For starters, we were told this place was the best in the area and we took the trip from LA. The best thing about it, was the drive and the trains. The food was bland. They literally have seasonings on the table to season your own food to your own risk. Try each seasoning before you put it on your food so you pick the right one. I almost added salt seasoning to my waffles. Hot coco was made with pre mix and water. Kudos with the sprinkles. I expected the waffle to have flavor, but no. I was wrong too. For almost $80, I expected more. Staff was very nice and polite. The runners were teenage kids probably from the local HS and we were in between servers because of their breaks. The dining area was cute. A lot of vintage plates. I would not go back or recommend.

Had a party of 8 for a Sunday brunch and we got seated within 20 minutes of putting our names on the waitlist! We sat outside, but the heaters kept us warm. Food came out fast after ordering, and staff was attentive and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meal and portions were generous with reasonable pricing. Highly recommend any of their waffles!! This place is probably one of the top 3 eateries to grab an enjoyable brunch in Arrowhead.

Came the other day for breakfast, there is seating inside but we decided to sit in the nice patio over looking the lake. It was very pleasant with the view. Got the Belgian breakfast, everything was good! Eggs were cooked well, bacon was crisp, potato's were delicious and the waffle was tasty! Service was fine, nothing extraordinary nor terrible either. Just good. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and want a good bite and view for breakfast

Good breakfast, service was great ambiance is a little crowded I felt like I was sitting with the table behind me. There are long wait times so it's best to put your name in the Que before walking around the plaza. It's your basic breakfast no big thrills but good

Belgian Waffle Works is a superbly located brunch location on the shores of Lake Arrowhead offering great waffles at a reasonable price. My daughter and I swung by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly. Not especially hungry we shared the Apple Annie Waffle ($15.50) a homemade waffle with cinnamon apples, cinnamon ice cream, whipped cream, nuts, and raisins, a treat as decadent as you might expect. The waffle was soft but tragically small, the apples good but not phenomenal, and ice cream decent. I suspect the only home made component here was the waffle. Accompanying this was a bowl of Chili ($10) which was decent, meaty, with a touch of spice. Doubt this was home made either, but was good. Service was friendly and very prompt, with us getting our meal in less than five minutes. View is excellent with a perfectly positioned patio overlooking the lake. Valued, as stated above, were reasonable but not exceptional. Taken together, Belgian Waffle Works is a decent place for a very fast, home-made waffle (only) in an excellent location. Little breakfast with 7 grain waffle. Add whip, banana.

Great place! Staff were friendly and attentive. My table was by the window and I had a beautiful view of the lake. I ordered a the little breakfast with 7 grain breakfast, eggs and fruit. It was a perfect place to stop and have breakfast before a beautiful day at the lake!

It was very cold on this particular day

What an incredible performance by the Belgian Waffle Works Cast. After a cold and beautiful walk, I approached the Belgian Waffle Works spot. Right next to a beautiful ducks with trees and water too. May I also add that it was cold. Moving on, I discovered that they served waffles when I first skimmed the menu; what a pleasant surprise! I ordered Belgian waffle platter. To my surprise, the Belgian Waffle Works Cast appeared in front of me and Jessica Vosk began leading the opening number of the morning. It was incredible. After a thundering round of applause, my food appeared in front of me. Wow. Overwhelmed, I took a bite, then another, then another, then another, then another; after a while I had taken approximately 48 bites of my food. Getting back on track, it was very cold outside on this particular day. In summary, there was no musical performance. I don't know why anyone would say this. But the waffles and opening number was fantastic

This eatery is located in Arrowhead Village and has both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter right along the lake. Avoid any confusion with seating by going inside first (rather than seating yourself on the patio), where you will be asked your preference (inside or out) and will then be escorted to a table. Virginia was our waitress, handling the entire patio, and doing a superb job of taking orders, delivering food, checking on tables, and generally making every customer happy. While this is primarily a breakfast place, we came for lunch. They offer soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch. I decided on a BLT and chose to have it on rye bread along with waffle fries. We also ordered a cobb salad to share. The BLT had toasted bread and crispy bacon. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. It was delicious but nothing extraordinary - it was standard but done to perfection. The waffle fries were really good, and while they had ketchup on the table, I instead used the ranch dressing that came with the cobb salad to dip them in. Speaking of the salad, it had bits of chicken, bacon, and ham along with olives, lettuce, tomato, crumbled blue cheese, and hard boiled egg. It was quite good and we were provided with two separate plates to share it more easily. It was a filling meal and I waddled out of there more than satisfied. Other than that, I hope to return someday to actually have a Belgian Waffle at a place called the Belgian Waffle Works.

