While waiting for my order, i decided to use the restroom. Unfortunately the door to get to the restrooms was locked. I asked the girl at the counter if i could use the restroom. I was told the restrooms close an hour before closing. I thought she was joking, but she was actually serious. I have never heard of an establishment closing their restrooms during business hours. I used to be a frequent flyer of this establishment following my shifts from the hospital. Ever since the introduction of much needed competition, this teahouse has been essentially wiped off the radar. The ome thing that keeps me hopeful is the popcorn chicken. Gone are the days that these folks know how to make a proper teapresso, and gone are the days of amazing basil fried, clean, Taiwanese style popcorn chicken. I could tell the oil they used seemed a bit old. The franchise as a whole is starting to crumble now that there are more shops popping up who are stepping away from using powders and artificial flavors. Now that there is a Mogee Tea across the street from work, there's virtually no reason to come here anymore for boba; less convenience and a huge quality drop by comparison. If you're getting anything here, it better be a tea-based drink to go. Service is also quite slow and you can just tell the folks behind the counter don't want to work. The poor girl making my popcorn chicken had trouble adding the spices to the chicken and was sneezing all over the place. Ughh. Anyway, its nice they have tables, but the space is nevertheless a bit tight and the place seems a bit unkempt. The crew seems to be a bit too young with very poor leadership. If it was in your backyard, it'd be The Treehouse. If it were the kind of "sums" I like, it'd be The Threehouse. And if this review gets censored, blame The FCC-house. What to get: Lemon Honey Black Tea, maybe the coffee drinks and the Strawberry Black Tea. What toppings: Aloe Vera plus Strawberry Hearts, Lychee Bears or Passion Fruit Dolphins. What not to get: Student loans instead of Teahouse, homes. (We all would choose the latter) This is a very friendly location of Teahouse down next to the stadium, NRG Stadium that is. They make good products, and there are several items on the menu that we love. There's a good couple of dozen locations of The Teahouses all over the city, and some are bad and some are good, and this is one of the ones that we would say is definitely good. Not as good as my fave over in Rice Village, but still very good. And if I brought my cats here, it'd be The Fleahouse. If the toilet overflows? The Peehouse. And when you bring your wife here, it's The Guess-what-she's-having-an-affair-with-Mehouse. read more

I was running errands and had a craving for Thai tea. Thankfully, I saw this spot was nearby and thought that I could be in and out in about 10 minutes. I was completely wrong. I walked in and inside had about 4 customers (2 seated/already serviced, 2 ahead of me in line). The customers ahead of me didn't seem to order anything excessive or complicated, so I didn't think much of the fact that my server said that my tea would take "a couple of minutes". A couple of minutes = 20+ minute wait time. I don't understand how somewhere with should slow customer traffic at the time (no DoorDash orders either) would take so long to make a Thai tea. Not convinced to return, but I hope their speed increases because this place has so much potential. read more

This place is my go-to study spot, just because it is quiet, clean and affordable. Service is alright, but that's really all you need for a boba place. They offer free wifi and do allow students to work there, which is really nice of them! Halloween decorations are up as well, which I find is a cute touch to an otherwise aesthetic cafe. Prices are decent and affordable (thank god, 7 dollars for a drink is really breaking my bank) As for the food, I've had a taro milk tea and a Thai green tea here so far, and they're pretty good. The popcorn chicken is pretty good as well. I'd recommend getting it as spicy as possible, because it's not super strong. The Thai tea had some strong caffeine, which I really needed. It's hard to find a good boba spot, within walking distance, that can satisfy a good craving and provide a good place to work! read more

Teahouse is one of the typical drink places for boba and smoothies, but the experience you have really varies depending on the location you go to. In general, I like that they have a variety of flavor options, and you can customize your sugar and ice level. They also have some non-dairy options. I've tried many flavors from Teahouse including Thai tea, hazelnut cream tea, roasted rice green tea, taro cream blend, and matcha cream tea. When they're made well, they all taste really good, but again, this is dependent on who's making the drinks that day. At this particular location, the drinks are usually pretty decent, but they make them less sweet than other places do at the same sweetness level. Parking is easy to find. When it's safe to again, there's usually some nice little tables to study at, but it can get a little loud. read more

