After doing some shopping at the Tanger Outlets, I suggested going to The Taco Stache (TTS) to my husband as I had heard it had opened recently. I'm always in the mood for a good taco, I mean, aren't you? TTS is located in The Commons at Savannah Quarters. - Parking - Center lot. - Vibe - The store front is unassuming. Nothing fancy, just the restaurant logo. Very simple and clean. Then, you open the doors and the first thing that catches your eye(s) is the bar which is the centerpiece. The bar is tiled with a cool, black and white design and they have barstools in bright red, my favorite color! On the back wall of the bar, right in the center, is a bright, neon green (mou)stache hanging on a faux microgreen panel as its background with flat screen TVs everywhere. There are high tops in the middle and tables on either end of the restaurant. While we were there, there was some construction going on which was nothing major or loud. I think the guys were finishing up what looks like an outdoor seating area. That will be nice once this heat goes away! - TLC - On the way to the restaurant, I saw that TTS has a waitlist option on Yelp, but opted not to use it as the wait was less than 5 minutes. Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately and seated right away. Bailey was our waitress and she was a sweetheart. She gave us a quick intro of their offerings and explained the difference between the Lunch and Dinner menu. She came back to check on us often and made sure our waters and drinks were always filled. - Eats/Bevvies - I ordered a Sweet Tea, but they also offer Coke products. My husband had one of their beers on tap. They seem to have a good drink list. Lunch - I got the Taco Mix & Match, 3 for $11. There is a 2 for $8 option, but what's one more taco? Besides, I was hungry. The difference between the Lunch and Dinner menu, by the way, is that they have limited the taco choices down to six kinds at lunch, while offering the full selection of 12 kinds at night. Here's where the stache comes in. All their tacos are named after a stache. I was kind of disappointed that none of the staff members were sporting one haha. They've kept the menu simple which I appreciate (especially since I get so indecisive and FOMO is real for me) and limited to other things like different quesadillas and a few bowl options. Nothing worse than reading a booklet and then being bombarded with too many options and then not being able to make a decision, all while getting hangrier by the minute. My 3 choices were: Fu Man Chu - I read "Korean BBQ" and being Korean, I'm always intrigued, so of course I ordered it. Nothing Korean about it, neither the name nor the taco. However, I still enjoyed it. The flavor was good and I'd order it again. It was a good piece of brisket and the slaw added a good crunch to it. El Bandito - Both my husband and I ordered this one and I think we must have gotten a fatty batch, but there was more fat than pork. I didn't mind the pork fat because there is a lot of it in Korean food. It's great flavor and I'm used to it, but my husband was disappointed with this one. I thought that the pineapple was a great combo with the pork. The Swashbuckler - This was just a solid, shrimp taco. It had grilled shrimp, salsa, cilantro, chipotle crema and cotija cheese. This was a great choice! Husband had El Bandito, Fu Man Chu and the Cowboy and his fave was the Cowboy. It has Fried Chicken and pimento cheese among other things. Basically it was all Southern. I didn't even get a chance to taste it, so you'll have to take his word for it or check it out for yourself. All tacos come by default, on corn tortillas, so if you want them on flour tortillas like I did (gasp, I know, I just can't do corn unless they are fried), make sure you mention that to your server. The Mix and Match comes with one choice of side, so I chose rice and Husband chose salad and the Tabasco vinaigrette upon Bailey's recommendation. The salad was great with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, sliced red onion, topped with cotija cheese. Wow! We both agreed the Tabasco vinaigrette was awesome! It was not really spicy, but so flavorful! I didn't care for the rice as I thought it was a bit dry. - Kiddos - For the restaurant being a sports bar atmosphere, it's nice to know that TTS has fully acknowledged the potential for families to walk in and there were many that Sunday afternoon. There is only one Kids Meal option, but it is printed on the main menu, as if to say, "Parents, we gotchu!" As a parent, I appreciate that and the meal is offered at a great value. For only $5, the meal includes a Cheese Quesadilla with a side of sauce, rice and beans with drink included. Can't beat that deal! It's so nice to have another fresh and flavorful option to go to in Pooler besides the big chain restaurants right off of 95 and another reason why TTS makes Pooler a little cooler! read more

Too many small things gone wrong! Food- Ordered the lunch combo 2 tacos, side of guacamole, and drink for 9.99. Guac was a big chunk or avocado. corn tortillas had a stale taste, they were not pan heated( as all corn tortillas need to be). Taco filling was good. Place. New modern but a bit dirty and AC was not working properly. Service- my server was either new or poorly trained. Although she tried her best at every opportunity, she did not asked what kind of tortilla I wanted, she assumed flour, had to change to corn. When the bill came they charged for individual items a total of $17. I was told I ordered too late the lunch special. I told them the server took my lunch special order without telling me it was over. Therefore they need to honor and correct, which they did, but insisted that next time I need to remember the lunch hours. Actually, they need to train the staff better. I don't have anything really bad to say about this place....but then again I won't be running back. The tacos were good, not great but good. The staff seemed a little over worked. Our server got 2 large