    The Little Breakfast
    Ryan M.

Whenever we visit the mountain, this is a solid breakfast choice. We've been coming for years, so...time for a review! The ambiance is old-fashioned, in a good way. Vintage dinnerware adorns the walls, the curtains are straight out of grandma's house. You get the vibe! It was Memorial Day weekend, so there was a bit of a wait to be seated, about 30 minutes. We killed the time by getting some excellent Bloody Marys at Jetties, just a few steps away. After being seated, the service was super fast. We got our food maybe 10 minutes after ordering, and the place was packed. The kitchen was really hustling. Food: Wife got the Little Breakfast, as usual. Waffle was nice and light, bacon was crispy, eggs cooked over easy, as ordered. Our two friends ordered from opposite ends of the spectrum. He got the Mountain Breakfast, which is a tremendous amount of food. Eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, potatoes, etc. I'm not sure how he finished it. She got just a single waffle. But she enjoyed it. Finally, I went rogue, skipped breakfast and got the Reuben and Onion Rings. It was a sloppy sandwich but had plenty of corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss. Very tasy. The onion rings were better than I expected, lightly battered and crunchy. Also got a Bloody Mary here, which was nowhere near as good as the ones at Jetties. But the Waffle Works doesn't use real vodka, so I kind of expected that. In the end, a good time and satisfying meal. A ding for the crowdedness and value, and it's good food--not great. A little over $100 for the four of us, which is more than I like to spend for breakfast. But still, we will be back!

Burnt potatoes a unripe tomatoes for pico de gallo

Second time eating here, first time had the Reuben was the worst I've ever had...Today had chicken and waffles, the waffle was alright, but the chicken batter was over fried and too salty. My wife and I ordered a coke which was flat, we asked for a replacement of sprite no questions asked however that was also flat. Lastly I decided to add a picture of my wife's burnt potatoes and the pico de gallo wasn't fresh the workers in the back were blasting Mexican corridos and the servers all appeared young we didn't receive a refill until it was requested, some of the servers were just socializing by the restrooms. Overall food was the issue today.

For starters, we were told this place was the best in the area and we took the trip from LA. The best thing about it, was the drive and the trains. The food was bland. They literally have seasonings on the table to season your own food to your own risk. Try each seasoning before you put it on your food so you pick the right one. I almost added salt seasoning to my waffles. Hot coco was made with pre mix and water. Kudos with the sprinkles. I expected the waffle to have flavor, but no. I was wrong too. For almost $80, I expected more. Staff was very nice and polite. The runners were teenage kids probably from the local HS and we were in between servers because of their breaks. The dining area was cute. A lot of vintage plates. I would not go back or recommend.

This was the first time I have been to Lake Arrowhead and my GF besties, and I decided to try out Belgian Waffle Works for lunch. The atmosphere and the food was delish. I enjoyed my Reuben sandwich which came with a side of homemade coleslaw ! Yum ! $16.50 which was not bad considering every thing is expensive now a days $3.25 for a Diet Coke with refills. I was hungry so all gone ! The bathroom was scary per my friend who went in and walked right out. If u know what I mean. The restaurant was pretty full so I don't think there was anyone to service the bathroom. The server was friendly and helpful. Great place for lunch & breakfast ! Highly recommend for the food service & atmosphere.

Had a party of 8 for a Sunday brunch and we got seated within 20 minutes of putting our names on the waitlist! We sat outside, but the heaters kept us warm. Food came out fast after ordering, and staff was attentive and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meal and portions were generous with reasonable pricing. Highly recommend any of their waffles!! This place is probably one of the top 3 eateries to grab an enjoyable brunch in Arrowhead.

Came the other day for breakfast, there is seating inside but we decided to sit in the nice patio over looking the lake. It was very pleasant with the view. Got the Belgian breakfast, everything was good! Eggs were cooked well, bacon was crisp, potato's were delicious and the waffle was tasty! Service was fine, nothing extraordinary nor terrible either. Just good. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and want a good bite and view for breakfast

    Hot Apple Annie

Belgian Waffle Works is a superbly located brunch location on the shores of Lake Arrowhead offering great waffles at a reasonable price. My daughter and I swung by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated quickly. Not especially hungry we shared the Apple Annie Waffle ($15.50) a homemade waffle with cinnamon apples, cinnamon ice cream, whipped cream, nuts, and raisins, a treat as decadent as you might expect. The waffle was soft but tragically small, the apples good but not phenomenal, and ice cream decent. I suspect the only home made component here was the waffle. Accompanying this was a bowl of Chili ($10) which was decent, meaty, with a touch of spice. Doubt this was home made either, but was good. Service was friendly and very prompt, with us getting our meal in less than five minutes. View is excellent with a perfectly positioned patio overlooking the lake. Valued, as stated above, were reasonable but not exceptional. Taken together, Belgian Waffle Works is a decent place for a very fast, home-made waffle (only) in an excellent location. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Value: 4/5

