We were excited to try this new restaurant. Heard great things. The giant nostalgic bar takes over most of the first room when you walk in. Very historic building and plenty of seating space. Bathroom configuration was a little odd. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the prime rib, and it was absolutely wonderful. A little pricey, but with the economy the way it is, it's understandable.

Ask the Community - Ricky's Double Barrel

    Do they take Reservations?

Our waitress at a weekday lunch told us they take reservations every day except Fridays.

Is this place new? Because there was only 4 photos

This is the former Wegners St. Martins Inn. It is a very old building that has been updated by new owners.

Looking for a neighborhood dive with elevated bar food? Look no further. The service is good…read more The staff is friendly and drink prices are reasonable. The establishment is cleaner than most of the shot and a beer joints around Milwaukee. But let's talk food. The owner takes great pride in serving quality food at reasonable prices. The fried mushrooms, coated in panko and fried to perfection, are undoubtedly the best I have had. The mushroom size used, medium, allows the mushroom to maintain fresh elements in a crunchy shell, that avoids the normal lava spew when biting into most freshly cooked 'shrooms. Their wings are large, juicy and crunchy and a good selection of sauces are offered. The 1/2 pound fresh beef burgers rival any premium burger joint and the $4.00 Thursday BYO burger special (toppings extra) can't be beat. Heck, even their grilled cheese, I add tomato, is satisfying. Looking for a Sunday breakfast spot? Try a pizza omelette or one of chef CC's eggs Benedict's. Sorry, no valet parking or maître d' just a social spot with great food.

In the past few months, the wings aren't available on the day they are on special because they are being shopped for that day. The sauces aren't always available on wing day either. There's so much inconsistency lately that we rarely frequent anymore and we were there for sure twice a week. It's hit or miss there lately. .

I came here with my wife, daughter, mom, dad, & in-laws for a nice Saturday dinner on a warm May…read moredinner. Luckily the patio was open & it was great weather plus we had a 2 month old with us so could make it easier to step out. Prices are a little steep for an area like Franklin/Greendale. Probably a "nice occasion" dinner than a once a week dinner. Anything with some sort of protein is at minimum $21. I got the Fried Perch Dinner. My dad got the Prime Rib. My wife got the Tenderloin Sandwich. The Prime Rib was massive, not awfully fatty but I wouldn't pay $45 for it but that is also bc I am frugal. However, if it was a special occasion then I'd splurge for it. Dinners come with a salad or soup, bread, potato, & zucchini & squash. This is alone why I didn't get one of the salads & instead got the fried perch. This was definitely 5* to me. Cooked great, great portions, & I love zucchini. I just think the cost on the whole menu is where I dock the point. If you're okay with $26 to $30 on a dinner then this is an A+ spot with high class decor & interior. Heck, even the kid's grilled cheese looked SUPERB!!! They use the bread in the picture & we joked that we wouldn't mind ordering that when we saw a family order two of them.

When I saw the location, I thought what a idilic setting to enjoy a Friday fish fry. On this particular Friday, we elected to sat outside and maybe should have known something was up when the hostess called us brave. Seemed weird but the patio was bustling with people all appearing to be having a good time. All I'll say is the website incredibly oversells the condition and setting of the patio. Online, everything looks well manicured and on point. In reality, their patio area is a mess. Weeds, both dead and alive are a plenty. Besides a few small hanging baskets, not many actual flowers brighten the patio space. Even the planters that were displayed highlight dead flowers. Oh what this space could be with a bit more attention. With regard to food, I ordered the perch fry. The pieces were so ginormous I mistook them for cod. I was assured it was perch. The breading was delicious and the fish flavor. The fries, sprinkled with Parmesan are ok. If I come back I may stick to the inside dining room since its decor outshines the outdoor space.

During nice weather you can grab a seat outside and look over the water. They even provide pontoon rides during the warmer months (great way to enjoy a drink while you wait for your table). In the last several years they have gone through some significant renovations, especially with the outside seating areas. There is the restaurant on the first floor, and an event space on the second floor. Made 6:30 reservations for Wednesday for 4, and got right in. Had a table by the large windows that look for the patio and lake. Very pretty spot. Got greeted immediately by our server, who did a great job the entire evening. (thanks Laura). Got us water, took our drink order, along with an order for Onion Rings. The onion rings didn't take long, and they were excellent. Crispy with an interesting texture, hot, and served with a side of ranch (could have used more of that). The drinks were good, with the exception of one glass of a beer flight which was super flat, and was happily replaced by the server. For entrees we got: BLT, Blacked Fish Tacos (with extra bacon), Pesto Encrusted Salmon, and Salmon Power Salad. A note about the Pesto "Encrusted" Salmon. It's not really "encrusted", more like a scoop of pesto placed on top of the Salmon, and they finished under a broiler? Good but not what was expected. Didn't take that long for the food to arrive. It was all very good. The tacos were fresh, great flavor and hot. The fries that came with it, were NOT as not as I would like. Both grilled salmon entrees were also very good. The Power Bowl was excellent, with lots of fresh greens and other yummy add ins (goat cheese, blueberries, etc) A very good evening, with the exception of a couple of small hiccups.