tables and kinda forgot about us but other than that it was nice to try. This place is out in Pooler I don't plan on making any special trips here. I will say the chips were amazing! I ended up having some tacos I didn't really want but they were out of 3 of the options.... which I thought was weird. On our way to Charleston SC we stopped to get some food and gas at the Costco just off I-16 outside of Savannah GA. We saw the sign for The Taco Stache and said tacos sound good for lunch. Boy were we surprised when the type of tacos were very different than your standard taco shop. This will be a regular stop for us now as we travel north on I-95. The best chips and salsa in Pooler! Their chips have some soft of magical seasoning on them that makes you want to each every last one. Overall this place is good. The food is decent - I'm a fan of their cowboy tacos and quesadillas. The service is lacking though. The staff rarely checks to see if you need refills. I had to wave down our server serval times. One perk to this place is that it's more of a Sports Bar and they have the NFL Ticket, which is hard to come by in Pooler! read more

Walked in on a Thursday night and they had live music. Good energy and atmosphere. Started with chips and Queso and a margarita. Both were delicious. I got the 3 for $12 tacos and they were AMAZING. Korean bbq taco was by far the favorite. My husband got the Turf bowl with brisket. Was also delicious, however on the smaller side but flavor wise 10/10. Service was friendly and quick. So after my first terrible experience, I decided to give them one more chance, considering it's been months since grand opening. Boy did I ever waste my time once again!! Upon walking in, a man on the outside mentioned the kitchen was closed, but the bar was open for drinks. The establishment closes at 10pm, it was 9pm, I figure the wife and I could have 2-3 drinks and head home. Yeah, that was possible! We sit at the bar and this ignorant ass bartender tells us they're pretty much closed! Mind you, the restaurant had about 15 people in it, but they're closed? Am I missing something here? I asked the girl if the man outside was the owner, she said yes, I said well the OWNER told us you're open for drinks and that's all we want is to have some drinks. This was her response. "We're really not open, once the kitchen is closed we technically can't sell alcohol by law." Wait, so you're a lawyer now? You know the laws and codes of the city? No darlin, you have a liquor license which allows you to sell alcohol while your establishment is open, it's NOT contingent upon your kitchen being open. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life! But wait there's more! So if it's a LAW, not to sell alcohol once the kitchen was closed, why would you still let us sit down and order a drink? Interesting right? So while I was still trying to figure out why this girl was turning away business and a great tip with all this COVID shit happening, she proceeds to tell us, "well I'll only be able to serve you one drink" Wait a minute, so now the law was lifted and you can serve me one drink? Not 2, but 1 drink? You have 1 more hour until close. The wife and I could have ran up a nice little $50-$60 tab in that time frame, which means you'd get 25% of that as a tip for pretty much just sliding us a few drinks while you cleaned and ignored us. So $15 for less than an hour of ignoring us that you could have made while cleaning your bar and yet you didn't want to serve us. I'm so confused how business works in Georgia? How do these people survive? How do these people still have jobs? Is this the type of service that's the norm out here? Is zero work ethic a requirement for employment in the south? Had this been my restaurant, I would have fired her on the spot and served my customers! I will never, ever in my life patronize this place ever again! If that girl is not fired, my money will never be given to this place, ever! Sad thing is, I spend a good $300 a week dining out with the wife. We love tacos and this place is 5 min from our house. This could have been our local watering hole. Too bad I won't be back and my community page has been notified of the service in this place. Warning: Long but good review! The hostess seemed new so my party and I seated ourselves after we made the decision to dine in instead of take out. I highly recommend trying this place out. Doubt you'll experience that. I hope not, at least. We had complimentary chips and salsa, but added a side of queso and guac. Love, love, loved the chips. They were seasoned and thin. Didn't feel guilty eating it. The salsa tasted like watered down marinara sauce, BUT the queso and guac was really good. The guac was fresh and just yummy! For cocktails, we ordered a mango Kentucky mule and a classic margarita. The margarita was great. I love a classic marg made with fresh lime juice and agave. They also had a number of flavors to choose from. I'm sure just as good. For our entree's, we ordered two orders of the the 3 for $12 tacos and two orders of the Cali Chicken Quesadilla, one with no chimichuri and one on the side and a side salad with coconut balsamic vinaigrette and rice. For the tacos, we had The Eighth Grade Bully, The Swashbuckler, The Cowboy, and The Villian. The Villian was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend trying it. The Cowboy was another great taco. As far as the quesadilla it was good as well. Can't go wrong with it. The chimichuri tasted more like a marinade than of a sauce/dressing. The sides: The dressing for the side salad was delicious (can't go wrong with a side salad ); the rice was bland by itself but paired perfectly for your taco as an added razzle dazzle. Lol! Overall our experience was great. Again, I highly recommend going. If I lived in the area, I would be there all the time. Mostly for the margarita. Hehe. I was warned before going that a lot of items on their menu are very spicy, and I don't like too much spice. But I just made sure to