I came here before and loved the food, but my second visit was a huge letdown. Arriving at 8:40 AM, I expected fresh breakfast, but the food was cold and the potatoes tasted old. The service was equally disappointing--no one checked on me for refills, and by the time I managed to flag down our server, I was already done eating. The atmosphere and view are wonderful, but next time I'll honestly just grab McDonald's next door

Good breakfast, service was great ambiance is a little crowded I felt like I was sitting with the table behind me. There are long wait times so it's best to put your name in the Que before walking around the plaza. It's your basic breakfast no big thrills but good

    cobb salad

This eatery is located in Arrowhead Village and has both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter right along the lake. Avoid any confusion with seating by going inside first (rather than seating yourself on the patio), where you will be asked your preference (inside or out) and will then be escorted to a table. Virginia was our waitress, handling the entire patio, and doing a superb job of taking orders, delivering food, checking on tables, and generally making every customer happy. While this is primarily a breakfast place, we came for lunch. They offer soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch. I decided on a BLT and chose to have it on rye bread along with waffle fries. We also ordered a cobb salad to share. The BLT had toasted bread and crispy bacon. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. It was delicious but nothing extraordinary - it was standard but done to perfection. The waffle fries were really good, and while they had ketchup on the table, I instead used the ranch dressing that came with the cobb salad to dip them in. Speaking of the salad, it had bits of chicken, bacon, and ham along with olives, lettuce, tomato, crumbled blue cheese, and hard boiled egg. It was quite good and we were provided with two separate plates to share it more easily. It was a filling meal and I waddled out of there more than satisfied. Other than that, I hope to return someday to actually have a Belgian Waffle at a place called the Belgian Waffle Works.

    Strawberry-Banana Royal.

Came in on a Monday morning and it was slightly busy. I waited around 15-20 minutes to get a table. We had our dog with us so we sat in the patio. Despite the heat, the patio had a pretty great view of the lake. I would recommend people eat out there even if they don't have a dog. My party ordered the Strawberry-Banana Royal and I got the Belgian Scrambled for myself. The Strawberry-Banana Royal was solid, just like most of the waffles I've had in my life. The Belgian Scrambled was pretty okay, though I've had better brunch plates. I can only compare it to the second installment of the Karate Kid franchise. It wasn't a bad movie, though I know I've seen better because the first Karate Kid really set the bar. Best believe I still finished it, though. Solid place to try out. Though I would probably try the Country Breakfast next time.

We had such a great experience at Belgian Waffle Works!! We came in early on a Sunday morning and had the entire patio with our pup to ourselves. Not only does this place have great views of the water, but incredible breakfast! We both got the scramble, which was huge, so filling, and so yummy. We both got extra crispy potatoes and I couldn't stop talking about how good the potatoes were. We also got a side waffle - and wow. This place doesn't mess around with the waffle. It even came with a side of melted butter, which we had never seen and loved!! Service was incredible. Even though we were the only guests on the patio, they came and checked on us multiple times. We had the best breakfast here and the best time. Will definitely be back next time we visit Arrowhead.

It was very cold on this particular day

We bought 2 coffees (a 12 oz drip coffee with half and half and a 16 oz iced latte). We also got 2 bagel breakfast sandwiches. Our total was $39!!!!! Even my tiny drip coffee cost significantly more than a Starbucks equivalent! The Quality I truly hate to say it because I want local businesses to be successful, but everything was low quality. My drip coffee was lukewarm when I got it, my wife said she prefers iced coffee from del taco compared to the one she had here. But the really disappointing thing was the sandwiches. First, they came out heaped with lettuce (on a breakfast sandwich???) I've never seen that before, and we didn't ask for it. After we picked the lettuce off of the sandwiches they were very small (especially for the price!!) I managed to eat about 2 bites of mine before I couldn't stomach it anymore. It was just bad. The sausage patty tasted freezer burned and was extremely dry and the egg white was undercooked. I love an over easy egg, but this was not that. This egg was not cooked enough to be served. My wife made it about 1 bite further than I did, then she had to call it quits. All in all, we paid $40 to throw away our sandwiches and drink aggressively mediocre coffee. What really sucks is that I want to support local businesses! I would love to keep going to a small local shop. But when they rob us blind and serve food like that, I can't justify it.

I had my 1 yr old grandson with us -the only disappointing thing about our experience was the extremely high prices on the children's menu. $15 for a children's quesadilla or burger is excessive. At the end, our waitress brought us the lava cake and vanilla ice cream for my birthday and it was very good. All in all a great experience, we really enjoyed.
