I really liked this tavern. They have a lot of Irish stuff (obviously!) and I got to try a Smithwick's (my aunt said it was probably what I'd order when we go to England). Quite tasty. The inside was cozy, but the outdoor seating was nice as well. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. We didn't go to the restaurant side but after looking at some of the food pictures on yelp, we may have to go back so we can eat there as well! read more

I am a big fan of the fish and chips and amazing cocktails. Great NYC pub atmosphere however, know if any of the NY sports are playing then nothing else on the TVs. Bartenders are attentive and provide excellent service. Well done! read more

Line was out the door so my family assumed it would be great food, don't fall for what we thought. We waited half an hour to get sat down and ignored for 20 minutes, got our order taken with an attitude, and the water tasted dirty as if it was scooped from a gutter. All the food we received was very small portions and cold. Waitresses then ignored us the rest of our meal and dropped the check to us quickly at the end. We had no interaction whatsoever during the meal. When we asked a question we were met with a snarky attitude by one of the workers which left a bad taste in our mouths, much like the food. We ended up going to another restaurant to actually get something filling to eat. Highly do not recommend. read more

We came here for the fish n chips. We only like cod fish for that and this place was the winner tonight. Over all our experience was excellent. Our servers was top notch, the decor made us feel like we were really in Ireland. Food was excellent, hubby loved the fish n chips and I decided to get their special: roast beast, horseradish mashed potatoes, snap peas. Many options for beers and ciders. We were looking for something different and came upon this gem. We were met at the front and immediately sat at a table. Lisa, our server came quickly and took our drink and appetizer order. She came back to take our order and was extremely knowledgeable. She helped us make a great decision on our orders. We got the fried potato chips as our appetizer and they were outstanding. My wife got the chicken pot pie and stated that it was the best thing she ate all week. I got the corned beef and cabbage, which was the special for the night. The cabbage was cooked perfectly and the corned beef was extremely tender and seasoned perfectly. We topped off the dinner with a wonderful bread pudding. Highly recommend Flynn's and if you go ask for Lisa, she is amazing. read more

Landed in town for an overnight en route to HHI. While some restaurants were closed (it's pre-season), Flynn's appeared to be hopping. It's obviously a magnet for locals. There was live music in the bar with limited seating. We got seated in the dining room. The host was exceptionally friendly, but not necessarily the case with our server. We got the feeling it didn't matter if we were there or not--since we were not locals. No offer of bread with dinner and very little attention paid. Food was plentiful but really just okay. Irish potato pancakes are just large tater tots smashed into circles. Meh. Meatloaf dinner was sturdy. Chicken pot pie was more of a loose soup. Fish and chips weren't very sexy. No one really checked back to refill drinks or offer dessert. As I said, we felt like a nuisance. We paid the bill and left. My dining companions would give this a 2-I'm upping it based on the friendly host. read more

This wasn't my first time to Flynn's but I have to say it was my best experience there. The waiter was very personable and attentive. We ordered the Shepards pie, fish and chips, chicken pot pie, bangers and mash and the Jameson chicken. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We even ordered some homemade key lime pie for dessert. I am not a fan of key lime pie but this was the best I've ever had. The menu choices and service will make us visit again soon. read more

Enjoyed an Irish meal tonight in North Myrtle Beach while visiting a friend... Pretty cool outdoor seating area that is open Thursdays through Saturdays with entertainment...will probably have to visit again on one of those days during another trip. Enjoyed a Smithwick's draft to start. Appetizers were absolutely delicious...we highly recommend ordering the Tavern Pretzel and Irish Egg Rolls ! Guinness Beef Stew...nothing like what we had in Ireland...was a little better after adding some salt and pepper...probably would not order again, but so many other items to try during future visits. read more

We went to this restaurant on St. Patrick's Day. Bad choice. Maybe another day we may give it a chance. Our server, Dawn was less than welcoming and downright inappropriate, rude and inconsiderate ! After sitting there for 10 minutes, she (Dawn) approached our table and said she will be right back another 10 minutes went by she finally she took our order. She came by a few minutes later, and threw the plastic silverware onto the table, hitting our friend in the elbow and startling her. Yes, she actually threw it on the table The food came out pretty quickly it was mediocre at best .But we were still waiting for our beverages. We were very thankful for Sadie. She came by and provided us with our beverages after making eye contact with our table and she was the shining star of the establishment. We can't thank Mike and Flynn's Irish Tavern enough! Our St. Patrick's Day event yesterday was a HUGE success thanks to Mike and his team. Our guests raved about the delicious food! They went back for seconds and even took to-go containers. The price Mike quoted us was amazing! Mike also made sure everything was packaged and ready to go on time for easy pick-up on our end. We made it back to our venue, had everything setup and ready to serve on time! No one said a negative word and didn't have any complaints whatsoever! This is what we ordered: 1. Corn Beef and Cabbage 2. Shepherd's Pie 3. Bangers and Mash 4. Corn Beef Sandwiches on Rye 5. Potato Pancakes 6. Reubin egg rolls 7. Wings 8. Key Lime & Carrott Cake It was ALL a hit! Dropped in for a Guinness on the way home from a Christmas show. The place is well decorated with all sorts of Irish memorabilia. They had live music, which was pretty good. Not many people for a Thursday night. It just gave me a sad, worn out vibe. Staff was ok but not overly friendly. My Guinness was $6 for a British pint, not bad. But the beer was old. Obviously a keg that has been tapped for a while. That happens when the tourist crowds leave. But, it was disappointing nonetheless. Menu looked ok but a lot of American bar food. Kitchen was closed a 8PM, so we couldn't try anything. Not sure at this point that I will be back. read more

