I came in with a friend recently because my favorite spot in town was closed for the day. I am SO glad I did. We seated ourselves in a booth with cozy lighting. The menu is HUGE so we needed some extra time to order - neither of us could decide. We ended up both going with noodle dishes and the steamed chicken dumplings to start. Everything was fantastic. I got the Spicy Noodle - so flavorful and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. I literally cleaned my plate. My friend got the Crazy Noodles and the huge flat noodles were so fun. She couldn't finish all of hers and I took her leftovers, which were just as delicious the next day. The restaurant is in a large shopping plaza so there is a TON of parking. They have a sign in the window advertising 15% off on Tuesdays, so I will definitely bringing a group back to take advantage of that. read more

I forgot to take a picture of our actual meal, but my husband and I love the food here! The crab rangoons are pop-able size with the perfect amount yummy filling and the right amount of crispy goodness. We also are a fan of the pho. I get it without tomato's and onion, but it's still delicious. The broth is so flavorful! Don't sleep on the rice dishes either! I love the bamboo shoot dish. It's spicy and savory, but I know not everyone's a fan of the veggies included. The staff there are so kind and have never given me or anyone I go there with issues for substitutions. The Thai Place is my favorite Thai restaurant in CT, and I've been to Thai restaurants all over CT and all over New England. They have a pretty standard menu and execute the classics very well. My favorite is their lemongrass chicken, not typically found on the menu at other Thai restaurants. It is excellent. The massaman curry is also excellent - great flavor, the sauce coats the ingredients well (at many restaurants it is too watery), and the veggies are even crinkle cut! Also love the crab rangoons. A bit of a warmer vibe than other Thai restaurants, and the staff is very friendly. I've never had a bad experience. We used to live close by but have since moved - and we make sure to stop whenever we travel through Putnam! read more

As some of the other Yelpers have mentioned here the flavors/seasonings are sorely lacking here. I had the yellow curry with pork, and it was one of the blandest Thai dishes I've ever had. The curry sauce didn't have much flavor and I even got chunks of the curry paste that wasn't heated/mixed in thoroughly. I think I'll stick to Chinese food when I visit Connecticut. read more

This is one of the best Pad Thai Dishes I've ever had and every ingredient is noticeably fresh! I initially had this during the week with some co workers and I really enjoyed it! This is located inside a strip mall, with a supermarket, nail place, a subway, a hardware store, Hallmark Store, A Smoke Shop, & a Walgreens. The strip mall has quite the variety! I went here to eat with a friend & it was not very busy as we went during the week on our lunch breaks. I think we were the only people in there. The server greeted us promptly & then came by to take our order. It's actually not as small as it appears from the outside, and it's quite roomy & open inside. We ordered and our food came out very quickly! You can tell everything was very fresh and cooked to order. A lot of times places don't use the freshest ingredients but you can tell all the ingredients were very fresh ! I had the Chicken Pad Thai & it was amazing! Really nice restaurant. The seating is you sit where you like, which is nice. Everyone observes COVID rules, the staff wearing mask and gloves. The ambiance was lovely and relaxing. We ordered: Spring rolls - they were fresh and the sauce that came with it was really good too - for me a bit too spicy but my hubby liked it Wonton soup - the soup was filling and the wontons were made fresh and with lots of meat and veggies. The dough wasn't too thick, overcooked or undercooked, it was just right. Cashew chicken with jasmine rice. My hubby liked it but he said he prefers cashew chicken in a thicker sauce - this one was served in more of a broth-y, thinner consistency sauce, which he wasn't that crazy about, but it's all about preference. The cashews were roasted, which was a nice touch. Our bill came to about $22 with a tip. Overall a good Thai restaurant, the food was yummy, the service excellent. read more

