I want to start off by saying that this review does not apply to the experience we had with our server, Abraham. Abraham was very nice and truly made up for the experience we had. Someone in our party checked us in by using the kiosks. When we noticed everyone else was getting seated we asked the front desk about our place in line. Front desk staff rudely told us, "You haven't talked to me." She followed up with multiple eye rolls . She was also very upset over the fact that we requested for our party to be seated together. Another server was upset about the fact that we asked a simple question. She also rolled her eyes and nodded as a response. I recommend to avoid this place if you do not want to deal with attitudes. Waffle was nice and light, bacon was crispy, eggs cooked over easy, as ordered. Our two friends ordered from opposite ends of the spectrum. He got the Mountain Breakfast, which is a tremendous amount of food. Eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, potatoes, etc. I'm not sure how he finished it. She got just a single waffle. But she enjoyed it. Finally, I went rogue, skipped breakfast and got the Reuben and Onion Rings. It was a sloppy sandwich but had plenty of corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss. Very tasy. The onion rings were better than I expected, lightly battered and crunchy. Also got a Bloody Mary here, which was nowhere near as good as the ones at Jetties. I'm giving two stars instead of one because they are dog friendly-which was the only reason we chose this restaurant as we came in with our dogs. Absolutely no for thought is made when seating people with dogs, guests with dogs are seated at tables in the middle of walkways, and no thought is made about placing dogs next to other tables with dogs or very young children without any thought or forewarning. Service was meh. Our waitress was abrupt and and not at all welcoming or friendly. Ordered iced coffee and it was as light as tea. Negative experience here and honestly really disappointed. My husband and I came here for breakfast before heading home from our Memorial Day weekend trip. We wanted to end our trip on a good note and were excited since we both love waffles. We also brought our dog, and from first glance, the restaurant looked very dog-friendly with the outdoor patio setup. When my husband checked us in, he specifically mentioned that we had a dog. Usually when restaurants accommodate dogs, they'll seat you somewhere slightly out of the main walkway so you're not in the way of servers or guests. Instead, we were seated directly in the middle of the main path where servers and customers were constantly walking by. We thought it was odd, but trusted their judgment and stayed there. Not even 5 minutes later, another family walked in with a much larger dog. Naturally, the dogs acknowledged each other and barked briefly. Our dog is tiny and only barked back in response after the other dog initiated it. During that moment, one of the servers walked by, glared at us, and said, "That's not gonna work out." The tone and attitude immediately rubbed us the wrong way, especially considering THEY seated us there in the first place. Another server then told us we needed to move to a table in the very back corner after we had already ordered and settled in. Honestly, that should've been the original seating arrangement from the start, but we still cooperated because we didn't want to cause issues or block traffic. Unfortunately, the service only got worse after that. The dogs around us kept barking at our dog, and we were genuinely just trying to sit down, calm him, and eat our breakfast peacefully. What frustrated me most was that it felt like ONLY we were being singled out for the dogs reacting to each other. Other dogs around us were barking too, yet we were the only ones getting attitude, comments, and constant corrections from the staff. While we were sitting down at the new table, my husband was adjusting our dog's collar before setting him down, and almost immediately a server came over telling us to "put the dog down" despite the fact that we were already in the middle of doing that. At that point, the constant attitude started making us feel genuinely unwelcome. Then the food came out and unfortunately it didn't redeem the experience at all. The Belgian waffles themselves were disappointing and had a strangely grainy texture that neither of us enjoyed. EXTREMELY BLAND! What really sealed the experience for us though was the service afterward. Nobody checked on our table even once. During the table switch, I accidentally dropped utensils and multiple servers saw it happen but nobody offered replacements. We were seated all the way in the back corner and it honestly felt like we were intentionally being ignored after being moved. My husband repeatedly tried to flag servers down, but nobody acknowledged us. Meanwhile, we watched nearby tables receive normal service. Eventually he had to walk up to the counter himself just to pay because nobody would come to our table. As we were literally leaving the restaurant, our server finally approached us and rudely asked, "Did you guys even pay yet or...?" in a tone that felt accusatory, as if we were attempting to dine and dash. My husband had already paid at the counter and held up the receipt. Overall, this experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing final morning of our trip. We also ordered a cobb salad to share. The BLT had toasted bread and crispy bacon. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. It was delicious but nothing extraordinary - it was standard but done to perfection. The waffle fries were really good, and while they had ketchup on the table, I instead used the ranch dressing that came with the cobb salad to dip them in. Despite the heat, the patio had a pretty great view of the lake. I would recommend people eat out there even if they don't have a dog. We came here on a Sunday morning around 8am when it just opened, so it wasn't crowded at all. It's located in the Lake Arrowhead Village, overlooking the lake. Their breakfast menu has a large variety, so if you're not feeling waffles, you'll be able to find a dish that you'll like. The service was fast and the waffles were the best part. Definitely could not finish them and had to take some for to go Ambiance: honestly, this is what makes the place 4 stars instead of 3 stars. We got to sit out in the patio area, overlooking the beautiful Lake Arrowhead, and had a great time enjoying the view and chichatting along. Definitely would come here again, not for the food, but for the vibes. Service: good, did not have issues ordering our food, getting them served, refilling out water cups, or paying for our meals, along with much needed to go boxes Parking: there is a big parking lot associated with Lake Arrowhead Village itself. Even thought it looks deceptively big, there are a lot of cars even on a weekday time, and we had to circle around a couple times before finding a spot. read more
