I've been to Bar 19 twelve for drinks before and have always been impressed by its modern decor, lighted bar and excellent drink selection handled by professional bartenders. Since it was my father's last night in North Myrtle Beach until September I thought it would be a great place to have our last dinner together for a while. I dialed up my app and made a 7PM reservation for three. We pulled in about 6:50 and found a spot right in front of the restaurant...it was going to be a good night. We got inside and chose to sit indoors near the bar. My father likes to see people and I felt this would be a good spot to do this and it was. The restaurant was mid century modern in design, airy and uncluttered...we were seated in a booth - chair combo that was a rendition of that style. We looked at the drink menu and my father went for a glass of Pinot Noir, his friend went for a lemon drop martini and I went for a Heineken 00. The waitress couldn't be nicer and quickly brought us our drinks. The lemon drop was perfect and served in an ice cold steel martini glass while my father was quite happy with his California Pinot. We reviewed the food menu and decided to share two "tables"...the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese dip with home made pork rinds. Within a few minutes, four deviled eggs arrived dressed up with a slice of jalapeño and sprinkled with bacon bits. A large plate of fresh pork rinds with homemade pimento cheese came out simultaneously. The deviled eggs were excellent with just the right texture and not too moist...the bacon bits added another layer of flavor and the jalapeño gave it a nice kick, however, the pork rinds and pimento cheese stole the show. The rinds were light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch and the pimento cheese was superb...very flavorful with nice chunks of pimento and grated cheese. My father was diving in on the cheese so fast it was tough to get some. His lady friend also commented on how good it was. Next came the mains. My father settled in the American Waygu Burger with hand cut fries, I went for the lamb rack with string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes and the lady went for the Arugula salad with candied pecans, Granny Smith apples , goat cheese and craisins. My lamb was excellent...medium rare with a nice flavorful crust with a hint of garlic and herbs. The potatoes were well roasted and tasty while the string beans were cooked correctly but a tad bland. The arugula salad was delicious with a nice citrus dressing that played well with the candied pecans and craisins...the smith apples was a nice contrast. My father in the other hand, ate way too much pimento cheese and rinds and as a result just picked in his fries, which were excellent...salted well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He ended up taking the burger home. Amazingly, when dessert was brought up he was all in. Although known for their "Butter Cake" we decided to share(and by share I mean my father had about 90% of it) the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Turns out it's as good as it sounds...intense chocolate flavor in a very moist cake with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream on the side...top notch. Sadly, it was getting late and my father had an early plane to catch so we got the bill(more reasonable than I expected), tipped the excellent waitress and said our good nights. We made plans to come back in September...although I'll be back well before that...Bar 19 Twelve will be going on my rotation. read more

After golf a couple of days ago, my husband and I stopped in for a light dinner. Never been here before, but it looked fresh from the outside, and the inside was comfortable and on the classy side. Service was prompt. And then things went downhill. Because I have a condition that reacts badly to cold, I asked for light ice in my drink. It came loaded. I skimmed some out, then the server apologized and brought another. Same deal - loaded with ice. Sandwiches came. My meatloaf wasn't bad, But the bun was burned. My husband's crispy chicken sandwich was so tough I suggested he ask for a steak knife. It was also flavorless. Waitress offered to get something else for him. Recap: excellent all around. The only problem with eating at Bar 19 Twelve is parking - the lot isn't large and is shared with another restaurant that has valet that blocks off some spots for their use. No biggie. Service was pleasant, knowledgeable, and friendly. The cocktails were very creative - we tried the resposado / mescal and the lemon / ginger cocktails - both were unique and very tasty. We tried the special lump crab meat and shrimp cocktail - the crab was wonderful although the shrimp were a little smaller than expected and not as firm as they should be. The fried green tomatoes and the roasted vegetables were delicious. The jalapeño bacon wrapped shrimp were amazing - delicious on first bite and then the heat kicked in - woo! The seafood limoncello risotto was a home run - such great flavors. The other dish we tried was a main special - a really special grouper - wonderful. We had the pimento cheese & hot pork rinds appetizers with entrees of pork belly, short ribs, crab cakes and the chicken Marsala. The latter was a bit dry but great flavor. This restaurant was recommended by somebody we golfed with. It did not disappoint land ived up to its expectations. They had awesome old-fashions. The bruschetta appetizer was one of the best we've ever had. Prime rib special that night was very good. The rack of lamb was one of the best I've ever had as well. We asked for Vicki since she was recommended to us. And she was very knowledgeable friendly and a great waitress. Make sure you make reservations. Very nice place great atmosphere and worth every penny we paid for the meal. We will definitely go back and need to try their other restaurant right next-door. read more

