By 3mos mark she was able to backward quick with Coach Taylor not holding her. The scheduling on app and on phone was easy. I confused the team a lot with absence and Poe organization and they patiently dealt with me. I never felt stressed with having to make up classes though in the summer it may be harder given more kids are in class. Coach was great. Patient and on time and would take a bit more time if they didn't have back to back. My daughter takes Art, Music, Chinese and Soccer. She has a lot of instructors but loved the coach so much that her Barbie is now a swim instructor named Ms. Taylor. She also always ask for when swim lessons are and make sure we are not late. Facilities are clean. Indoor and very warm. Water is warm enough for winter swim and you can shower and dry hair before heading home. Ty team

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS! do NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM THEY ARE LIARS!…read more When I decided to sign up to I was told we could do either a make up class or if we let them know early enough we could not be charged for the class. They people couldn't figure out how to charge me so that was a whole debacle , and I went to pay they charged me a whole month. Come to find out they lied and you can't let them know in advance and not be charged. Now I still appreciated the make up classes so I decided to sign up. Now when I called to say hey I put in the website we were out but we didn't receive anything saying we got a make up class they said oh you only get 2 a month and only for 30 days. I have now canceled my membership. Onto the experience itself. The instructor is nice but he didn't know any songs to help calm my daughter who was getting used to classes again. There is no way other than jumping in and using your arms to get out. I beg and plead find someplace else.

Played a men's USTA league match the other day right at Foothills Tennis & Swimming Club. Arrived 45 minutes before the 11am match. Huge parking lot, surrounded by 10 foot hedge of trees blocking out any view of busy Foothill expressway. 7 lighted tennis courts, with benches and giant drinking jugs, with paper cups. Hopefully replenished daily! Nearby, a 75 foot swimming pool, suitable for lap swimming and swim contests. Beautiful clubhouse with plush sitting chairs for enjoying that drink after a hard fought tennis match. Went to the bathroom, opened the door, and a row of gleaming stalls over a spotless baby blue floor surface. Thought I had entered the ladies bathroom, and quickly hurried out, checking the sign on the door. No lady screaming, so I guess this is the right place. Exercise room and locker room for changing and taking showers. Very elaborate tiled shower room more suitable for a mansion. Tennis courts are blue and super fast. Built correctly facing north and south, but with no partitions between the courts. A ball could roll over three contiguous courts. Separate benches for each doubles team to sit on. At least one player is 80, and still has wheels for moving on that court. Another player makes me look thin, and I'm on the obese side! But he gets everything back that he can reach, and anticipates every shot you make. 90 minutes later, sweat running down my eyes, partially closed with stinging sun lotion from rubbing my hands over my forehead, I trudge off the court, and enjoy refreshments of Costco sandwiches and soda and beer with the locals. If you want the fancier food you got to play on a mixed doubles team with a woman captain! Was about to take a shower in the men's room, but there's a note that only members may shower. Got to trudge back to the oven like temperatures in the car, on this 82 degree March day, and stew in my own BO. There goes the new car smell in my 2017 Civic! $800 a quarter in maintenance fees. About on par with the other private tennis clubs in exclusive Palo Alto, where the median house price exceeds $3 million. But best high schools academically in California. If you have a spouse and 3 kids who swim and play tennis , you can get what you pay for.

Over the last year with Alto, she has become confident, has learned to see failure and challenge as a step towards success and learning. She has become less focused on beating others and focuses on beating her personal time records instead. She is more independent and responsible and driven. Irrespective of how her swim career goes, Alto has done permanent good for her and it has already started translating to other aspects of her life. What I appreciate the most about the club is that they treat the kids like Athletes with agency over their own success. Parents are stopped at the gate, and I mean this is the most positive way, it does wonders for the kids! The children learn to step up, self advocate, accept critical feedback without breaking, and they learn how to become advocates for their teammates! I only wish this model is adopted in schools too.

Coaches gave mixed messages about goals and group placement, and emails about billing or progress often went unanswered. It also became clear that many top swimmers quietly take private lessons or work with outside coaches -- something rarely discussed but widely understood. That unspoken dynamic adds confusion and pressure for families trying to follow the club's structure. Volunteers receive little coordination or appreciation, and the culture often prioritizes control and optics over genuine development. My kids lost motivation, which was heartbreaking given how much they love the sport.