Came in on a Monday morning and it was slightly busy. I waited around 15-20 minutes to get a table. We had our dog with us so we sat in the patio. Despite the heat, the patio had a pretty great view of the lake. I would recommend people eat out there even if they don't have a dog. My party ordered the Strawberry-Banana Royal and I got the Belgian Scrambled for myself. The Strawberry-Banana Royal was solid, just like most of the waffles I've had in my life. The Belgian Scrambled was pretty okay, though I've had better brunch plates. I can only compare it to the second installment of the Karate Kid franchise. It wasn't a bad movie, though I know I've seen better because the first Karate Kid really set the bar. Best believe I still finished it, though. Solid place to try out. Though I would probably try the Country Breakfast next time.

We had such a great experience at Belgian Waffle Works!! We came in early on a Sunday morning and had the entire patio with our pup to ourselves. Not only does this place have great views of the water, but incredible breakfast! We both got the scramble, which was huge, so filling, and so yummy. We both got extra crispy potatoes and I couldn't stop talking about how good the potatoes were. We also got a side waffle - and wow. This place doesn't mess around with the waffle. It even came with a side of melted butter, which we had never seen and loved!! Service was incredible. Even though we were the only guests on the patio, they came and checked on us multiple times. We had the best breakfast here and the best time. Will definitely be back next time we visit Arrowhead.

What a wonderful breakfast experience! We visited this charming breakfast spot in Lake Arrowhead and were truly impressed. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely perfect, beautifully presented, rich and creamy hollandaise, perfectly poached eggs, and fresh, flavorful ingredients. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was fast and attentive. It felt like a true mountain-town gem, the kind of place that makes your morning special. If you're in Lake Arrowhead and looking for an unforgettable breakfast, this place is a must-visit. We will definitely be coming back again and again! Highly recommended!

Kids menu egg breakfast: for 10 bucks you get what looks to be three eggs if you do scrambled, choice of either sausage or bacon and a good size Belgian waffle with powdered sugar and syrup on the side. Syrup comes warm and it is sticky! Went over very well with my toddler 5/5 Belgian breakfast: two eggs anyway, I got them poached, comes with sausage or bacon and Homestyle potatoes with a waffle. Also comes with a cup of warm butter and warm syrup on the side. Everything excellent! Potatoes were solid and I did not expect them to be. They really know how to do a waffle at this place. 5/5 Mud pie belgian: this is not really for adults. It was so insanely sweet. The ice cream is not fabulous quality it's just a bigsugary mess. However if I were still a kid I would have loved it! 3/5 Coffee is unlimited and they come around to fill your coffee and waterfrequently. The service is super fast and friendly. The only knock on the place is probably the ambiance since it's a little beat up on the inside, but I came here for the food and I got what I came for! You also have a nice View either from the patio or inside, where we sat.

    Biscuits and gravy full order

A no brainer brunch spot for out of towners enjoying the weekend in Lake Arrowhead. No wait and everything came out incredibly fast. The chicken and waffles were yummy but you never want to see tendies instead of good old fashioned fried chicken as part of your chicken and waffles. Biscuits and gravy were good too. Spices in the white gravy were nice and the biscuit was thick and very soft.

We came on a sunday at 11pm, so felt like there were minimal serving staff, so food took longer than expected, but the serving staff was very nice, and attentive. Service, environment, cleanliness, cute holiday decorations, sports on TV, 4.5 out of 5 Food was more of a 3, best thing we got was the Poke nachos, loved the fried wonton chips, nice cuts of tuna, great toppings. regular fries and parmesan fries were good, standard restaurant fries Philly cheese steak was ok, meat was good, bread was too thick and chewie. Burger was ok, average meat and bread. Fish and chips were ok, nice crisp, batter not too dense, needed seasoning, very plain. Chicken wings were ok, little dry, not too much flavor. Cool for groups, lots of alcohol options, good kid options, food was average. I would come back if I was in the area, and had a large group, and wanted alcohol. Dragon egg, neutral.

