First time visiting this restaurant and I'm a little surprised it's not rated higher. Making reservations for 1pm on Mother's Day, we were immediately greeted. Requesting if the outdoor seating is available, the staff happily obliged. We started with a few appetizers which include their lobster bisque, potato skins and crab cakes. The lobster bisque was fantastic, and I was pleasantly surprised to see chunks of lobster meat throughout the soup. The crab cakes were packed with crab and had a crispy exterior and tender interior. Although I personally prefer my crab cakes pan-fried and these were deep fried, I actually found them very enjoyable. As for the potato skins, these were pretty standard and nothing to write home about. For mains, I opted in for one of their Mother's Day specials which was their prime rib. I found this to be incredibly tender. I did however find this to be under-seasoned and 30% of the prime rib to be pure fat, but nevertheless this was tasty. For dessert, I opted in for their vanilla creme brulee which was tasty. The consistency of the custard, I found to not be as smooth as I'm used to, but again nevertheless it was tasty. I have to point out the service and hospitality from Audrey (our Server), and Declan (helper) was impeccable. Audrey was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Both constantly checked up on us and made our experience even better. The atmosphere, along with the great food, and along with the great service, we'll definitely be back. read more

Hit or miss kinda place. I think it has lots of potential but it seems the chef(s) aren't consistent. Fingers crossed for a better future outcome. I really do wish the calamari was better. Nothing I like more than fresh fried tentacles when I'm staring out onto the water. These are giant ice sized rings and often soggy and toooo chewy. Where is the crunch factor man?!?! I know this location has had several owners/changes over the years, but this new owner has done an excellent job putting the menu together and serving consistently good food. We have been to Braddock Bay Tavern several times and have not been disappointed. 1st visit we had their wings-fresh, hot and excellent. Came back today and had their fish fry-let me tell you, I love my fish fry's and have tried many in the Rochester area-some very good places-Braddock Bay Tavern is near the top-the size was ridiculously large (not complaining), fresh, crispy beer battered and delicious-clam chowder-outstanding (comes with dinner or salad). Service-never rushed, very pleasant and accommodating waitress with a wonderful, enthusiastic approach. Went on a Friday night and waited over 1 1/2 hours for food to arrive. I felt bad for waitress. I heard other conversations around me and people had been waiting quite a long time. Wrong orders coming out, all customers at table not getting food at same time. We were going to leave. She kept apologizing, never saw owner/manager. Food was ok, nothing special. Arrived for Friday night diner and was impressed with the interior of the restaurant. My family and I order the Friday night Fish fry dinner. Service was very good and we were made to feel right at home. The dinner arrived in a timely manner. One of our party members had a great hamburger which she really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the remainder of our party of five was served the Friday night Fish fry. The fish was deep fried and although it looked good unfortunately it did not taste very good and the coleslaw was out right bad. Overall, our experience with the fish dinner was very poor. What was very upsetting was when our waitress informed us that we were being charged $ .75 for each additional small serving of tartar sauce. ( Only one serving was provided with each meal). Left a good tip since the waitress was great. Unfortunately, the dinners were not. We will not return to this restaurant any time in the near future. read more

We've been to the old place many times. New owner and chef (old chef from long time ago) We've been here twice now . The last time was a Saturday night and we were told 2 servers called in , that's a big hit on staff even so the kitchen staff stepped up and helped the servers out,as well as the owner. Great food with waterfront view. The French onion soup was the best I ever had. I had Chicken French for an entree and escarole was undercooked. Service was a bit slow. Wanted to sit outside but owner wouldn't sit us at a table that was available as there was only 3 of us. Table opened up and waitress moved us to table outside. We stopped by here because we heard they had a prime rib special on Saturday nights. My husband loves prime rib so we made a reservation and headed over. There were many choices besides the prime rib-burgers, chicken,pasta, fish-something for everyone. We shared an apps - Sicilian calamari with kalamata olives and banana peppers. Great marinara on the side topped with fresh basil. Wonderful! I ordered the haddock French over escarole. Can I just say the portion was enormous. The amount I took home looked like I hadn't eaten much of it but I was certainly full! Our server Lisa was great! Very attentive and always ready to get water, d yea napkins, whatever we needed. This is one place I will definitely be back to! And if you are into sports, there are plenty of big screen TVs! read more

