outside in the back is a volleyball court, kids playground, and a bar. Came on a Saturday night, around 7pm. There were a handful of people around the bar, and a couple of small groups of diners. Got seated right away. Server got to us right away, but then the service for the rest of the evening was excruciating slow (and inattentive). We ordered a Sangria and Beer. Apparently the sangria is not on the menu, but they did a good job of making one up. We got served in plastic cups, but saw that others were drinking out of glass (should we have had to ask?). Ordered the Brisket Sandwich and the Pub Burger. Both came out relatively quickly (although they were waiting a while for the server to bring them to us). Both sandwichs were very good. The burger was flavorful, and hot. The sidewinder fries were also hot and well seasoned. The brisket sandwich was excellent. Couple of slabs of moist brisket, with a nice fat cap. The sweet potato fries were ok, but over seasoned. After we got our food, our server was MIA. Never came back to ask how things were, and we had to flag them down to get our check. (they were chatting it up with some other employees near the kitchen). In short, the food was very good. But the atmosphere and the server have a lot to be desired. This one did not make my "got to come back to" list.

Mine were so small and out of a dozen, only two drumettes. Afterwards, I saw a number of wings which by far surpassed my order, again. Recognizing this and giving a fair order of wings would have kept this customer coming back. Besides waited 20 minutes for a drink. We arrived before 5:00 and missed happy hour as a result. That did not upset me as I could see the first bartender was really busy. Last note, there was a bug crawling on my husband's shoulder a couple times which I thought could be a cockroach. I googled it and pretty sure that's what I saw after swatting it off my husband's shoulder and second time stomped on it. I even searched bugs that look like cockroaches and unfortunately none of those matched what I saw. Should have lefts and canceled my order right then and there.

The place was not very full on the second day open for lunch but a guy was having a burger and frys on the end of the bar that looked good. The bar tender was very friendly and gave me my beer and menu, the menu is standard bar food. The place is your classic Wi bar, not a complete dive but not fancy. The bar is on the left as you walk in and the room to the right has hi tables, pool table is in the back. The menu was reasonable for wings at 8 for $7.50 with a dipping sauce which was perfect because that's enough for me. My to go wings looked and smelled good but that's all that was in the bag, no napkins or dipping sauce WTF because wings and dipping sauce is the whole point of wings. My hot buffalo wings were good with a nice heat and moist but not fresh wings, I didn't expect that after being closed for two months. I was really disappointed that I had no blue cheese dipping sauce for my wings because that's my favorite.

During nice weather you can grab a seat outside and look over the water. They even provide pontoon rides during the warmer months (great way to enjoy a drink while you wait for your table). In the last several years they have gone through some significant renovations, especially with the outside seating areas. There is the restaurant on the first floor, and an event space on the second floor. Made 6:30 reservations for Wednesday for 4, and got right in. Had a table by the large windows that look for the patio and lake. Very pretty spot. Got greeted immediately by our server, who did a great job the entire evening. (thanks Laura). Got us water, took our drink order, along with an order for Onion Rings. The onion rings didn't take long, and they were excellent. Crispy with an interesting texture, hot, and served with a side of ranch (could have used more of that). The drinks were good, with the exception of one glass of a beer flight which was super flat, and was happily replaced by the server. For entrees we got: BLT, Blacked Fish Tacos (with extra bacon), Pesto Encrusted Salmon, and Salmon Power Salad. A note about the Pesto "Encrusted" Salmon. It's not really "encrusted", more like a scoop of pesto placed on top of the Salmon, and they finished under a broiler? Good but not what was expected. Didn't take that long for the food to arrive. It was all very good. The tacos were fresh, great flavor and hot. The fries that came with it, were NOT as not as I would like. Both grilled salmon entrees were also very good. The Power Bowl was excellent, with lots of fresh greens and other yummy add ins (goat cheese, blueberries, etc) A very good evening, with the exception of a couple of small hiccups.