I truly wanted to give this place 5 stars. This was my first time in North Myrtle and I got to pick where we ate on Thursday evening. The place was packed and I love Irish beer and pub food. 1. 5-stars for ambiance and live music. 2. Waiter was efficient but obviously overworked. He had 40-50 people to serve all by himself. 4 stars. 3. Irish pub right?---corned beef and cabbage --right? The Reuben sandwich I ordered was horrible. I make a killer reuben sandwich at home---you'd think they could too. It was a HORRIBLE mass of MINCED meat (i presumed corned beef--idk) and some sort of cheese BALLED UP (as if it came from an ice cream scoop) and placed in the middle of two pieces of toast. The meat was minced so small (not sliced or even chipped) that each tiny piece was about the size of half a grain of rice. No sauce of any kind on the sandwich--just dry toast.. My companions had fish and chips and shepherds pie which they enjoyed. I was so shocked by the taste and texture of the Reuben---but our waiter was so busy and away from us so much that I didn't tell him about it. Hostess was not overly friendly when we first arrived, so I just won't go back. The didn't mess up the draft beer, which was good. read more

We came here before the tourist season kicked in. Was asked if we had a reservation which we did not, but still got seated immediately. The dining area has a great decor with many Irish whiskey signs and bottle "boxes" and some Irish music softly playing in the background. It felt quite like we were in a pub just outside Dublin! We ordered the Irish Egg Rolls appetizer (corned beef and cabbage with a spicy thousand island dipping sauce). This came with two egg rolls cut in half. Very good! Corned beef was tender and generous as was the cabbage. For our entrees, my wife ordered Shepards Pie and I had Guinness Beef Stew. The Shepards Pie had a nice spice to the ground beef that gave it a flavor similar to sausage. It was a large portion that my wife couldn't finish so I had some to sample. The Guinness Beef Stew was delicious! Tender beef chunks with potatoes and carrots in a Guinness gravy. My wife ordered carrot cake for dessert and she really liked it. It was large enough for us both. I'm not a huge fan or carrot cake, but I really enjoyed it too. Very moist and not too rich. A great ending to our dinner. read more

Guiness pour was perfect. Had the crab dip for app. It kind of had a funky flavor. Took forever for our waiter to get back to us to order entrees. I'd say they need more seasonal help. Shepherds pie but was good but a bit on the bland side. I can see how they cater to the older crowd. Live but not too loud Irish music was a nice touch. We've been to Flynn's a few times but until now it was always to have a few beers and sit outside when the weather is nice. I made reservations for a table a day or two prior and we actually arrived about thirty minutes early expecting to have a beer or two at the bar before we were seated. Unfortunately, the bar area was packed and had no place to sit. I checked in with the hostess and she was able to seat us right away. I wasn't too happy with the table where we were seated because it was literally six or seven inches from the tables on the right and left. I'm not worried because of COVID, frankly I couldn't care less any longer but it felt like the other tables were part of our conversation. Next time we go, I'll definitely ask for a table against the wall when I make the reservation. So, I ordered Flynn's Famous Grouper with fries, and vegetable medley. Their entrees come with a soup or salad and I choose the She Crab Soup. My wife ordered the 8 oz Prime Rib which is a special on Friday nights. She choose the salad. Our soup and salad arrived before our drinks (typically we like to have a drink before dinner) but no big deal. Her salad was pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. My She Crab Soup had nice texture but the only component that had any flavor was the sherry. Underseasoned? I don't know, I'm not a chef. But suspect that was the issue. My wife wasn't all that impressed with the prime rib. She didn't think it was all that tender. The Flynn's Famous Grouper just wasn't my thing. The menu states that the grouper is topped with crab meat and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Now when I ordered it, my kicked in and said, "Ed, why are you ordering fish that has cheese on it?" Well, I figured that since it was parmesan cheese and it will be "sprinkled" over the fish and crab, it will just create a tasty crust. It created a crust but the crab became more like a crab cream and over a fish like grouper that has a mild flavor, the fish was lost in the crab cream and parmesan cheese. It wasn't cooked poorly, I just though it was too busy for grouper. I sure some people will love it so I'm not criticizing the cooking or even the recipe, but it just wasn't for me. So why four stars? Well, this is an awesome tavern. Great people working behind the bar and in the restaurant. I've also seen some of their other food coming out which I know I would enjoy. The burgers look fantastic. Their fish & chips (they may call it something else) look amazing. The atmosphere is just what you'd want from an Irish tavern close to the beach. I'm still a huge fan but I just wasn't for this dinner. My four star rating is based on all of my experiences at Flynn's. read more

We came in hungry and Flynn's definitely filled us up. Our server was informed on folks coming in from out of town. He sat us very quickly and helped us adjust our orders for gluten free. They didn't have a set menu but was able to inform and ask the kitchen what they could do. It all worked out well. The food had a big portion on the protein, which was beyond okay with us. The food was delicious. The service was great. If we are ever back, we know this is definite return. Great work Flynn's! read more
