five stars for the ambiance--a super cute boathouse restaurant on the water, perfect for a sunny day. The staff are very attentive, and I love that they offer a regular lunch menu during weekend brunch. Unfortunately, the food was quite bland. I have to admit that the calamari was the worst I've ever had; it lacked flavor and had a rubbery texture that didn't resemble squid at all. The main course fish was perfectly cooked, but it, too, was completely devoid of flavor.

We were trying to find this restaurant and was crossing the bridge over the canal when we stopped to ask for recommendations for a restaurant, and this lady was belauding The Summerhouse. The view, the food... And so we found our way to the restaurant. We couldn't get a table next to the canal even though it was 5 pm. It was all reserved. We sat close enough. It's a small restaurant with an excellent vibe to it. There is a variety of food options on the menu. We had the Scallops and Seafood Platter. The scallops were fresh in a really nice sauce. The seafood platter has 2 types of shrimp and calamari and fish pieces. It's a bit of a surprise that the shrimp veins were not removed! It gave the shrimp a fishy taste. Other than that, the food is good, the service staff friendly and the ambience is great.

I love this place. Each time I come to London this is a regular stop. It's in the Little Venice area and beautiful. The staff are always attentive and knowledgeable and the chef makes incredible food. You're right on the water and the scene is great. Make The Summer House your fa

Fish was cooked to perfection...we had scallop appetizer, halibut special in lemon butter crayfish sauce and fish and chips. Everything was delicious. And the Summerhouse is a really pretty setting!!

Had a pretty good meal here. Nice seafood options. Somewhat expensive. Pleasant canal-side location. Decent service. Worth a go.

One eventually came to our table after sitting awhile. I of course had to try the fish n chips. A couple of veggie burgers were ordered and a regular burger. Surprisingly happy hour was still on at 8 o'clock so drinks were ordered. The food all came at the same time and everything was cool. The fish had a nice flavor from the fried batter. To me it was similar to Long John Silvers as far as the batter is concerned, but slightly better quality overall. The fries were standard. The only thing horrible was the very bland mashed green peas. They should be omitted from every pub across the country, but I think it is a traditional item included with the fish. The cocktails were good as well as the price. The sticky toffee pudding was something else I was advised to try while in London. I must admit it was really delicious. It came with a scoop of ginger ice cream and a warm buttery toffee sauce to pour over. It was delightfully warm and sweet and paired well with the ice cream. The cake itself was moist enough on its own with notes of brown sugar and molasses. I could have had seconds and thirds of this desert. Yum! The majority of my party didn't think the food was fantastic. The burgers happened to be somewhat alright. This was a first for me having pub food and I would have more again as long as I stick to the basics.

Ordered two burgers - some of the best I've ever had. Beer was good. Definitely a great stop in London. Neat location. I highly recommend this place!

We specifically came to try fish and chips, so we were lucky that The Mall Tavern was nearby. Each of us ordered fish and chips, and all of our plates were left nearly empty. My goodness, I have never had better fish and chips than here at The Mall Tavern. The fish was crispy, and the chips were perfectly salted to taste. I appreciate that chips in England are more like potato wedges than classic American french fries. Way less fried and way less salty, so you can enjoy the actual taste of the potatoes! I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese that we all shared. I don't know what kind of cheese(s) was used, but it was the perfect starter to our meal. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding for the first time. It was hard not to order another one!! We came in for late lunch, so the restaurant was empty. I assume they are much busier at lunch and dinner time. I also enjoyed the selection of beer while we waited for our food to come out. Next time I'm in London, I'm returning here immediately.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing from start to finish. I ordered the beef roast, and we also shared a side of the creamy cauliflower, which was to die for. I truly cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. The service was personable and welcoming, making it easy and comfortable to ask questions and try new things. One of the managers (apologies I don't know her name) checked in on us several times and even encouraged a few of us to try additional menu items. The food came out quickly, and once it arrived, the table went completely silent because we were all too busy enjoying every bite. I highly, highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting London and even the locals. A solid 10/10 experience!
