I know reviews can make or break a small business, but I think this place could do a lot better. Located super-convenient in the Lake Arrowhead Village, this is the coffee spot. The positive was that the drip coffee I ordered was decent. Now for some feedback that will hopefully help the owners consider some changes. First, I ordered a drip coffee (2.95), and was asked "Would you like any cream?". I say "Sure, a splash" I see on the reciept that they charged $0.99 for a splash of cream. Yes, cream. At a coffee shop. For drip coffee. I asked if they in fact charge for cream, and the staff said "Yes" Another: There are at least a dozen handwritten signs everywhere telling us how we should (and shouldn't) conduct ourselves. "Don't put liquid in the trashcan", 3 paragraphs (at the register) on how we shouldn't ask for espresso over ice and milk for a poor man's latte, etc. What's with all the handwritten rules everywhere? The staff was notably cold and uninterested on our first visit. This kind of stuff takes what is normally a welcoming venue (cofee shop), and makes it feel adversarial and oppositional as a customer. Maybe they've become jaded by misbehaving or demanding customers over the years? This coffee shop may have fallen into the trap of thinking they sell coffee, when the real thing coffee shops provide is a hospitable experience, while someone is there buying a cup of coffee. read more

A bustling coffee shop in the Village. Not sure if it was so packed because it was a holiday weekend, but holy moly. It was pretty claustrophobic in there. There's no space to wait for your drink. Service was good, drinks were mediocre. My son got the strawberry smoothie and I found it to be overly sweet. It's made with syrup, so it's more like a slushy than a smoothie. They have a giant room with tables and chairs if you want to hang out but there is a lot of areas outside the shop to sit and take in the sights. I was excited to check out a local coffee shop, but this place was just OK. read more

Every time that I'm on vacation, I need a fix of local coffee / caffeine to perk up and start my day. During this past Memorial Day weekend, I was curious to try out The Tea & Coffee Exchange. I was quite surprised at the lukewarm Yelp reviews about this coffee shop because my experience was pleasant. People can really be that particular and selective about their coffee and beverages, which is fine because I get it. I ordered an iced mocha latte for my husband and an iced vanilla latte for myself. Service was generally good, but I am taking away one star because while my latte was enjoyable, it tasted a bit watery and warm even though it was supposed to be an iced beverage. I'll probably come back here if I'm in the area again but will explore and try out other local coffee shops. read more

We live in Lake Arrowhead part time and tried this coffee & tea shop for the first time to grab a smoothie. The shop was really charming and had such a cozy vibe; the aesthetics are lovely. I ordered a large strawberry banana smoothie and when they rang me up it was about $5 bucks! I told her they need to raise their prices because that is wildly cheap compared to all the other smoothie places I frequent! The smoothie was fabulous and hit the spot. There is outdoor seating that has a heavenly view. Great service, too! read more

The coffee I got was fine it's just the service that was horrible. All the workers there are very rude and all have AirPods in even when taking your order, personally I don't care but when I was ordering the girl was talking very softly and almost muttering and I had to ask her to repeat it many times. I still don't know whatever she said and after that happened she ran to the back and started staring at me and laughing? I really don't think I did anything wrong I was just trying to understand her because she was literally whispering to me and I think it was because of the AirPods. The coffee is fine but the workers really need to improve their attitude. read more

There aren't a lot of highly rated places to eat in the village so we just went for this bakery that was cute and homey inside. We got the mango peach smoothie and the blueberry cream cheese croissant. The croissant was more like a danish and tasted like one that you could just buy at a store and heat up. For the smoothie, I liked how we were able to mix flavors, however towards the end the smoothie just got way too sweet. As for service, we got our smoothies at a decent time, however we waited probably over 15 minutes just for them to heat up our croissants. After we had gotten our drinks and waited a while, we went up to ask the workers if our croissants were ready. Both times, they told us they would check but never got back to us. When we asked the third time, one of the workers opened the microwave and pulled out one of the croissants. Apparently, it had been just sitting in the microwave and the bag got pretty oily. The worker wasn't apologetic at all, and we were a bit surprised that their "reheating" just meant the microwave instead of like an oven. If we had known, we might as well not have had it reheated, especially after that insanely long wait. read more