I almost hate to write a review because it's so good, I don't want to share! We asked for a recommendation from the scuba shop, Coastal Scuba and this place was highly recommended! Specialty cocktails and ambience started the evening. We felt like we were dining among family. I had heard that whatever the seafood special was, the chef or owner had likely caught that morning, so that's what I ordered. If you like food that has been meticulously made and artfully presented with more and interesting flavors than you ever thought possible, this should be your dinner reservation. Fun, more upscale restaurants in NMB right off King's Highway. I came here with my friend and his mom and we had a fabulous meal! They offer a nice cocktail list and have a full bar. We had the smoked peach (mine), the sidecar, and the french 75- all were terrific! For my meal I had the apple salad with nuts and the crab cake sandwich; this was one of the best crab cake sammys I've had! I will definitely be back! read more

Wow, what a find. Friends have been recommending this place for a while. We are from Pittsburgh but have a place down here. We have our usual favorites and this place, from the outside, never looked promising. Well don't judge a book!! First of all it's gorgeous inside. Small amount of seats with a beautiful bar. We made reservations but went early to have a drink. I had aa dirty martini and my friend a mojito. Both were spot on. I elected to sit outside. That was another unexpected treat. Beautiful view of the golf course with another great bar area. We had the crab cake dinner, which was huge! Two large crab cakes served on fried green tomatoes and 2 sides, potatoes and green beans. My friend is a light eater and literally couldn't stop herself from consuming everything. I opted for the fresh catch of the day which was served on a bed of risotto and came with two large shrimp on top of a nice portion of fish. We will definitely be back! Came for the steak but I got hesitant and got the pork chop because of the price. Well I couldn't be more glad I did. Best pork chop I've had in my life. Inside is beautiful but when I'm at the beach I want to sit outside and staring out at a golf course is a perfect setting for this open air bar. Considered one of the more fine dining options in SC; this place is nothing more than a small bar over glorified menu/ pictures and highly overpriced. Service was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. We came in on a Monday evening with no reservations but the wonderful and happy host seated us upstairs immediately. First of all, the outside is very unassuming but once inside, the modern lounge atmosphere and the fanciful decor blew me away. Our waitress came over immediately and asked if we would like to order some drinks. As we just got seated, we asked if she could come back after a few minutes. It wasn't an issue, she left to get us some water and came back a few minutes later to take our drink orders. They have a lot of cocktail options but I opted for a glass of Storypoint cabernet while my husband ordered a southern bourbon sour although I think it had a fancier, more creative name! He really enjoyed it but said he couldn't have more than one due to the prominent sour flavor. We decided to do some tapas to share as neither of us were extremely hungry. We shared an order of the wings, a charcuterie board, and an order of their deviled eggs. We enjoyed the food tremendously. The deviled eggs were prepared well and they were nested on some well-flavored egg yolks with a good balance of paprika and salt. No complaints about the charcuterie board. The selection of meats and cheeses were delicious and great for two people! It you have more than 2 people, you might want to order a second board or more menu items. The wings were very tasty with just enough spicy flavors from the Thai chili sauce. They also managed to keep them crispy despite being saucy which I absolutely loved! I could only eat 3 of them and my husband had the rest because I wanted to save room for dessert. They only had 2options for dessert:. Ooey gooey butter cake or chocolate cake. I opted for the chocolate cake because every time I hear ooey gooey, I think of the mounds of sugar that must go into making it which immediately turns me off. I'm not particularly into sweets but if you are, that option might be for you! The chocolate cake was fine. It came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. We shared it and still couldn't finish eating the whole slice. We sat and finished another round of drinks (my husband ordering a different cocktail called The Last Call -- it reminded us of Christmas, oddly) and enjoyed the ambiance a little longer. Overall, a successful dinner! Our waitress was lovely, the food were tasty, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I'm glad we came and tried this place out. So far, my favorite vacation meal! read more