One store down from Akashi (Chinese restaurant) so could be a good after lunch/dinner pick me up. Parking is ample as with everything in this very large strip mall which contains Akashi, Olive Garden, Dimassi's, Ross, Asahi Sushi, and so so much more. More than possibly can be named in one review. One of many, many of the same chain of tapioca joints in town. It's new so still very clean, and the decorations are just adorable with the neon signs and such. They've even decorated for the holidays with little paper santa hats and bottle brush trees and it just makes the whole place seem very festive. Another thing to note is that for the first time at a Teahouse I saw that all the staff were non-asians. Go Teahouse for being inclusive! There's board games as with most other Teahouse locations; and a sign asking for donations of gently used games. This location is rather, small so not great for hanging out for long periods of time with large parties. They do have outlets but only 2 that I could see and they're both in tall tables to the right just as you enter. read more

Since this is one of the newer teahouse locations, it is a great study spot. It is usually quiet but gets full fast on some days. They also have fast WiFi!! I usually get either the Mint Green Tea or the Mango Green tea. Typically they do take a lot longer to make the mint green tea since I think they have to go look up the recipe. I also like to get light ice, but I noticed that every time I ask for less ice, my drink is a dark brown color (instead of the usual light green color or the mint green tea). So at this particular location, I have to say regular ice in order get a drink that tastes good. read more

My entire love of boba started with this franchise back in 2014 (Bellaire location). Since I've discovered all of the best boba spots in Houston. Teahouse is always a reliable option however when I don't want to drive to China town or my other favorite spots. My go to at this franchise is usually their #1 (half sweet) with a scoop of ice cream and half boba, honeydew cream blend with mango jelly, or their strawberry banana cream blend with strawberry jelly. This location I never have to adjust their sweetness level because it's always perfect (not super sweet like other locations. I see that complaint a lot for this location but I actually love it) not big on super sweet tea. Todays visit i opted for the strawberry cream blend because they were out of honey dew and mango jelly. I finally tried their popcorn chicken and it was a nice snack. The employee at the register was super friendly and comical. Their Christmas decor was cute and they have plenty of seating. read more

They looked pretty staffed but it took forever to make the order then even longer to get my drink. The drink itself tasted good. This is our first visit to this location. We saw it when driving past on Kirby and decided to stop in for a little snack. It's very visible from the street and has just enough parking spots in front. I don't remember what I usually get from Teahouse but today we opted for the Vietnamese coffee - regular size. That regular size should be called a baby size. It's so tiny!! It's like the size of a kiddie drink. But it is strong. I felt like mine had too much ice. I'll have to ask for light ice next time. Most likely will opt for the larger size also. We got their popcorn chicken to share as a light snack. It's very good!! The popcorn chicken is crispy and has a great flavor with a bit of spice. I'd definitely order it again. I also like how it was packed to-go. Inside, it is a small area but neat. They have some board games on shelves underneath the counter. There a couple of bar height tables, some small two-seat tables and one large table near the entrance. Although it's a pretty small space, they make good use of it and still have it looking spacious enough despite how small of an area it actually is. I imagine it can get a bit cramped when filled with more customers inside. The bathrooms here are single (one per gender) and clean. They're hidden away in the back behind another door. I wouldn't mind coming back here the next time I'm in the area and need a spot to hang out for a bit. The coffee and popcorn chicken are good. I might try something else next time just to experience what else they offer. read more

