Drunken Noodle

Pho Delight had a nice scenery. There are outdoor seatings for a nice day, as well as a lot of indoor. During lunch hour, they were not very busy so service was quick. Pictured is the drunken noodles. Spice level was 2, so it was just a hint of spice; levels are 1-5. I had their coffee, although it was really good, it was also very sweet. The lychee juice was absolutely superb!

Who knew you could get such good food in little ole Willimantic? A cut above the typical Thai resto with some outstanding specialties and a step up with the familiar dishes. We started with some excellent spring rolls, both fresh (with shrimp) and deep fried (with chicken). The latter were crispy cheroots of deliciousness, very addictive. My wife had their eggplant with Thai red curry which was very flavorful and just the right heat level (she chose level 3 out of a heat index 1-5 offered). My daughter had a hankering for pho which she really enjoyed. I sampled the broth and it was very good, meaty but light. I had a chicken pad thai which was also very well made, with tender pieces of white meat and bright flavors. A standout was the crabmeat fried rice which we shared - very very good and I would come back just for another plate of this. We are looking forward to another visit to try more dishes!

Fast and efficient service. Authentic Thai food with large serving sizes and options for everyone! We are repeat customers and enjoy it every time we stop by! Highly recommend.

Our family loves Thai food, and if I lived in Willimantic, I'd be a regular here both for dining in and takeout as there are not other Thai options in the neighborhood. But, compared to other Thai restaurants, this was just okay. There were pros and cons with each dish. The Pad See Eew was pretty good and well executed, though the dinner portion was a little on the small side. The flavor of the Thai Basil dish was very nice, but perhaps a bit heavy handed with the fish sauce. The Kai Ka Prow, one of their specialties, had an ample amount of protein, but the bone in the ground chicken and eggshells from the fried egg really detracted from an otherwise tasty dish. We easily found street parking on a rainy night, and the staff seemed eager to please. Our dishes arrived to the table somewhat staggered - I suspect the kitchen is small, and the casual atmosphere leads me to believe they do a lot of takeout vs. dining in.

We ordered 3 meals to be delivered all of which came with rice, one was specifically a fried rice meal the other 2 stated that they came with rice. Those two meals were delivered with no rice! We called to let them know and after we had the meals delivered we were asked to come pick up the rice if we wanted it. We were charged a $5.99 delivery fee which I feel they should have offered to reimburse since we ended up having to drive to the restaurant to get the remaining part of our order that they never included in the bag! To add to that both of those meals (the orange chicken and the garlic meal) were very skimpy for what we paid, at $18 a piece! This was a disappointment I'm sorry to say.

As always, great service. The water with lemon was brought out quickly along with the menu. I can legitimately hear the cook making my dish soon after it was order and that also came out timely. The flavor fusion was blended so well. The music and atmosphere is always nice there. I was going to tell the waitress to let the cook know how good his food was but he actually came out. Nice touch. I appreciated that. My drink, entree and dessert is on point once again. I will be back for sure!!

We've gone there multiple times and every time the food has been spot on! Beverages, Pho, salads, curries, noodles, appetizers, we've never had a complaint. The servers have always been very welcoming and efficient.

Veggie spring rolls, coconut shrimp

My wife and I set out to run some errands in Willi and then get some dinner. A few minutes later we quickly spotted Pho Delight, circled around to park, and headed on in. The friendly staff greeted and seated up immediately. Their dining room and bar areas were tidy and comfortable with about a dozen tables, and they were doing a pretty decent business for a cold and rainy Wednesday night. The menu had a familiar mix of Thai dishes, along with a section of soups and various kinds of pho. We decided to keep things familiar for a first visit, ordering appetizers of spring rolls and coconut shrimp, and for entrees a bowl of beef pho and yellow chicken curry, all to share. The appetizers came out quickly and piping hot straight from the fryer. Spring rolls were crunchy with a fresh veggie filling, accompanied by the usual sweet-and-fishy dipping sauce. Coconut shrimp really smelled and tasted like fresh coconut and were also perfectly cooked with a clean shrimpiness; their dipping sauce was a sriracha-infused mayo. The pho was a generous bowl of broth, noodles, scallions, cilantro, and beef slices, with the customary accompaniments of basil, bean sprouts, sliced hot peppers, and a lime wedge. The yellow curry was a rich coconut-milk based sauce swimming with slices of chicken, onions, carrots, and potatoes, along with a side of jasmine rice. Both entrees were simply terrific, executed and seasoned perfectly with a clean, clear mouth feel. Chatting with our server we learned that the restaurant had been here for a few years, but very recently was sold to a new owner who redecorated the dining room and redesigned the menu. That owner, a young man named Sitta, introduced himself and told us of his upbringing in southern Thailand and subsequent graduate studies in China (he speaks English well, along with Mandarin and his native Thai). When I mentioned that it seemed out of place for a Thai restaurant to serve pho, he reassured us that pho is common street food in Thailand, and that their Thai version is generally simpler and has fewer ingredients than Vietnamese pho. I guess you learn something new every day -- in any case, the pho here is delicious and can compete with any similar soup I've ever had. All in all a great experience and we're going to have to dine here again and explore the menu more deeply. Highly recommended... I just hope that success doesn't overwhelm and spoil this little gem.