We came in on Saturday while we were walking the little shops. The staff were friendly, the store was clean. My only complaint is my coffee tasted so watered down, I could not finish it. We usually love this spot but service this morning was awful. The woman working told me they weren't doing food and I expressed what a bummer that was and how I was looking forward to it but that I totally understand. I was only going to order one sandwich. The next orders after me got their food order taken though. A woman ordered 4 sandwiches with no problem at all. She said it was because they were backed up. When I asked if I could just put a quick order in since they were doing it again she said It would have to be okay with everyone in line. So I just decided to leave at that point. The coffee shop was ok. We just ordered a coffee and a matcha. Got 2 large drinks, for $12. Coming from Los Angeles, this was unheard of where usually one cup of coffee runs $9. There was a selection of interesting flavored syrups and tea lattes. I opted for a matcha and unfortunately it was a muddy green which indicated poor quality matcha. First time here during my many trips to Arrowhead and honestly it was better than I expected! I saw the reviews so I was unsure but the staff were very friendly while also being transparent about the wait times. This wasn't a problem at all since we just walked around in the meantime; you could also just chill in the coffee place since it's very nice. We walked in, a young blonde girl with an attitude and chewing gum with her mouth wide open was at the register. I'm with a group so I'm standing at an angle. I politely asked if they have cold brew and she grabs the sign (again out of my line of sight) and points to it. I ordered an iced latte and inquired upon milk options, she points to the menu (still loudly chewing the gum) and says "so the options are up there". I ask for nonfat, she goes we don't have any. So I ask well what do you have, she again points to the menu. I said: it's on the menu and you don't have it so what do you have?! Rudely starts reading the milk options. So this is about location and it's right in the Village and there are not a lot of options for coffee. Cute decor inside. Slight line when we were here in the fall. A lot of the places didn't open till 10am. I opted for the white pumpkin latte less sweet. It was still sweet. But oh well. The coffee mix was good. I do wish they made their own syrups, which is something I look for now. It was good though. This is actually the first time I've ever felt the need to leave a review because my experience was so disappointing, and unfortunately it has happened multiple times. The young brunette employee working today was very unfriendly. She didn't greet me when I walked in, and there was no interaction at all, even when I asked a simple question. I stood at the register for about five minutes while she continued cleaning and completely ignored me. The shop didn't close until 6:00 p.m., and I arrived before 5:30 p.m., so there was still plenty of time to take my order. Instead, I felt like I was being intentionally ignored. She never smiled, acknowledged me, or made any effort to provide basic customer service. I've visited before on a separate occasion, and she behaved the exact same way then as well. I didn't catch her name, but she was a young brunette female. I hope management addresses this because it creates a very unwelcoming atmosphere and doesn't reflect the level of service customers should expect. I ended up leaving without ordering because the service was that terrible. read more

Love this little gem up by the lake! Service was good, staff super friendly and very quick getting rid of the line. Coffee itself, mine was not that great but it did give me the caffeine still so it was aiight. My daughter liked hers. Pastries were delicious, those I did enjoy! This little spot has SO much potential. Sadly, the coffee and the service is mediocre. Anytime I have visited, the staff is so unhappy and unwelcoming. I was there on Tuesday afternoon - nobody in line - but the girl at the counter didn't greet us. After looking at the pastries, we went up to the counter to order without a "hello, how's it going" or anything. When we grabbed our coffee from the barista, she mentioned she may have mixed up the milk on the orders and to let her know and she'd fix it. We ordered a latte, cappuccino, and the blueberry cheese croissant. The croissant was yummy, and the coffee was just okay (no designs either). Cute coffee spot! They have lots of baked goodies. I had to try something from the case. I got a lemon blueberry bar and my friend got a croissant. Both were good! The lemon blueberry bar is sort of mushy. I wasn't ready for that consistency. It had good flavor though. My friend enjoyed her croissant. 10/10 For drinks, we both got hot chocolates. I got a hot chocolate with oat milk and no whip cream. It was delightful. Perfect since it was a rainy day and super cold on the mountain. 10/10 read more

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The coffee wasn't good, and the egg bite I ordered was rock solid--so hard it was basically inedible. When I politely asked if I could exchange it or get a fresh one, the employee's response was that they would just put it in the microwave. That wasn't really an acceptable solution, especially since it seemed like the food had been sitting out for a long time. On top of that, the employee was very rude throughout the interaction and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by bringing up a legitimate issue. Ruth greeted us as we walked in and was so professional and a very excellent employee. We ordered two panini sandwiches with real turkey and pesto and artichoke hearts our favorite. The quality and taste in the lattes here is amazzinggg!! I absolutely loved their Lavender Earl Grey and London Fog with oat milk. I highly recommend their spicy chicken panini and their breakfast croissant! I plan on coming back here on every lake arrowhead camping trip! read more

Honestly worst costumer service i've experienced in a while. As I go to order the girl didn't even great nor welcome anything just a straight face with saying nothing. It felt incredibly rude and whilst waiting for my order I got at least 3 dirty looks from each employee. maybe advice them to seem welcoming especially in a coffee shop. Good tea. Service was excellent. The baristas were all smiles and friendly. They call the order when it's ready, so they don't ask for names. Good seats inside. They have leather sofa chairs in the back. A few outlets are scattered around, and they do work. WiFi is free. The password is by the cashier. Credit card/apple pay accepted.