Ahh man I hate doing this because I love teahouse tapioca one rice village but this location was terrible experience. The place is super cute and because of the pandemic, there is no indoor seating which I'm okay with since I was getting a to go order. I called three times but no one answered so I had to drive in to place my order. When I walked in, no one greeted me or asked me if I was ready to order and I was the only one inside the shop. When I placed my single order it took at least 5-10 minutes to have it made. I got the chocolate blend with boba and it's the worst one I've ever tasted. I know it's a new store so allowances are made but I hope they get better at making drinks soon because this is the place closest to me. I like how teahouse is conveniently located in rice village so you can get your boba fix after a meal around the area. There is some seating on the inside and it's clean. I ordered the winter melon tea with pearls and they didn't have the large ones available so I got the mini pearls. The winter melon tea tasted kind of strange and it just wasn't very good. The prices are pretty average ~ $4.50 per drink. Overall, I just didn't think the quality was very good for the price so I just think they could improve on that! read more

I stopped in here after leaving the rodeo. It was late so a lot of places weren't open. I was surprised the Teahouse was. I wanted to try something new so I got the taro and coconut cream tea and added boba and almond pudding. It was very good! I really liked the almond pudding (it's what they called it; it was more of a gelatin). It was little difficult to get through the straw but it was worth it. I've ordered milk tea from this location a few times and I actually think the teas are made better at this location than some of the Teahouses in the area (I.e. Rice Village and Weslayan). The teas actually stand out and the flavors are good - as are the toppings! They usually have everything ready for me fairly quick - though one time the sugar level was way out of whack and tasted like syrup! I love that they have red bean and coffee jelly add ons, on top of the traditional boba aka tapicoa! We were hungry so ordered the popcorn chicken and eggrolls - low grade food quality! Chicken was flavorful but the pieces were a bit questionable. The eggrolls were a bit mushy inside, though flavor profile was all there! We ordered mild for both and big those popcorn chicken bites were spicy!! Mouth was burning! Both came with some dipping sauce and in little containers with skewer sticks! Not shabby for fast bites but don't expect any high quality breast meat. I would come back for tea though and the service is super! read more

My kiddo and I came here for some cold tapioca drinks this afternoon. Upon pulling up, there was a large sign that said "free drink all day", so I figured we would be eligible for this promotion since there wasn't a date specified on the sign. I ended up ordering three drinks: one for myself, one for my kiddo, and one for someone else. The cashier then tells me the total was $18 and some change. I ask why we didn't receive the advertised promotion for the two drinks and she said that promotion is over; it was only for yesterday. She stated that they "just haven't found someone to take the sign down". Ummmm, 1.) that's not my issue and 2.) have you ever heard of scissors and a ladder?! I politely say they're false advertising and since the sign is still up, the promo should be honored. The cashier didn't seem to care. I ended up still placing the orders but still ended up peeved about the promo that was not being honored. While our drinks tasted good, this location barely had any snacks and games available. I'm used to seeing 10+ games available at any given location; this location has three lousy games. read more

Though I enjoy bubble tea very much- This is the worst Teahouse location I have been to in the greater Houston area. I am a regular at the nearby Shepherd and Rice Village locations. I've been to this location for the free boba grand opening day and to try out their drinks a few weeks after opening. We decided to try the teahouse Classic milk tea and the Thai green tea both with tapioca pearls recently. Both orders came out after a very long wait (~10 min), and they messed up one of our orders! One came out without any tapioca even though it was clearly labeled on the drink cup that we had requested tapioca in our order. We sent the incorrect drink order back to fix it. However instead of making us a new drink, they removed ice from the original drink (I had already ordered with less ice) and added in the tapioca. That made the drink warm and rather not enjoyable. The sweetness levels are also very inconsistent at this location. We ordered one drink with 3/4 and the other with 1/2 sugar. The 1/2 sugar one actually tasted sweeter than the 3/4 sugar tea! Also as we waited at our table, there were many ants crawling on the table and floor- for a new location that is not a good sign! Next time, I likely will make the trip to the Teahouse in Rice Village or Shepherd for a consistently good experience. read more

So this was a fun little place I ran across during my lunch. When I came in the staff was very nice and helpful and the menu was huge. I'll get a picture next time I come in. I got the Honeydew Cram Tea with lychee belly. It was amazing. I also got a Vietnamese coffee to charge the second half of the day. It tasted great and caught my 2nd wind.