Was able to park easily outside the restaurant and my order was ready one time. It was prepared pretty quickly in ~15-20 minutes. The inside is cute and has a nice dining in space. I ordered the crab Rangoons and chicken basil pad krapow. I thought the prices were fair ~$25 for both. I enjoyed the Rangoons but I wish they were a little crispier but maybe that was because I did take out. The basil pad krapow was yummy and I was able to get multiple meals out of it. Overall an enjoyable meal!

Thai Nachos {4/5} (~$18): No cheese, so not sure if actually considered nachos... but it was tasty! Fried wontons with sriracha mayo, flavorful ground chicken, peppers, and Thai basil. HUGE portion! Boba station: Lots of topping and flavor options. $7.50 with boba and $5.50 without boba. One size. I got the passionfruit green tea with crystal boba, it was okay! Not a strong tea flavor but it was not bad. The other food looks good, would wanna come back and try!

It was maybe 10 minutes later when I got there and my order was already ready! It was still nice and hot so I was pretty impressed. It was $24 for both items which wasn't terrible at all. The restaurant was pretty empty but also quite dark. No hostess at the front--the loud slam of the door was enough to alert someone to come assist me. The level 4 spice I got on my Pad Thai was terrific--noticeable spice and got my sweat ready to drip.. but not crazy spicy where it was inedible. I was also able to taste the nice tang from the pad thai sauce. Chicken was cooked nicely. Overall no complaints. Very tasty! The mango sticky rice was a great end to the meal. The sticky rice was still warm and there was a generous amount of mango to top it. They had the coconut sauce in a separate container which I appreciated. The sauce was more on the runny side, so I wished it was a bit more thick. Overall though, so so tasty. Subtly sweet and had great balance of flavors. I would definitely come back, but for take out only as the vibes inside the restaurant was not quite it.

And I liked the Tom yum soup and much had just the right mix of flavors. But then the rest of the meal just kinda fell apart. The pad Thai was not great. The noodles were mushy and the dish was fairly flavorless. Chicken in the dish however was tasty. The other dish we got was also devoid of much flavor too. It was like they designed Thai food without much seasoning or perhaps the regular crowd lies it that way. But for me, not a fan. Ultimately it was just a disappointing visit. Had hoped for more.

This restaurant was bought 5/6 years ago by the Chinese restaurant across the street. Their building was demolished. For my first drink, I'm having a Singha. Singha is Thailand's original premium lager, first brewed in 1933, known for its rich taste with strong hop character, and is often paired with spicy food. Its logo features the mythical golden lion (Singha) and the Garuda, a symbol of royal approval, making it a distinctive Thai brand with significant international sponsorships in sports like Formula 1 and football. The name also refers to numerous Thai restaurants worldwide that serve its cuisine. They have only beer and wine here. The cold beer glass matches the brand of the beer! This is good. It's cold and easy to drink. For my salad, I'm having the SomTum. Som Tum Thai (Green Papaya Salad) is a beloved Thai salad characterized by a vibrant mix of shredded green papaya, chilies, garlic, cherry tomatoes, long beans, roasted peanuts, and dried shrimp. The dish is defined by its bold, refreshing balance of spicy, savory, tangy, and slightly sweet flavors, often dressed with fish sauce, lime juice, and palm sugar. This is good! It's a big portion. I love the fresh iceberg lettuce cups. For my soup, I'm having tom Yum. Tom yum is a popular Thai hot and sour soup, known for its aromatic broth flavored with lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and chilies, balanced with lime juice, fish sauce, and sugar. The most common version, Tom Yum Goong, features shrimp, but it can also be made with chicken, pork, or seafood. It comes in a clear broth (nam sai) or a creamy version (nam khon), which adds evaporated milk or chili paste. This is hot and yummy! Lots of chicken! The tomatoes retain a lot of heat! For my my entree, I'm having the Massaman Curry with chicken. Massaman curry is a rich, mild, and flavorful Thai curry with Persian and Indian influences, known for its complex, aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves, and its creamy texture from coconut milk, peanuts, and potatoes. It's less spicy than other Thai curries and balances sweet, salty, and sour tastes, often made with chicken, beef, or duck, and served with rice. They add peanuts too! I'm going to Christen a bottle of Melinda's Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper sauce. The pepper is supposedly 1M Scoville units. Yeah. That's hot. The sauce is not that hot. It's maybe 50K Scoville units. The Massaman Curry is real good! It's hot and delicious. What a great meal here!

I'm a vegetarian so I'm always on the lookout for good vegetarian food. We tried the Thai spring rolls, Drunken noodles (which might be made with oyster sauce so be aware if you are vegetarian) with tofu and sesame bean curd. By far our favorite was the sesame tofu (bean curd). It was crispy and light, slightly sweet and spicy and overall tasty. I've tried several other places in the area and this is my fav so far. The veggie spring rolls were also very tasty, but small. Still great tho, I don't love huge portions, but I did wish I had more of these (shared these and my roommate loved them). When I went to pick up inside the place looked clean, although when I went to the counter the couple and their (i assume) daughter did not seem very interested in getting up to help me. The daughter did eventually and she was very kind. Overall I did enjoy my take out experience here and will order here again sometime.