We've ordered both of Thai Place Sampler and Platter, we like almost everything except for the chicken and beef satay (skewer) or BKK beef because they are dry and taste like beef or chicken jerky (if you like beef jerky then you'd probably like it). Their service is pretty good and the free water taste alright. We order non spicy dishes so the whole fam can eat, then to ask for their spicy rack to add any spice individually. The cashew chicken is good but I'll remember to ask for the rice to be in another bowl. The Pad See Eaw is good with plenty of yummy chicken and veggie but we'll ask to be less salty (less duck sauce). The fried ice cream is pretty big and yummy but we'll ask to cut it into four quarters for us. We'll come again! read more

The Thai place duck with broccoli was fantastic. There were no bones. It was fried to Perfection and the sauce was delicious. It had slivers of ginger. I ate so fast I thought other customers might be watching me. True there was no rice . I did not need it. The place was almost full early in the evening and the take out orders were flying out of the place. I am going back soon to try another dish. I do not understand the harsh reviews. I think this place should get five stars from everyone. My only complaint was that the air conditioning was cranked up high and the dining room was cold. I am wearing a sweater next time. Don't let the fact that this is a storefront in a strip mall fool you, the Thai food here is excellent, which you can tell as soon as you walk in the door and the cooking smells wafts over. I travel a lot for work and I love checking out Thai restaurants. I saw this place and stopped in. I usually go for Drunken Noodle if I see it on the menu and this time was no different. I was blown away. It was outstanding. Veggies fresh and perfectly cooked. The flavor was amazing and with the perfect amount of gentle heat. I chose a glass of their Riesling to go with it and it was a match made in heaven. The service was great. The staff was friendly and warm. The interior was clean, beautiful and charming. Went here for early dinner this week. I ordered the lamb and my friends ordered the pad Thai. We had chicken dumplings for an appetizer. The decor was pretty standard to an Asian restaurant. Very quiet, dark and not a lot of customers at the time. The waitress was fast and friendly. Nothing extraordinary but she was nice. The chicken dumplings were perfect cooked and the sauce it came with was delicious. The lamb came on a bone in a bowl of brown broth and sautéed veggies. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I was disappointed the dish was labeled spicy and it was definitely not. I also didn't like the lamb on the bone, I was only able to get about 5 small bites of lamb before it was gone. If this was closer to home I may be back for lunch. It was on the way so not a bad choice if driving through. read more

I'll get veggie pad Thai one day and it's awesome- full of fresh vegetables and tofu and next time the veggies are limp and 1 or 2 pieces of tofu. We're big fans of Thai food and we don't have many Thai places in the area so it's always a treat to have Thai food, even mediocre Thai, which is what this is. Despite her "50% I don't know, 50% I don't care" T-shirt, our server was actually very kind and attentive. We ordered an early dinner of Pad Thai and Massaman curry, which came out too fast. Even before the chicken satay, which we ordered as a starter. We asked for the Massaman with a little spice and it was just right as far as heat is concerned. But unfortunately it was mainly cooked onions and very few heartier vegetables. Only a few pieces of the tofu we ordered with it. The worst is that our curry didn't include rice! That was a first for me. So we ordered our rice separately. The Pad Thai was overly sweet and otherwise bland. The noodles were greasy and only two shrimp. A common complaint I have about Pad Thai is that it rarely has all the fresh greens (sprouts, green onion, etc.) that it really ought to have, and this was no different. Very little fresh veg with our dish. Overall, it seems like nice place but they're really cutting corners when it comes to the food. We'll go elsewhere next time. read more

Imperial lamb, pineapple fried rice Mini Spring rolls, chicken dumpling... yummy food. Impeccable and friendly service. Back when dining in was a thing, they always wipe down the tables and the high chair right in front of us, for our comfort. Over the phone orders always run smoothly and never any mistakes in the 2 years we have ordered. ( we order about 2 to five times a month.) Always a great place for dinner or take out. Nothing ever disappoints. Flavorful, sometimes really spicy, and healthy portions. The price is great... one of the only places less expensive than fast food or even eating certain home cooked dishes. If you're not sure what to get, ask the staff their favorites. Not sure why the person gave them 1 star a month ago "because no rice came with their curry and they get it other places" but literally the only other thai place that has been in town up until this month also does NOT include rice with their curry dishes.