Great establishment, however the gentleman that was at the front door was so engrossed on his phone he didn't say hello or for that matter even acknowledge us. Appetizers pimento cheese and bacon wrapped jalapeno shrimp were excellent too. My husband highly endorses the meatloaf sandwich. Loved the Southern Smoked Peach drink. I have to agree with the other 5 star ratings as this upscale establishment delivers on all aspects from the swank interior design to the great cocktails and food. Starting from the entrance you are transformed into a calming decadent atmosphere that is not over done or gaudy . The bar appearance is very unusual and worth the trip with a real comfortable bar seat that says stay awhile and indulge yourself. We had a couple of craft cocktails which were the Manhattan and French 75, both were excellent and had the I want another one taste! We had an app of scallops which was very good. The food menu is small but well appointed . I will go back for more food . The bartender Craig was excellent with major knowledge of liquor and drinks . Most of all he took the time to get to know his customers. All of staff were engaging and friendly. I'm glad to find this respite from the usual beach bar and restaurant. We were big fans of the Midtown Bistro, and were excited to try the new version of the restaurant. We were underwhelmed. Lighting was so dark that you couldn't read the menus, seating was uncomfortable, and attentiveness of our server was disappointing. Pasta was overcooked and risotto was undercooked. Filet was good, and the crab stuffed shrimp was too. Flavors were good, but preparation was lacking. My cocktail had so much sticky stuff on the outside of the glass that my fingers stuck together. The staff was talking loudly at the bar and had conversations that included profanity. We had hoped for WOW! And got So-So. Very disappointed. We won't be back. read more

We went here with our two friends last Friday, 1/31 for my birthday. We ordered the raspberry cream cheese stuffed jalapeño poppers and they were delicious. It was down hill from there..... My friend ordered surf and turf medium rare, it came almost well done and the surf did not come until 20 minutes later, 1 shrimp with a bit of crab stuffing. When the server came back, she did not know what to say to his complaint, and she walked away. His wife had the limoncello risotto with scallops, she said the scallops were good, but the risotto was barely warm. My wife had the lollipop lamb chops and they were just okay. I had the grouper special and the fish was very dry and my couscous was barely warm. Eventually when the server came back she said she could offer a free drink or free desert to my friend to compensate for his surf and turf dinner, his dinner was over $40 and the drink and or desert were about $14. I ordered the limoncello cake for desert and it was just okay, little flavor, my wife ordered the chocolate cake and the cake was way too dry and the whipped cream had a very strange after taste. If, and I say this hesitantly, I go back, we will just have appetizers and 1 drink. read more

We LOVED this bar...we loved it so much we stopped in 2 days in a row while staying in the area. Ashley who worked the bar outside is the sweetest .. fantastic service and she is a cocktail artist! The bar back (guy with hair that would make Fabio cry) was also great! We had several from the craft menu and all were delicious. Outstanding atmosphere, drinks, food, staff and the best part...SUPER clean bathrooms! Stop in a night they have live music! Favorite cocktail was the s'mores! On the food menu my pick was the burger- delicious! We shared the deviled eggs, burger, scallops and Hawaiian style poke tuna. For cocktails we ordered the Smoretini, Espressoyoself martini, vesper and side car. All were really good and totally different. read more

Wedge salad was buried in a mound of blue cheese dressing. Had to scrape it off. Husband liked the short rib. Maybe it's just typical of the South. But everything is over sauced, over fried and the most unhealthy dining I've seen. The menu did not offer me much. So I thought the wedge salad was safe. Had risotto side order. But it was sweet. They did not have Ang sparkling rose. Chose not to have anything. My husband had Savingion Blanc, too much grapefruit. He liked his Pinot noir. The bruschetta was ridiculous. Huge pieces of toasted bread. Not finger food for sure. Not a happy camper at this place. Server was sweet. I said the reservation was a birthday special occasion on the reservation but they never mentioned it. read more
