    The French Dip
    Tyler M.

We were staying on "hotel alley" near the boardwalk and were sick of eating bar food. Found this GEM online and wish so much we had discovered it earlier in our week vacation. The vibe is modern and CLEAN. The food was fresh and delicious. The wine menu was good and the staff was knowledgeable with recommendations. Within our group we had the tuna ceviche, the "Let him cook!", flatbread, the French dip and the AG salad. Every single one of us loved everything! And honestly the cost was the same as the bar food on the strip. 100% would prefer this place. It was quiet and slow and we can only hope when we return to Myrtle Beach this place is still there and can get us in. Do not miss the opportunity to eat here.

    Super extensive/delicious wine selection!

Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. We will 100% be back, and Nick is a big reason why. Portofino, you have a gem on your staff. Treat him well!

We each picked a couple items, and at first I was skeptical about how well such a mixed menu would come together. That skepticism didn't last long. What's impressive is how they manage to cover different cuisines and still execute them well. The shishito peppers came perfectly grilled and paired with an amazing sauce that really elevated them beyond a typical appetizer. The meatballs felt like something straight out of a family kitchen comforting, rich, and reminiscent of grandma-style cooking. The shrimp scampi was another standout: flavorful, well-balanced, and not overdone with butter or garlic. But the real highlight of the night was the pistachio espresso martini so smooth, creative, and easily one of the most memorable cocktails on the menu. Overall, it's a great spot for sharing plates and trying a little bit of everything. It turns what could feel like a scattered menu into a fun, consistently solid dining experience.

I had come across a drool worthy review for a new restaurant "Notte del Vino" the day my husband Art & I arrived in Myrtle Beach and was delighted that our friends old & new decided to give it a try. There were 8 of us in total so we had to take 2 cars, the first of which arrived a good 10 minutes or so before we did. From the outside, one would never know what awaited us inside. Once we stepped in, we were transported to a magical oasis if you will. The ambiance was absolutely stunning. We were seated in a lovely little alcove just off the main dining area. The owner, David, came in to welcome us, tell us about his restaurant, and more. David shared with us that they had opened just 2 weeks prior. He also shared how when building the restaurant, the construction crew had suggested a walk-in freezer, which he declined. The only freezer in his restaurant is for ice cream. Everything else is farm to table fresh. David also shared with us that his wine selection is all imported as these do not have the additives wines made in the U.S. do. David told us that Christina & Graham would be our servers and trusted they would take good care of us, they were amazing. We placed 2 orders of the Bruschetta as an appetizer for our table, and it wasn't until it was almost gone that I realized I had not taken a picture. (I did manage to take one before indulging in the last bite)... It was SO incredibly good. I and 3 of the other gals ordered the Prime Filet, my husband and Ruth's husband Frantzcy ordered the Pan Seared Haddock, Ruth ordered the Polla Alla Milanese dish and light haired Jamie's husband Preston ordered the Prime Dry-Aged Bone-In 22 oz Ribeye. Moans of delight could be heard across the table as we each took our first bites. The shareable sides Art & I chose were the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Ruth & Frantzcy ordered the Spanish Roasted Potatoes, Preston & Light haired Jaime ordered the green beans as did Debbie & dark haired Jaime. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection. Those of us who ordered wine were delighted with the selections. Every steak was melt-in-your-mouth DELICIOUS. And then there was dessert... Heavenly, Divine, Dessert... Trust me when I suggest you INDULGE! Our servers Christina & Graham took excellent care of us, the owner David even checked in on us from time to time, sharing little tidbits and even later a toast. I am sure in speaking for all of us, we felt not only were we treated like family, we felt like royalty. It was so incredibly obvious to each of us, the love, passion, and purpose David has poured into every aspect of the menu, the restaurant, his servers, and his cooks. All of this overflowed and was incredibly tangible to each of us as I am sure would overflow to each patron who sets foot in this restaurant. We couldn't recommend Notte del Vino any higher. It's truly the elite of elites. If you're ever in the Myrtle Beach area, looking for a meal and experience that will knock your socks off, Notte del Vino will deliver in spades. Notte del Vino is located at 1470 South Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. You'll want to have a Reservation as there is limited seating. The number to call for Reservations is 843-907-2231 Thank you, David, Christina, Graham and Chef's, (I am so sorry I forgot the Chef's names, but I will never forget their skills) for an INCREDIBLE Meal & evening. Never forget the gift that you are. Keep Shining & We DEFINITELY Hope to see you all again next time we are in Myrtle Beach! P.S. I had Art drive by Sunday to get pictures of the outside. Don't be fooled by the exterior, what's inside is pure magic.