I know what the restaurant will say in reply to my review: 'It was a holiday/we were busy/we were short-staffed/come back and try us again.' I know it was a holiday/it didn't seem that busy even though we were told it was/there was enough wait staff but there must have been just one poor slob in the kitchen/no, we will not come back. Memorial Day was a busy day for us, but, around 7 pm we were ready to celebrate a special day with a nice dinner. We had been hearing about this restaurant via local morning food news segments and local food-themed radio shows. I checked out the menu and the reviews. It sounded like a nice place on the water with a good menu. We entered and approached the hostess station. There was no hostess. A waitress approached us. We asked to be seated somewhere quiet, as the bar conversation and the music was a bit loud. We were told that the kitchen had stopped taking orders for awhile, but we could have a drink and study the menu. It was at this point we should have left and found a Wendy's somewhere. We received our drink order, and we were given a basket of bread. We had no silverware, so we left the bread untouched. During this time, we were able to observe what was going on around us. One diner, after the waiter profusely apologized over the long wait for his dinner, asked that it be wrapped "to go", as he had run out of time and had to leave. Another diner came from a separate room, saw his waiter, and yelled "There you are; I thought you had been fired!" The conversation from the bar area started drifting into our dining room. It was a constant stream of swear words, obscenities and even racial and ethnic slurs. The waitress finally came to take our order. Two of the dishes we wanted to order were unavailable. It would have been nice to have been told that before we ordered. After another good chunk of time, our Clams Casino was brought out. The server disappeared before we remembered that we had no silverware, so we had to call out to another waiter who had come into the room. The menu is good. The food is good. The scenery is good. Some of the wait staff didn't seem like they belonged there, and the bar crowd must be a holdover from another time. We felt like we were in a dive bar the entire time. It's such a shame that with all the restaurants we could have gone to that we picked this one. It's also a shame that a promising menu of good food was ruined by inept workers and customers who can't respect other customers. It's really a shame that we are out $80 as well. read more

Very good chicken French last night!!! The chicken was so tender and flaky, the sauce and angel hair to die for! The salad to start was delicious, good spinach and cabbage, the Caesar dressing was tangy and full of flavor. There was corn on the salad, which was a little weird, and chickpeas. But my husband happily devoured those, lol. We got an appetizer or the fried sampler, with onion rings, pizza logs, mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers, which were good! Tasted very fresh, fries crispy. We probably didn't need an appetizer, the chicken French portion was HUGE! Service was friendly, the bar was stocked well. It was clean and tidy. Decor was very relaxing, mix of grays. The music was more old timey, but that's fine! Definitely will return in the summer to enjoy the view of the bay even better! read more

They take your phone number when you make your reservation, why, if they can't call to notify you that they won't be open? We had quite a long drive to get there. It gets 5 stars because it was pretty darn good and because we were pleasantly surprised. The outide patio on this lovely June afternoon was the perfect setting for a quiet and enjoyable 5 pm lunch. Mrs. Bombay opted for 10 of the wings...5 barbecue and 5 medium and was happy with her choice and brought home 5 of the amply sized morsels. I went for the clam chowder and fish fry with french fries. I prefer my chowder first but because Patti broght it all at once, I improvised. One of the best fish fries ever and super french fries washed down with excellent and hearty chowder. Prices were very fair...service a little slow, but friendly. In addition to the traditional wings, sandwiches & burgers on lunch menu, you can also get amazing quiche, niciose salad and crepes. Their New England clam chowder is pretty stellar too! I made a reservation 5 days ahead for 6 people for a table with a bay view, got to restaurant and told they didn't have a table for us except near the bar. No waitress payed any attention to us for over a half hour, we never ate until an hour after arrival, and fishfries were not worth $17 each. My husband was brought the wrong brand of beer, waitress blamed it on bartender and promised to bring him a replacement. She then charged him for both beers.
