I have never been disappointed in the food. The restaurant definitely gets busy for dinner. That's when it's exciting. The staff is running back and forth trying to keep everyone happy. I have never seen a Manager that works harder than the one at Cilantros. Taking care of the bar, the door dash orders , the to go orders, the kitchen, the Staff and running food. Casual atmosphere, friendly service. Chips and salsa served upon seating, the salsa had a nice but of zing to it. Ordered the steak fajitas and the Al Pastor Tacos. Fajitas were super sizzling and well sized. The taco meat was a bit overcooked but good. The horchata had the perfect amount of cinnamon and had a great flavor. The frozen banana margarita was a strong tequila forward drink with a whisper of banana. Overall would try here again as the service was good and the pricing was average. read more

The food was decent, but the service was absolutely terrible. I ordered a large mango coronita, a drink I've had many times before, and the waitress decided to lecture me on how she thought it wouldn't taste good. I politely asked her to just make the drink, but she kept insisting and even warned me--unprompted--that I'd still have to pay if I didn't like it. It came off as rude and unnecessary, as if she assumed I'd try to scam the restaurant. To make matters worse, she and another server stood right in front of our table and started talking about us in Spanish, laughing and giggling like we couldn't tell. It was beyond unprofessional and incredibly disrespectful. We're usually generous tippers (at least 20%), but this time, we left about 18% along with a note that said, "Don't talk about your customers." I walked in to order a burrito and drink to go. As I signed the check I realized I was paying $28 for a $16.99 burrito and a $3.99 coke. I noticed there is a 5% to-go tax and 3% surcharge for a credit card on top of the 7% tax. I chose to tip the server $5. He was attentive while I waited and non of this is his fault. I brought it to his attention. He said, "a lot of people complain about that." I bet they do! That's crazy. I've also included the pic of my burrito. Flair was fine. Vacationed here in Savannah and husband and I were craving Mexican food but since it was getting dark, we opted someplace close by and found Cilantro's. Typical Mexican restaurant with typical Mexican menu but one item caught my eye - Texas Tacos. Think alambre inside a soft corn taco shell - bacon crumbles with steak bites. YES!!! It was so good never mind the jalapenos burning in my mouth! I LOVE TEXAS TACOS!!! Never had it before and it is now a week later and I WANT TEXAS TACOS...too bad there isn't one here made where I live but when I get back to Savannah, I am ordering some more TEXAS TACOS!!! Very enjoyable experience. We stopped in for evening bite and were pleasantly surprised. Although it was in the early evening and there were several other patrons, it had a relatively quiet with an inviting atmosphere (they had light background music but it wasn't a challenge to hold a table side conversation). Had the chimichanga ultimate and my wife had a chicken quesadilla. Both were just right. Very attentive service on drinks, chips, and salsa. It was pretty good although the tamale had way too much of a masa breading. My wife had the shrimp tacos which she enjoyed. Service was very slow. This is the only Mexican restaurant that I've been to that charges extra for salsa. We had a table with 6 people and were given 2 small bowls of salsa. We asked for more bowls of salsa because we had 6 people. We were told that it would cost extra. However, if 6 individuals came and sat separately then each person would get their own bowl. Ordered burrito, cool inside and very little cheese sauce(trying to say queso, but that would be a stretch). Overall, dry and cool. Almost $20.00 for burrito and medium draft. The food is delicious but we got our food almost 30 minutes after we ordered and they were a bit crowded but not that crowded. Then, more people came in and they took their order before us and we had been sitting down for almost 20 minutes already. Eventually our server came and took our drinks and orders. Then, another person came to bring us our food and didn't even know who had what and got our order confused with another table. But the food is great, just not great service. I wasn't expecting much if I'm being honest, but I had an excellent lunch at Cilantro's recently. The chips and salsa are bottomless and our server made sure we had our fill. The salsa was good and not overly salty. For my entree I had the Acapulco cheesesteak with chicken. It was sort of like a fajita, sort of like a quesadilla...but with the cheese over it instead of in it. It was really good and the lunch size was the perfect portion.