Stopped in from West LA for a late dinner during this most recent Valentine's Day & President's Day…read morelong weekend and it was honestly better than we were expecting. It's located on the ground floor of an Inn of the same name. It has an old timey, alpine look to it which really adds to the ambiance. They have a full bar, as well as booths, tables, and covered patio seating. It's pretty large inside so can host large groups as well. Our server was very sweet and all of our items arrived quickly. They don't have a very large menu, but it does have a lot of great options on it, especially for over 5000 feet above sea level. I chose one of the specials for the night which was the Black Cod. It was honestly great, cooked perfectly, and a fair portion. I enjoyed every part of it and would recommend. I also started off with the French Onion Soup and that too was great, it was a bit saltier than most versions I have back home, but still I liked it. We also ordered the Cobb Salad which was generous in portions, and we both really liked it. I was not a very big fan of the French Fries, that was the only downside of the meal. I had tried another restaurant in the past, but wanted something different. Also, let's face it, around Lake Arrowhead only, there aren't many restaurants to choose from. The rest is all fast food. I was coming from a couple of hours away and obviously wanted to make sure I had a place to have Thanksgiving dinner. Therefore, as far as rating this restaurant for its regular food, I can't do that because I went for Thanksgiving dinner only. My experience as sadly as it is to say was literally the worst I've ever had, not been mean even if it sounds that way, but it is a true statement and it doesn't make me happy to say it, but reality hurts sometimes. We walked in and I can only say, it wasn't what I would normally agree to go to, not terrible but not impressive either. Casual for sure, boots and a cowboy hat if you have it, will do the trick. We were seated right next to the bar, this is NOT a huge place to begin with, so the noise from the bar was not pleasant to begin with. We sat down and a waiter came over, he was nice at first, the menus were not given out because it was strictly Thanksgiving dinner and the copy paper already waiting for you on the table pretty much told you what you were getting. Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey/ham combo or only turkey with all its trimming that you normally eat on Thanksgiving, which it was easy to order obviously, didn't make the waiter sweat either. We told him combo for both of us. I am not kidding when I tell you that not even 5 minutes later, the dishes came to our table. I was still taking my jacket off. I get it that everything had to be ready to go and prepared to make it fast and all, but that immediately turned me off. The food itself aside from being cold, not one thing on that plate was even warm, the presentation was absolutely awful, I still say and believe that had I gone to Dennys, they probably would have done a much better job and not charge $40 dollars a plate and already added 20% tip to it either. The food literally looked nothing like you would expect from a restaurant like this. It wasn't a dump!!! It wasn't attractive to me, but it was a restaurant, nevertheless. That food was simply disgusting. The plate came filled with everything that looked store bought from their not even market but like a 7/11 in the city. Filled with disgusting and totally salty gravy, not homemade of course, and it was which it wasn't, the chef or cook had a lot of fun with the salt or dropped it in it by mistake, that's how salty it was. The mashed potatoes awful, cold, not soft, have no idea what was in it, came in a made round ball, by the way everything on one plate, ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, a tiny bit of greens, wherever those two tiny balls of orange things were, a tiny bit of cranberry in a tiny plastic container, a small piece of bread. All just thrown on this plate that honestly made me sick to even look at it. Been Thanksgiving and all, we waited to eat knowing it was going to be quite a bit of food, so we were hungry. My girlfriend literally couldn't eat it. She had a bit of the turkey while trying to find it underneath all that disgusting gravy and she said that it was the only thing that tasted ok, the ham was just as bad as the rest of the stuff on top of it. She literally had three bites of it, that was it. I had more because I was hungry and there was no other place to go unless we wanted to go to McDonald which after that meal, would have been a much better choice and a lot cheaper. My girlfriend had no dinner basically and I had what I was able to eat, but it was just bad. To top it off, came the pie. Now, my girlfriend loves pumpkin pie, I do as well, she makes the best pie from scratch. Two pumpkin pies came. Again, what on earth were those pies, we still discussing it, how can you go wrong with pumpkin pies, well, this place managed to do so. We even asked them what on earth these pies were and the waiter simply said "it's pumpkin pie", no it's not we clearly said back, but he just kept saying it was and that was it. We both couldn't eat it and left it. No one ever came around through our dinner to ask if everything was ok, no one asked us if we needed more to drink, nothing. $115 dollars. The tip was already included as I mentioned that it clearly said on the menu at the end of it that 20% was going to be included. This dinner was worth and only if you were totally desperate, $10 dollars a plate MAX. The waiter did not deserve his tip as he did nothing for it, the only time we saw him was of course to bring us the check. Worst experience ever, never again at this place, I don't even think I would take a chance on their regular menu after this.

Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole breakfast even more enjoyable. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was incredibly fresh, delicious, and came out quickly. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Everything we ordered was amazing, we came TWICE during our 2 day trip. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food. We will definitely be coming back. If you get Cameron as your waiter, you're in great hands!