order items without really spicy sauces on them and everything was DELICIOUS! I did the 3 for $13 mix-and-match street tacos (GREAT price!) and it was hard to narrow down to just three tacos because they all had such great combinations of ingredients. If you are in a hurry, or impatient, this is not the place for you. The service is friendly but very slow. Took over 40 minutes for one taco and one bowl. They were not busy when we arrived. Stopped here for a quick brunch recently and found the menu for brunch to be quite eclectic...so we ordered a few brunch tacos and a few tacos from the regular menu and an order of the tots. The tacos were fine, there just wasn't anything special, the tots were cold and stale, and the margs were just ok. Food was great again, and they were not out of anything!!! Service was almost a little obtrusive, but better more than less. A person can grow weary of an odd phrase or two, but it's difficult not to comment on being asked 'How're WE doing over here now?" - almost as much as Is 'How did we enjoy our dinner tonight?' on the 10th time. Graded on 1 to 5 scale with 5 being Great. Keeping it brief and to the point. First time here. Decor: 5 - nice little place has that bigger city feel to it and the interior is chill as hell. Lol very moderne feel. I mean come on the bathroom has a mirror with a tv in it. I can dig it! Service: 5 - our waitress she was amazing. Her first big group and we were probably one of three big groups. Just small things like utensils forgotten time took between seeing our server. Other than that it's really relaxed and I enjoyed. Food: 3 - now I do enjoy a god taco and along with that I like different flavors and a large selection. This place provides it all but they could do it just a tad bit better. I got mix and match tacos and for the most part they were a tad bit cold and such was the consensus around the table. For the price of indid expect a little more but many factors could have played into this such as the number of big groups vs the amount of staff. I get it .None the less we ate it because he'll we had times to be places. I was not too impressed this time but I will definitely go back. I really want to try the brunch stuff but it's only servered on Sundays. I wish they would crack those eggs on Saturday lol I would destroy those brunch items lol. Very mediocre at best. Tacos were lacking filling, bland and just overall not anything good. Margaritas were average. Service was very slow. Slow to be greeted and really slow for food. Environment is really more of a sports bar. TV in the bathroom mirror. Might be a good place for a drink to watch a game but would not come here for the food. The Taco Stache was a last minute stop to meet up with friends. We walked into the restaurant 30 minutes after opening, customers hadn't really had the chance to fill the space yet. My husband and I sat at the bar with Brittany for a round of drinks before our friends arrived. I was in the mood for a Margarita. Brittany explained that they make their own Margarita sauces. They offer a wide variety of flavors, about 6. I asked if she could mix the jalapeno and strawberry for me. (my favorite)! She did, and delivered! It was bomb! My husband had a Corona. Our bill at the bar was $20 ish. Two drinks and a chip. When our friends arrived we moved to a table for more space. This is were things got dicey. Taco Stache does assigned seating. I'm guessing since we moved, with Brittany's knowledge, that's why we wanted about 15 minutes to be greeted. I asked Brittany if she could get our server after a bit. She explained she was the server....okay.. The food is great, very flavorful. Each taco has it's unique taste. I ordered their 3 for $12 meal. Three tacos with a side. Great value. I couldn't finish it all. Silly me didn't take a picture of the taco names to reflect back on, but I'll describe them as best as possible to reference. The fried Cauliflower taco is great! The cauliflower wasn't mushy, very crisp. I loved the sauce it's paired with. The fried cod taco was iffy for me. The fish was gone half way through the taco that I didn't finish the other half. It was just okay. The bbq shredded beef taco is my favorite. The meat is extremely flavorful and the bbq isn't overwhelming. -if you lime bbq get this! The guac was my side and it was texmex style. It is lacking something. We ordered two more rounds of Margaritas...they are good! I'd like to shine light on the atmosphere. Took 45 minutes to get our food. They got the order wrong. Didn't give us silverware to use on the side of rice. My daughters kids quesadilla was laughable (photo attached). Waitress was aloof and made us feel rushed every time she ran by. Never got two drink refills we asked for . I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you have a full hour to blow to get a taco. My fiance and I love this place! Always very clean & it is a very fun vibe inside. Their tacos and quesadillas are great! We've tried almost all of them & are never disappointed. The food is always fresh. My faves are the Cowboy, the Swashbuckler, & the Savvy Shrimp Quesadilla & my fiance loves the Rich Uncle, the Pinkerton, & the Cali Chicken Quesadilla. Food is delicious -a Tex Mex flair. Great selection at the bar. Atmosphere is similar to a sports bar but nicer. Owner is amazing!

Pretty disappointed especially since there seems to be so much potential here! Ambiance is cool, pretty trendy, and we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. Food was meh. The queso had the consistency of Elmer's glue and tasted what I would expect glue to taste like as well. The tacos were ok. I had the shrimp and my husband tried three different ones but wasn't wow'd by any one of them. Best thing was probably the tater tots that came with my kids' meals. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks so I can't comment on them. Service was horrible - I took into consideration it was a Saturday afternoon and seemed busy but it was still extremely slow.
