I wandered into the Miller's Table with the intention of having a glass of wine while I killed a half hour waiting for a friend at a nearby location. The service was friendly and prompt in the atmosphere was pleasant. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine and it was good. I hadn't intended to have anything to eat but the daily small plate specials were intriguing. I ordered a dish of "dolce" beet tops. I realize that many people would never order beet tops but I like them and have cooked and eaten them many times. After a short time I was served a small dish of beet tops. They were finely chopped with sweet-and-sour vinaigrette and a sprinkling of pecans on top. I ate several bites and enjoyed them until I bit into a forkful of grit. I thought "Oh it's only one bite" but it wasn't. After a few more forkfuls I felt as if I had eaten mud. The waiter returned to my seat and asked me if there was anything else he could get for me. I told him about the problem with the beet tops. I emphasized that I know they are difficult to clean. Each leaf must be washed carefully to remove the dirt from the field. He said he would return it to the kitchen. He did. I saw him there. When I got my bill I was surprised to see that I was still charged for the dirty beet tops. I didn't want to make a scene so I simply paid my bill and left. I think that someone should have at least responded to my complaint about dirt in my food. read more

Stacy and the wait staff here are excellent! The food is absolutely amazing. We had lunch and decided to come back for dinner ... on the same day! The food is eclectic and a twist on some traditional American and European dishes. They pair foods with wine and with beer if you want. And they know their stuff about both. So they aren't just slinging food in front of you with no idea what it is. Hands down, you will not be disappointed. read more

Sorry to have to write this review. Took a friend tonight expecting good things. We were greeted and seated quickly by a lovely hostess that I believe was Staci's sister. A chef/waiter was very busy describing wine flights with the table of 3 lovely ladies next to us. After a wait he turned his attention to us. We ordered a wine flight of Pinot Noir- an app and 2 sandwiches. Before any wine was poured he came back to confirm the order. ( he forgot) Our root chips came in cold and soggy and the portion was tiny. The first wine served was one of my favs JP Chenet which I buy at Frazier Farms for $6.99 a bottle. I like it, but come on! The second Sonoma Pinot was fine. When he wasn't engrossed with the ladies next to us he poured a third from Oregon that was so "biodynamic" and "diverse" that we found it undrinkable. We suggested kindly he should not Pour from that bottle. He went to taste it and came back to the table to school us on Willamette Pinot Noir. I am a member at Benton Lane, Anne Aimee and Raptor Ridge. Well versed on excellent Pinot Noir. No substitution was offered. The gentleman tried to wine shame me. Wow! Is the best way to start this. If you love wine and great food then this is your place. The owner is amazing and she takes so much pride in what she is doing. This is the best place we have been to in Oceanside over the past five years we have lived here. Menu changes weekly along with the multiple wine flights. We were delighted to find out that they were open on Labor Day, and will return many times. The owner is knowledgeable and kind, really cares about your experience. Her own experience and knowledge is relevant and reassuring. The chefs came out and served our plates, their pride in what they were creating was obvious and earned. Looking forward to working my way through the menu, especially the small plates. Everything about The Table is well considered and thought out. I felt truly comfortable, almost immediately. This reminds me of the rare small gems that you find when touring Italy - you can take the wine choice for granted - just ask for pairing suggestions. Excellent, fresh, simple food. Great wine and beer lists. You have a choice of bottle, glass or flight of your favorite. Our party shared the cheese and meat board and 2 different sandwiches, plus chocolate bread pudding. All were excellent. We loved the communal table. Wow is all my mouth could say after each bite. We had the pickled things first. Wow the taste of each thing was different and amazing. Then my hubby had the tuna sandwich so different and sooooo good I tasted it and Wow so good. I had roast beef and Wow it was fantastic. Not to mention the wonderful flavors of the wine samples and the woman I am now in love with, and want to learn her secrets, the owner. She is charming and has a great gift. Our whole family lives the fare at this sweet little restaurant just a few blocks from the Oceanside pier area. In fact after eating at Miller's Table we decided we could close our kitchen for every meal but breakfast. The food is all fresh, made to order so the owner will make sure you can eat delicious food no matter what kind of food allergies you might have. Everything that is freshly pickled is scrumptious. The breads are locally sourced. There is a regular menu and always terrific daily additions. Lots of the food is from local Farmer's markets. Plus there is a good selection of wines and beers. Food was really tasty. However, the service was inexplicably slow. We came in around 5 and finally got our check around 7 to leave. Waitstaff seemed nice enough, but could not make this meal happen for us. We had kids with us and they were generally well behaved, but got really antsy with no food. The popcorn that we ordered was way overpriced for the serving we received and it wasn't even warm or that flavorful. Finally, finally got our food in dribs and drabs. My son had to wait an extra 10 minutes for his sandwich. These were not complicated meals-sandwiches! It was like they had never served a table over 4 people before. I could tell it was a local spot for folks, but it seemed woefully unprepared for a table with kids and more than 2 adults. read more

This place is a Diamond in the Rough. WHAT A FIND. Outstanding food only excelled by the service and friendliness of the staff. The owner, Staci, is a delightful, caring person. You'll feel like you've been invited to dinner at her home. The arrangement of the seating makes for great conversations with strangers who will become friends. A wonderful find. Reminded me of a tapas bar with the ability to order little bites. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The twinkling lights drew us in as we drove down Coast Highway looking for somewhere new to eat. Stacy the owner and the young man working with her were delightful and their aim was to please which they did. If you want a unique and quality dining experience at a very reasonable price I strongly recommend The Miller's Table in Oceanside. We loved the idea of the open table concept, encouraging dialogue between guests with the option of a more private experience at an individual table. I am not as much a foodie as my wife is but let me tell you we were both very impressed. I think there is a rewarding experience for the most sophisticate pallet as well as someone that is not as much a foodie. I also think its great for someone who just wants to have a nice glass of wine and an appetizer in a warm environment. Stacy was genuinely excited to share her unbelievable knowledge of food and wine paring. Her extensive background in every aspect of food and wine is very obvious in the well thought out menu. I have been wanting to try this place out since I heard about it. I went yesterday with my mom who is visiting from out of town, I am so happy we did. We had a wine flight of 3 whites - generous tasting pours, and the assortment of bites and cheese and meats. This was paired specifically for the wines we were having and was fantastic.