Check this place out if you are in the area!!…read more We arrived in the area a few hours before this business closed for the day and we were hungry. We figured a nice deli would be a good spot for lunch. At first, we weren't sure if the business was already closed for the day because all of the tables outside were already put away and the windows looked dark. We walked in and it was almost full. There are many typical options from the deli shop such as sandwiches, salads, soups, half and half combos, etc. There were also specials on the wall such as spaghetti. Steven ordered the BLT with Mac salad (the bacon looked nice and crispy, which is perfect) and I had the half soup and half sandwich. I ordered split pea soup which ended up being full of flavor and delicious. You only get three sandwich options of you do the half and half. (I forgot what the other two were) But I had the cold turkey. I didn't expect much from a cold turkey sandwich but I was impressed. It tasted fresh and delicious. The staff was great. They are all constantly helping each other and the gentleman who was helping serve had me chuckling numerous times with silly jokes or comments. I would definitely come back here if I'm back in the area.

When it comes to burgers, this place came to play hard ball! They serve up 1/3 lb Angus beef that is absolutely tasty! I had the "Hudson Hornet" - a mushroom & Swiss burger with all the fix'ns. Dripping with deliciousness! The grilled onions really complete the burger (comes with). All of their burgers look great! My son had the Chevy Impala - a bacon cheeseburger with their awesome onion rings and bbq sauce. A MUST have at the Cedar Glen Malt Shop is their ice cream! They use THRIFTY's Ice cream!! Whether you go for their shakes, malts, reg ice cream or go big and get their Banana Royale (I did) or the banana split, you won't be disappointed or hungry! Another note worth mentioning, they offer a gracious Military discount. Just ask. Parking can be difficult to find especially right when they open. I've noticed people pretty much park wherever they can. This place is also very popular with the locals. Thank you Audrey & Candy for the great experience! The staff their love their job and it shows!! Happy 80th Anniversary Cedar Glen Malt Shop, I wish you guys many, many more wonderful years serving some of the best 50's Diner food around! I'll be seeing you soon!

We had a mini vacation in Lake Arrowhead, and this business was one that I was looking forward to…read more Why? A tasty thick malt sounded amazing, especially if the business is kind of known for it with many options. I had not had a malt in so long. I kept wondering when we could find a window to squeeze this in. We finally walked a mile over from where we stayed (a lot of this was uphill so that was rough for me) and we plopped down, ready for our malts. I ordered a rocky road malt and Steven ordered a chocolate chip malt. The server was surprised at the easy order she received as we did not order any food or anything. Yet, it still took some time. Finally the malts arrived, but unfortunately we were left so disappointed. Malts are supposed to be thicker than shakes, but these drinks were pretty much just melted ice cream. So, we are not sure if the orders were placed as shakes and still much more melted than other shake shops, or what happened. I felt like I was drinking melted ice cream with a spoon. Once I got through my glass, I didn't bother trying to pour more from my metal cup into the regular cup. I just started scooping from the extra stainless steel cup, hoping to save some thicker portions in there. There were a few, but not a lot. Since I was expecting a thick malt or something thicker than liquid ice cream, I devoured it pretty fast and now had a tummy ache. We tried it, but it didn't work out for us.

Our waiter could not have been nicer. I wish I could remember his name. He was so kind and eager to make our visit a good one. We started with the deep fried mushrooms which were good, but a little too heavily battered for my taste. They came with 2 dipping sauces, a spicy aoli style and an Asian chili sauce (sweet). I had the grilled salmon with lemon caper sauce. It came with your choice of 2 sides. I got the fully loaded baked potato and steamed vegetables. My meal was delicious and a large serving that I could not finish. Good value at $24. My husband got the ribeye with herb roasted potatoes and a salad. The salad was large and fresh with plenty of carrots and tomatoes. The herb roasted potatoes were delicious, but I would definitely get the fully loaded baked potato again. My husband said his ribeye was delicious and cooked exactly as he asked (medium). I had a martini which was a generous pour and the bartender even hand-stuffed some olives with blue cheese for me which was really kind as the bar was quite busy. The atmosphere was great - filled with people enjoying themselves dining, talking, and laughing. Restrooms were spacious and clean. My only complaint was that the seats were hard wood. It would be nice to have cushions of some sort, but that won't stop us from coming back for the good food & drinks, and great service at lake arrowhead sports grill and bar!
